Here here my man, I have been lucky enough to speak with Steve a few times when he is in Ireland. Admittedly he said that writing the likes of John Walker Blues could have an adverse effect on him making money to which he added "when the fuck have I ever cared what people thought of me anyway". That's why I love the man!!
I'm waiting for the next CD... but with his current touring schedule, that may be a while... I gotta think that its gonna be a electr'fied romp of rock n roll celtic alternative inversions with a uncloaked dose of political insight throw in for good measure..
Again nice job Dave. and with a different edge. It's refreshing to hear people from the States sharing Steve's views on war. On American Boy DVD it just seemed that a certain portion of his fan base over there turned their back on him for choosing to go down the overtly political path. Keep it coming man!!
A certain portion of America has forgotten what values our country was founded upon. Some fans want accessible songs and no pain, but I dont think that is the average Steve Earle fan. Some of them could not figure out the outrage that Steve can conjure up, especially in the Revolution Starts Now.. but the songs hold up well, and damn if I dont become more convinced that Earle is the most important song writer of the century.
Great job on all your videos..Can we get you to do eve of destruction by Barry Mcguire?
