I agree, BUT you are only showing secondary roads in the country side (I can tell you stories about Italy, Germany and Norway). You don't see this in main city roads. For the sake of objectivity, you should at least mention it. (I must say that most of your videos-if not all-are pretty objective).

1) Costa Rica is known for its amazing landscapes, rainforest, and biodiversity. You can't experience all these things and expect luxurious roads. "CAN'T HAVE THE CAKE AND EAT IT TOO".
What a load of BS. I have been here 2 years now, I drive all over. I think this video is meant to scare people into using transport companies instead of renting a car. Rent a car and take it easy, almost all roads in the entire central valley are paved and in good shape. The highways are slow going but also paved and well maintained for the most part. And so what if the road is unpaved and a lane ends....if you driving carefully it makes no difference and adds to the adventure.

When I went there for vacations I rented a motorcycle and I won't do it ever again. Is a miracle that I'm alive. The country's geography and corrupt system does little to help to have a good road system.
@matador5135 1) There's corruption in every government. 2) I don't see how he can describe Costa Rican as "terrible drivers", because you need to have great driving skills to drive in Costa Rica. I was there in 2009 before the highway to Jaco was completed. I was soo nervous as we were driving you could see steep drop off the edges. One wrong turn and you're toast!

#2 Continues… we have imagination and if a road lane is stuck because of a car crash (which is common around the world, but seems you have never seen one) we look for a way out, obviously like in any other place of the world there are some smart asses that believe they can do anything or lack of driving experience but this is as common as it is in the US or any other country. Well, I have to say, I live in Florida and I dont think there is a place more scary in the world, we actually have bumper stickers that read " Pray for me , I drive on I 95 ", In Florida we have 2 major highways, I 95 and the Turnpike, people drive at very high speeds, change lanes abruptly, exit the highways at a second's moment and you have a mix of VERY old people still driving, lots of foreigners that cant even read english because they come here on vacation plus all the Latin Americans

If you can't pass a slower vehicle on a blind curve while going uphill, then take the bus. If anything, driving in CR will teach you to keep your eyes open. You should add a night vision clip of cows in the road.

I've been to Costa Rica before, and yeah, the bus driver was crazy, we were driving through these really foggy roads in the mountains at night. It can get a little crazy down there. Fortunately my family's house is out in the country, so crime isn't as big of an issue as in the city.
Actually ur wrong. Ticos are not the worst drivers. It's not there fault that the road makes it difficult for them to drive. I go to costa rica every tear to visit my grandparents and never have I been in an accident. Seen an accident or watched and accident. Yes. Lots and lots of curves. Pot holes. And wet roads. This Is why Tico drivers become so experienced with dangerous roads. U will hardly find an automatic car. All cars are primarily stick shift. Do not attempt to rent a car in costa ric

What a load of BS. I have been here 2 years now, I drive all over. I think this video is meant to scare people into using transport companies instead of renting a car. Rent a car and take it easy, almost all roads in the entire central valley are paved and in good shape. The highways are slow going but also paved and well maintained for the most part. And so what if the road is unpaved and a lane ends....if you driving carefully it makes no difference and adds to the adventure.

When I went there for vacations I rented a motorcycle and I won't do it ever again. Is a miracle that I'm alive. The country's geography and corrupt system does little to help to have a good road system.

#2 Continues… we have imagination and if a road lane is stuck because of a car crash (which is common around the world, but seems you have never seen one) we look for a way out, obviously like in any other place of the world there are some smart asses that believe they can do anything or lack of driving experience but this is as common as it is in the US or any other country. I believe I can drive a lot better than you but that’s just my opinion.

that have no respect for Traffic Laws, Costa Ricans are not the only ones, try driving in Brazil, Argentina, or Eastern Europe, so to say Costa Ricans are the worst drivers in the world is a bit BIAS and inaccurate. It is a place that is almost untouched by humans and if you want to enjoy a GORGEOUS COUNTRY LIKE COSTA RICA, with very friendly people, then just be prepared to be inconvenienced a bit, its no big deal.

Well, I have to say, I live in Florida and I dont think there is a place more scary in the world, we actually have bumper stickers that read " Pray for me , I drive on I 95 ", In Florida we have 2 major highways, I 95 and the Turnpike, people drive at very high speeds, change lanes abruptly, exit the highways at a second's moment and you have a mix of VERY old people still driving, lots of foreigners that cant even read english because they come here on vacation plus all the Latin Americans

If you can't pass a slower vehicle on a blind curve while going uphill, then take the bus. If anything, driving in CR will teach you to keep your eyes open. You should add a night vision clip of cows in the road.

I agree Costarican road are not in good condition but when you decide to visit my country you are agreeing to take some risks...thats why we are a adventure country...if you do not want it... CHUKY CHEESE is good option and safer.

The video has more than a year though so it doesn't show the new road from San Jose to Guanacaste, it's just great, you save up to 1 to 1 1/2 hour and it's in perfect conditions

The roads used were roads 'travelers' would use.....San Ramon to La Fortuna,,,,,the road to Manuel Antonio, Mal Pais. I want to be clear, we love driving here and actually think it's part of the CHARM of Costa Rica, but THESE scenarios are the REALITY here..... btw-this is 95% of STUFF we ran into on our travels, our footage......know what I mean? Money? what money?

Been there done that. indeed seen all of this and more...we live there 6 months of the year and we love it as you do... it's just part of life...HOWEVER tourists need to pay attention!!!!! start driving SLOWER (you guys drive too fast) in order to see these things coming and drive DEFENSIVELY never assume ticos can drive , they still learning , let's give them a good example...HEy guys on your next video end it with

I've been to Costa Rica before, and yeah, the bus driver was crazy, we were driving through these really foggy roads in the mountains at night. It can get a little crazy down there. Fortunately my family's house is out in the country, so crime isn't as big of an issue as in the city.

Actually ur wrong. Ticos are not the worst drivers. It's not there fault that the road makes it difficult for them to drive. I go to costa rica every tear to visit my grandparents and never have I been in an accident. Seen an accident or watched and accident. Yes. Lots and lots of curves. Pot holes. And wet roads. This Is why Tico drivers become so experienced with dangerous roads. U will hardly find an automatic car. All cars are primarily stick shift. Do not attempt to rent a car in costa ric
