One thing I've learned in my first days in BKK: tuk tuks never take you to where you want, they take you to WHEREVER THEY feel like (for the price they want).

Yes, my very first day in Thailand...way back in '98...we paid a whopping 300 baht from the train station to Kho San Rd. Happy travels!
