I was taught to lunge slowly with your legs starting off alongside the head. Make's it easier to clamp the arms at the end because the lunge brings you to the casualty's level.
Yes but if they stop breathing then your first priority is to get them out of the water, MikeyM91 because you can't do CPR (compressions) in the water, only rescue breaths. To get them out quickly you'd have to lift out without spinal board.
you dont walk with the casualty. you have to support the head and wait for other lifeguard to come and take the head for support. then wait for collar to be applied.or spinal borad
i noticed a few of u arguing im not the best lifeguard but u supost to
u supost to grab there left and right arm between the joint n the elbo so when u do the splint ur hands nest to there earsand you roll them toward but you have to hold them with to hands all times ur lifeguard team will suport the bodyso u did it corectly except the part i mensioned the other 2 grips the bar hug and vise you have to go under water to get them but for the splint u dont

Unless the casualty is not breathing. If casualty is not breathing you don't care and just start CPR.

first of all, she let go, second of all you move wih the victim, and thrid you get in the water down with them with your head above water
randomgirl007 4 years ago 2

its called a vise grip
NavySealSniper25 4 years ago
I think you'll find its not. The vice grip is a deep water recovery and this is shallow. But yes, she let go. A big no no.

Its called a head splint, or sometimes a log roll.
glennRIR 4 years ago
@glennRIR actually a log roll is when you they are on land and when they are vomiting you turn them on there side , that is a log roll
