  • i need a drink a watah

  • my favorite VM song...the harmonica alone does it for me...plantive & screaming

  • As haunting as the lyrics are, the blues riff and rhythm, and just the music in general gives you the feeling of being sleep deprived, like you've been driving all through the night. This IS the kind of song that if you were to play this on the radio you would HAVE to play it at night. @6925thcobras - I completely agree, that's the best way to describe this song. It truly does bring out the pain in your soul.

  • HE SOUNDS LIKE THE ROLLING STONES

BETTER THEN THEY COULD EVER HAVE DONT IN THEIR WHOLE LIFE TIME DISCOGRAPHY.

VAN MORRISON DID IT IN ONE SONG

  • Anyone know the lineup on this masterpiece?

  • This song isn't about the blues. This song is about watching someone dying of tuberculosis. And telling them not to cry about it; "it ain't natural." And someone being able to smell that sickness on the sickbed sheets, and not being able to breathe "crack the window, I can't breathe!" Can you see why it haunts me now?

  • This song haunts me.

  • Watch Van sing this live : search for Van Morrison TB Sheets live

  • " I.B BANGIN' LORD!"

  • Like a beautiful woman's dirty barefeet in your face, this song envokes all that is harsh and majestic in the darkness of our lives.

  • Love this song. Reminds me of hot nights without air. ;)

  • @6ollie66 Van has done heaps of blues since this check out some of the clips on my site on Youtube Vossmeister Albums like Too long in Exile, Keep it simple, Back op top, the Philosopher's Stone all have blues on them. Practically all his live shows have blues tracks in Them. Martin Scorcese's Red White & Blues DVD The British Invasion have Van doing "lot's of blues. Van is still blues.

  • What year did this come out?

  • This is a sexy song......lyrics arent but the is

  • One of the scariest and yet best rock song ever. Masterpiece.

  • He casually exposes himself as a cold-hearted son-of-a-bitch, which makes this piece doubly chilling.

  • Can somebody fix this post...there are a few weird gaps/pauses around the 1:20 mark.

  • Oh, Lord.

  • super cool...

  • Always felt early Van's phrasing borrowed from John Lee Hooker's

  • @dave10524 "T.B. Sheets" is written and recorded by Van Morrison in 1967 and included on his first solo album, Blowin' Your Mind! , later covered by John Lee Hooker on his 1972 album, Never Get Out of These Blues Alive.

  • @jamexcel I know Van wrote TB Sheets, the singing style is reminicient of Hooker, I have some video of Hooker and Van doing a couple of duets on a dock along a river, it is obvious that Van looks up to Hooker as a student would a mentor

  • I been waiting to hear this again for 20 years!.

  • such a disturbing story/song...hypnotically depressing but I can't stop playing it.

  • @dejiabbis Same here ! haha

  • @dejiabbis same here bud heard it on brining out the dead what a tune.

  • Great upload but guarantee it won't last. Not sure why, but this song always ends up getting pulled. First heard it on the Bringing Out the Dead soundtrack, finally bought the album late last year, worth every penny, just for this track alone.

  • girl dying from tuberculosis - rumor is that van had trouble finishing the song because he would break into tears during the recording

  • anyone know what this song is about? what is a tb sheet?

  • probably the sheets on her bed infected with turberculosis-which is what TB stands for

  • @shutemdwn

    TB = Tuberculosis.

Her sheets are infected with tuberculosis. He is visiting her and feeling the ultimate anxiety from being able to "almost smell" the infection. Watching someone die and not wanting to breathe in the same air. Denial.
