    Form is more important than how much weight you're shifting, shifting heavy weight with bad form is going to do fuck all for you except cause long term damage.

    Correct form is what builds a strong body because correct form is how you hit the correct muscles.

  • Hey man, great job keeping up with Starting Strength! It's really awesome that you're motivated and hope you keep it up. As others have mentioned, you do need to work on your form especially on squat and deadlift. You want your back to be tight. One of the things that help me keep my back tight is to look up when you squat and deadlift. Don't look down as that'll tend to round your back. Also on squat, work on going slightly below parallel. Think like putting more weight towards your heel

  • Your form is horrible for every fucking exercise, your progress is shit for 5 months because of your form. Continue doing this the same way and you will suffer a serious injury.

    Lower the weight by a lot, start from the beginning if you have to. Clean your diet. Watch you form, ask for advice.

  • The weights you started with were way too low. I can tell just from watching this that your starting weight for the bench press should have been more than 45 pounds. You literally looked like you were warming up.

  • As many before me have stated, you have to work on your form. Especially on the squats and the deadlift. You could potentially fuck up your back and posterior chain by doing both with your current form. Get someone to give you pointers. If you see someone squatting or deadlifting at the gym with proper form tell them you are a noob and ask them to watch you and give you some pointers. They will feel good because they teaching someone and you will feel good because your back will still be intact.

  • Good progress, bro. As niggas said, you should work on your form a bit more. Your squat form has improved significantly, but it's still not great. Watch some videos and do stretches to help with flexibility.

    Don't listen to the faggots making fun of your lifts. I assume you're trying to lose weight. That's cool, but you should eat more and follow the linear progression in the SS book, and then worry about losing weight when you're strong. You won't make significant progress if you don't eat.

  • Your form is very poor, and your progress questionable. I would really advise finding a starting strength certified coach or a coach knowledgeable in the big lifts. It would do you well to read the material on the SS site.

    Also, regarding your other video about joining the police academy, you're going to need to cut way down on the body fat if you're going to pass their tests. It would do you well to read Lyle McDonald's site.

Also, you should probably be increasing the weights more once you do get the form down - I think most young men finish their linear progression with something closer to 400-300-200-120 (for reps), so you are probably nowhere close to finishing your LP. By the end of my LP, I was almost benching your deadlift for a 1RM.

    1. Squat form still needs improvement. When you started you were doing good mornings. On either case you are looking up/straight. SS says look down at a spot 6 ft away.

    2. Bench looked too easy. I don't see why someone at your weight only started with the bar. And also why did you switch to dumbbells, that's not SS.

    3. Deadlift when u started you had one hell of a rounded back. Read book please. Then you bend elbows at top and don't lock out.

    4. Rows, you can't even do a full ROM.

    Look at what Zack did on SS, it`s all about three months of linear progress, and he got to perfect form on a 3-plate squat in three months. I did more weight than you with better form when I was 128lb
