Dear ColdHardTruth, God calls us to carry the weak, uphold the sick and speak up for those who can't speak for themselves....if you were autisitic and smashing your fists into your head because you didn't understand your hands were weapons....would you want me to protect you? Or someone protect you? What if my boy is secretly screaming...help me, help me, I can't stop myself...please stop me, and we can't hear him?

You asked if I were autistic, would I want to be protected. Honestly, if I were trapped inside a body that I could not control..if the family I loved had to care for me like an infant...if I knew that it would be that the people who cared for me would pass away and leave my care to someone else. If I knew it would be that way until I grew old and died..Well then I would want to go ahead return to God. I would not want to live that way. I don't think anyone would want that. I am sorry.

Coldhardtruth, I respect your opinion, but I URGE you to view the other videos of our son and see he IS HAPPY many days...and lives a FULL life...acute moments of pain and despair are never easy, but not a reason to end it all....there's always hope...God never promised us an easy life, though that sucks....I know...it is what is..you try and have as many good times as you can..and bring others comfort and happiness....Have a great week....thanks for comments...

Autism is caused by many different situations. I have two children who have autism. They were fine until the shots and then....

You both as parents and caregivers are angels to this boy. You dont know what is in his mind. He cannot control his body but I assure you he loves you both!!

This child certainly wants to die. He is trying his best to end his life by the only means at his disposal (beating himself). Why do people restrain him and force him to continue to live like this. Would you want to live that way? I don't understand why anyone would prolong suffering on a human being this way. If you love someone so much that you can not let them go...then that's not love, it's selfishness

There are things he does that sometimes he can't control. The family is trying to help him.

he can't control hitting himself, it's part of his autism. Mentally and physically he is always going to be 1 years old. I wouldn't want a kid like that and when you see that, you pray that it's not YOUR kid! He can't verbalize and say what he wants or that he's hurting so that's how he expresses it

also , I do in home support for an autistic who tends to have tantrums , bite himself and hit or pinch or hurt staff, its a very hard job for the ppl who do it, and it is burning me out at times, so I can really feel for families who have the person in home..
