@jamiemullan he has one more year at 1.4 million, regardless of whether he plays in the AHL or NHL, I doubt he will retire until then, and if he were bought out it would cost the rangers the 1.4 million on the salary cap since the contract was signed after his 35th birthday. That's the cap situation, the good news is he can have a cozy seat in the AHL for one more season without affecting the Rangers cap. Wouldn't you collect those final paychecks if you were Brashear? And lastly what a career!

Despite the fact he won the series against Domi he didn´t inflicted serious damage or any KO and in the playoffs game Brashear turtled as soon as he realised Domi was going to hammer him with the left hand. Against Probert, and when Bob was in Detroit Brashear refused to go toe to toe and almost got KO´d by Probbie. Simon smashed him when Brashear was in Montreal. McGrattan always dominated him, with Ray things were closed for both contenders

Honestly, Lararque won him, hit Brash ruthlessly but in one fight he did let Brashear to get up. Against Belak, Brashear always in trouble, the same with Cairns. He has been one of the best but he never inflicted any KO or TKO to the best enforcers, too much hugging and hammering with the left hand but always afraid to go toe to toe

Read properly, Scooter: BODY PUNCHES ARE OK. Heard anytime about "the Code"? Kocur, Parker, Boogaard and plenty of other RESPECTED fighters liked to use punches to the body. Saying that these punches are cheap is the most dumbest thing I've ever heard. This was a good fair scrap and huggy clearly lost it.

marty mcsorley was another fighter who liked to give body shots, especially vs taller opponents. twister & basil mcrae too. some like laraque and mick vukota do a body slam.
one thing not good though is kicking or kneeing an opponent in a fight like semenko did vs tim hunter a few years back.
