I am trying to make a continous circuit with a 6 volt dry batery. with one wire going from the positive to the negative terminal.
I am planning on puting a 1/8 or 1/4 inch gap in the wire between the the terminals. Its not making a big enough spark. Can I use a capacitor and if so how could I rig it up?
I'd suggest setting up multiple capacitors, but not linking their output, just the triggers. That should allow you to get a spark in multiple places at the same time I think.
what i need to make is some way of getting a spark to jump over 4 spark plugs at the same time. can i just link the spark plugs up in parallel?? but then id need a larger spark wont i?? and whont it just jump on 1 spark plug??
You don't need much, a capacitor, some way of charging it (battery, power supply or something.) and some switches or relays (relays would be better if you need them to all spark at the same time.
A diagram would be helpful I imagine, but that's a bit hard on a youtube comment :p
Did you have to take those capacitors out of the cameras, or did you buy them? How big are they? and if so can you use a relay to setup multiple capacitors?
I guess you could maybe use one relay to trigger all of them at once, I'm not sure. I'm not actually all that good at electrical engineering. As for the capacitors, they're just the ones that came with the disposable camera's.

Depends on your setup, I ripped parts outof some disposable cameras so they came with the trigger parts.

If you link them, odds are you just get a spark on the spark plug with the smallest gap. So you need as many systems as you want spark plugs.
Other then that, I can't really tell you much I think.

Yes, they were connected at the point where the flash would normally be.
(And in a few other spots to make them work synchronized.)
