  • What happened to going green?

  • Oh my god! Haha

  • That is amazing!....

  • Awesome. Any idea how it was done?

  • Get a strong firecracker, pour some petrol in a PE foil bag, put this in PVC pipe, and stir...

The firecracker should be under this bag, and should be fired up electrically.

Don't do this at home ;)

  • amazing.

  • Looks like what came out of my ass late last night!

  • I can do better.

  • Hey my dragon needs those!!

  • That looks fucking huge!!!

  • another hole in the ozone layer ;-)

  • what the fuck!

  • Fuck i want to go to burning man

  • beautiful! does anybody know which fuel they used? petrol?

  • 50% whatever they could find flammable and then pressurized the rest of the tank with liquid petroleum (propane)

it was awesome, to say the least.

  • I have GOT to get me Two of those!

  • awesome... they look some kind of rings of fire!....

  • This is what the 250-dollar entrance fee pays for. 250 a pop times 25,000 pops. That's some serious popping.

  • pause it at 21 seconds and jimmy hendrix comes to life

  • Hey!! pause it at six seconds, and what do u know? 2 huge giagantic burning boobs

  • I have to learn how to make this so I can do this at my in-laws. I just will not tell them what it does.

    lol

  • Front row!

  • Did anyone else smell like fuel the rest of that night? My skin reeked of it!!

  • Woah! That could ave blown up the empire state building!

  • holy crap thats was awsome thanks for the vid

  • The heat that hit your face mustve been incredible!

  • I just happened to be walking by this when it happened, it was the craziest thing I've ever seen.

  • What was it High pressure natural gas with a JP-4 mixture thrown in for good measure?

  • it was a mixture of propane and anything flammable- booze, lighter fluid, biodiesel, etc. call it a community effort.

    ha

  • they should of aimed it at someone

  • Awesome. I was there and the video brought back great memories, and yea, if you werent there...forget it.

  • lol, man its not that big of a deal, its just a big explosion. That guy in the background saying "OHHH MYY GODD!" lol he probably has never seen a huge fireworks display ^^

  • i gather you werent there... correct?

the shock and heat wave alone was enough to scare people to the point of soiling their undergarments.

nothing on video looks as "good" or feels the same as witnessing it in person. if you were there, you'd see what all the screaming is about. That thing set off a low pressure shock wave that could be felt 2 miles away!

but thanks for your comment anyhow.

  • cool i love explosions

  • i like explosions

  • This happened just after my wedding at the temple. It was amazing and awesome, and a fitting spectacle to occur unexpectedly at such a fine moment. I will never forget how I felt right then.

  • meh. Mechanical explosion. I like pyrotechnics just fine, but I prefer a more human element to my fire entertainment. Great work for what it is, though!

  • I'm going to Burning Man in my solar powered car to make a statement, then I'm going to have a massive bonfire and launch fireballs into the sky!

*head scratch* someone explain Hippies to me again? I think all that acid finally caught up with them.

  • What are you talking about? What hippies?! I guess you've never been to Burning Man.

  • Oh my gaaaaawwwwwwwwwwdddddd! LOL someone's been into the mushrooms.

  • You may think so but just imagine being right there and waiting for this to go off. Look at the scale of it. There are some small things near the base . . . are those vehicles? If so, this thing was of a mammoth scale, difficult to comprehend, even when there. If I had been there, I may have sounded just as mushroomed (and I don't do drugs).

  • Thanks!!! GREAT footage & I love the commentary. I didn't see this. Don't ask me HOW we missed this one.

  • Nate Smith did it. Beausmith is right. I was front row center, and by the time the thing went off, Nate was right next to me (in full fireproof gear). I barely got to watch it, I was so busy scampering away on all fours trying to shield my eyes from the heat.

  • I remember DJing at Temple of Atonement and seeing this. It was incredible and slightly frightening.

  • I love it...

it sucks that i cant go to burning , cus i live in the netherlands

  • dude, you can! there were many belgians there, as well as loads of brits and frenchies and greeks and mexicans and yes, even CANADIANS! it's not just for americans, even though we might like to think it is...

  • I met 3 people there from the netherlands this year - get off your butt

  • Incredible... Thank you for posting.

  • nice capture. the best video of this i've seen yet. just for the record. 2BLEVE stands for 2 boiling liquid expanding vapour explosion.

  • The dpw perimeter guys fell over laughing at how badly they miscalculated the distance the artists put us at. It was a one off from the guys doing the fire tornados (w/ a circle of fans) and they'd only done a water test. Never w/ fire. Two 100 gallon drums each filled w/ 100 gals of jet fuel, kerosene, gasoline and propane shot out of 8 inch nozzles, all of it, in 2 seconds...

  • I saw it from my camp and thought that someone fire art piece had exploded :P

  • We were in camp when this went off, and it was crazy amazing even from far away.

  • Incredible! Every year they get more & more intricate out there in the playa. I missed it this year... ;-( But thanks cuz that bit brought it all back.

  • wow

  • I was riding out there when I saw it from a distance...so wish I had been there to capture the heat blast!
