  • @Dodo5981 I do a lot of stretches 4 times a week, hamstrings and lover back stretches, that will help you lots and a good warm up before you workout

    any other lifts you would recommend for building good hip pop? im pretty solid on clean and jerks, but sometimes i feel like when i go heavy im pulling up the bar with my arms too much, and not explosive enough hip wise. thanks alot. and great power snatch!

  • @El2lk Well hang power snatch would be good for building up hip pop and also power clean or power snatch from high blocks will help that a lot too

  • @dario2004 i think the problem with you not feeling your hips pop is because the position your arms get into. You start to bend them and thats not bad but when you go from the floor you will keep them strait. But if you get in a habit of bending them you will pull your self under the bar before you even get to the power post. Not really a fan of the "athletic arm-bend" as Harvey Newton denotes it.

The only thing that gives you strength however is good food, rest, hard work and determination. Not some dude from a fairytale merely put together to make people feel their life and life itself have som sort of meaning.

  • @Tjockman Actually, whether you believe in God or not, there are many studies out there that show that a large part of being able to lift great ammounts of weight is having a good mental approach. I would surmise that if you think something or someone(God, Buddah, whatever you believe in) is out there helping you, you are probably going to lift more weight.

  • @vikingfootball92 Sure, a good mental approach is needed to perform at your very best. I know that, I use "mental strength" every time I'm about to lift heavy, altough I use a little different tactic, usually I tell myself that I suck if I don't succeed, and that there are people that r much stronger then me out there, so if I don't succeed at the weight I have my mind on, I'm nothing compared 2 them. And I believe in myself, my friends, and science.

If he had a strong belief in, lets say, a banana, and thought that would help him, he would benefit from it just as much.
