What I love about him is that he actually 'pitches' the ball. As apposed to someone such as Nolan Ryan and Roger Clemens (don't hold me to it) who more along the lines were more of throwers not pitchers. I mean, come on, you steam one by someone at 101-103 mph of course it's going to be hard as all get out to put a bat on it, but to place a ball that dances like the tango with pinpoint accuracy. That's class.
one of the best pitchers ever. I have attended 40 MLB games over the past 4 years and every time I have seen the Cubs or Dodgers, he was never pitching. I wish I would have had the chance to see him pitch.
Let's not forget about his fielding skills! 18 Gold Gloves to his credit (including winning it 13 straight times). He was/is the most complete pitcher of the modern era. He will be a first ballot, unanimous Hall of Fame inductee.
Gregg Maddux= Greatest Pitcher of this past decade. Drug free, tough as nails, and a mercenary. Relied of precision pitches, Pin Point Accuracy, and Prooved that an old dogg can learn new tricks. Any one Remember that wicked curveball he was using after the 2002 season? Truly the best pitcher for the past 20 years. Please Maddux dont retire. but I respect your decision! I will cherish all your jerseys and the autograph I got from you back in 05. Truly the most professional and model player ever!
i love his wind up... not that it is impressive mechanical wise, but it just goes to show how you dont need to be throwing 95 in the majors to have a MLB career as a pitcher... he doesnt need to put a lot of effort behind his fastball because the kind of stuff that he carries with him is rediculous... yeah i know hes in a slump... but guys are just getting lucky off of him... he'll get some more wins
look at this man, he dont need to throw 95. pitching is a art, and greg maddux proves that. he'll throw a 85 mph fastball then a changeup, it's all timing!
what song is playing right at the beginning?
