Some of what is said is misleading, as a white child in 1960s Rhodesia I was taught Great Zimbabwe was a completely indigenous society. Later I worked in the district commissioners office to the south east of Great Zimbabwe an area where much evidence relating to Great Zimbabwe is yet to be researched

This isn't a fact, but an assumption based on what little evidence there is. There is a mine to the south called Renko mine which I think still operates, I believe it goes down quite a few hundred feet, evidence of shallow mining and refining is dotted around the same area

The Kingdom of Ethiopia had an important role in the world around the time of the Crusades (and at other times!)but there are almost no good books on the region.
