1:23 "it's a little tiny little fork" thats the best part XD Anyway, i was thinking of getting a metal detector and I dont even know where to start! There are so many types to choose from and I dont know which one to get. i want to get one that is not to expensive but is a good finder. Any ideas?
@smoodiver thanks for your reply, I am getting my F2 soon, I wonder if I can just set it for the high end coins and leave all the rest.. I know that gold comes in with some iron and pull tabs but I reckon the amount of time spent digging trash might be better spent looking for coins and leaving just about everything else.. anyway, good luck, hope you find some good stuff too :)
@TonyGreens99 For common targets such as coins, you'll quickly start to recognize what numbers they show up as. I haven't found any gold, but have found quite a few bits of silver, I usually get excited when a target reads into the 80s, most my silver finds have been in the 80s.
The F2 is great at picking up metal of all kinds, but I wouldn't say it's gonna tell you exactly what it's going to be, but you'll eventually start to see patterns.
@nickcolts2 I haven't used it in snow and I do not have much experience with snowy conditions. I use the F2 mostly at the beach, though not in or under water, I'd say the coil is somewhat water resistant, probably not water proof though.
I'm in Wellington, still haven't been out much, way to many people about. I got plenty of old spots in mind, just need to research them a little more, sort out permission and what not.
Apart form my yard I'm mostly detecting beaches, lucky there's no shortage around here.
I'm liking the f2, though I have no experience with any other MDs, I still don't really take much notice of the LCD, I pretty much dig every target.
again...cool finds man well done! I've just brought a F2 myself and I'ts coming wth 3 coils incl the large 11"dd so will be interesting to test it out down on my local hunting spots. Where you from? I fnd researching area's especially old photo sites makes a huge difference to finding cool old stuff.

can't you exclude iron from your searching and save some time for better digging? I am not an expert, just wondering why you dig iron.

@aaaarrrgggghh This was one of my first hunts, iron probably wasn't notched out, I pretty much dug every solid target I could find, still do really.

Did you get your F2 from Kellyco?
Well, take care and happy hunting.
