I loved Kyou and Tomoyo a million times better than Nagisa...the love stories and emotions were just so much better. They should make one series for each girl, LOL.
as a matter of fact, her hair is getting to grow, yeah. and in fact, clannad showed up on public on 2004 which means this episode was written on 2004. now, it has past over 7 years since clannad showed up on public, so kyou's current hair has grown back to long completely.

althought nagisa is the main heroine, and i like her alot...but... i still think both tomoya and kyou would be better choices. NOW im not saying i dont like nagisa and how shes with tomoya in the end, its the plot and i loved the ending but both tomoya and kyou are prettier and much more mature than nagisa. so...this is just my own opinion

@lynnluv123 It's one of the alternate true routes. Technically Nagisa is the real route (since After Story route assumes you went for Nagisa) and the rest of the routes where you get orbs are alternate good ends. The anime goes through Nagisa's route while showing bits and pieces of the other routes (mostly introductions and some motivations, like Tomoyo's reason for joining that particular school). Obviously, things like the love triangle from Kyou's route are never touched.
actually, nagisa's path also stands as one of true endings. KEY just described her path mainly, so it seems nagisa's one is real, but other endings that happen orbs also stand on same position as nagisa.

I absolutely wanted them to be married in an alternate ending, but I've come up with a way so they can. My idea is that they could start dating because she's Ushio's kindegarten teacher and they did love each other. So it could've happened and I would absolutely love it if they did.

So is this the true ending or the Nagisa one.
I like to think its this one because Kyou rules but the (Perfect) Nagisa ending where she is brought back to life seems to get the most support to do with the true ending.

I'm more for the action-side of watching anime but even a person like me thinks this is good. I last tried watching episode 1 and after that an anime called beelzebub( its like an opposite side of clannad, full of action) its kinda hard to follow: first Romance and then action. People should try it
I always have question to people who think such as you, but why does kyou need to end up with tomoya with long hair? no matter how long hair is, kyou is kyou. tomoya also told kyou he loved kyou no matter how long her hair was because he thought short or semi-long haired kyou was also cute and he knew kyou's hair was growing up.

I think Tomoya was still in a bit of shock that Kyou was the one standing in front of him when he thought it was Ryou...and to be honest, I don't think there's much he could say when she's telling him about everything. His "unh" responses just don't convey that sense of ultimate understanding between them both to me =P
you are completely jealous because you do not understand what tomoya was thinking at all. do you really understand what kyou said on confession scene? tomoya saw kyou's crying and she told him she decided to go forward and told him her true feeling, "I love you, Tomoya." When he understood and accepted it, he completely broke up with ryou.

besides, Tomoyo After is the after story of Tomoyo's episode on original CLANNAD. Mr.Maeda who wrote tomoyo's episode said that. He said he wanted to write tomoyo's life more because Maeda liked tomoyo personally.
@gino14 There's 2 versions of the game: 18+ version (eroge) and an all age version. The 18+ version pretty much ends like this except the ending is vague but gives a strong indication that he did die. The all age version has the ending that where Tomoya instead of dying goes into a coma and wakes up.
tomoya dies on both versions of tomoyo after because all-age version is based on 18+ version so the ending is the same. he dies on 18+ version on tomoyo after that is original version. he got accident when he was working and got surgery but it failed.
there are two words which are solid proofs that show his death on tomoyo's after.
first, tomoyo's word "I now start to talk the story when was long time ago, and it still shines and shines" comes to introduction which means tomoyo's recollection and tomoya has already dead when tomoyo began to talk.
second, tomoya said to tomoyo " I "was" happy because of you. thank you." on ending. you know why he said "was", don't you? because he realized he would die soon at that time.

However, its still interesting how the Nagisa and Tomoyo after stories are so depressing, but Kyou gets a better ending and she's my least favorite of the three. Tragic stories are more appealing to the audiences I guess.

@101skysea202 Yeah - Jun Maeda, if I remember right, has a reputation for being very good at writing tragedies, hence all the stuff that happens in Nagisa's and Tomoyo's pasts and After Stories, or in AIR and Kanon. I guess Mr. Kai isn't that sort of writer? I don't know much about him.
In the VN, Kyou pretends to be Ryou in the rain outside, and then she reaches up to kiss Tomoya, at first he refuses but then he realizes who it really is and goes along with it, I didn't like the OVA to much, should of been much longer then 20 minutes. more like a film or a couple of episodes.
@Colton5 The song is called "Ana", and is the identical one used for Clannad: Another World--Tomoyo Chapter. It works best with Tomoyo's ending if you ask me...as their coming together happens in the wintertime during a heavy, wet, snow. The song has a haunting, almost fairytale like quality to it that works with the snowfall and Tomoyo's barren Cherry Trees. That said, let's see. We have a Summertime love with Nagisa, a Wintertime one with Tomoyo, and Springtime w/ Ryou-Kyou. Who's Autumn???
@Colton5 I think that one should be a Kotomi Chapter...but that's been sort of done already in the original series. At least hinted at. Still couldn't hurt to try it...since in all likelihood...if Tomoya and Kotomi hadn't been separated after Kotomi's parent's death and that fire, they would've grown up and became a couple before Nagisa entered the picture. You could see it during that Sunday in the Library Tomoya spent with Kotomi.
@Luvcreole I wish they would do a Tomoya and kotomi arc. Cause if Tomoya didn't go with Nagisa i would say the next girl that would be perfect is a tie between Kotomi and Kyou. Tomoya works perfect with either one, but Nagisa is the best : ) she fits him perfectly.

ryou has blue eyes and kyou has purple eyes, and they also have different shapes of eyes.
ryou got ribbon on the right side of hair while kyou got ribbon on the left side of hair.
their ways to talk is also different.

This would've been the perfect ending! Ryou is my favourite heroine from clannad by far (tsundere yea!)
but still, pretty awkward that this would've been also the only ending without having one of the lovers pass away..

A shame there is no special for Kotomi, but her story is pretty well covered in the original series.
The only difference is that they did not become a couple and kiss at the end like in the Visual Novel.

I'm more for the action-side of watching anime but even a person like me thinks this is good. I last tried watching episode 1 and after that an anime called beelzebub( its like an opposite side of clannad, full of action) its kinda hard to follow: first Romance and then action. People should try it

I always have question to people who think such as you, but why does kyou need to end up with tomoya with long hair? no matter how long hair is, kyou is kyou. tomoya also told kyou he loved kyou no matter how long her hair was because he thought short or semi-long haired kyou was also cute and he knew kyou's hair was growing up.

you are just misunderstanding because tomoya's "yeah" on here means "I understand what you feel. me too. I love you." you'll know it if you watch original kyou's episode. and, he is smiling, not staring blankly.
tomoya and kyou have known each other for a long time since they were a junior year, so they don't need so much words to understand each other.

@lovekeyandclannad He's not smiling...look at 1:22 and 1:36, he just has a =| face. I think Tomoya was still in a bit of shock that Kyou was the one standing in front of him when he thought it was Ryou...and to be honest, I don't think there's much he could say when she's telling him about everything. His "unh" responses just don't convey that sense of ultimate understanding between them both to me =P

you are completely jealous because you do not understand what tomoya was thinking at all. do you really understand what kyou said on confession scene? tomoya saw kyou's crying and she told him she decided to go forward and told him her true feeling, "I love you, Tomoya." When he understood and accepted it, he completely broke up with ryou.
ryou told him not to apologize her and she also understood which means ryou decided to cheer kyou and tomoya. tomoya replied "thank you".

I promised to go shopping with ryou. next time, please" with smiling and he also smiled to reply "no problem. we still have much time to share our loves." , he felt embarrased when he got kyou's kiss, and he smiled to reply "me, too" when kyou smiled and told him "it's because I love you"!?

kyou and ryou are twins and look similar, besides, the girl in front of him was watching at floor on dark classroom while he was talking, so it is no more help that he thought he was talking to ryou.
he was just surprised when he saw the girl in front of him was kyou because he didn't imagine kyou cut her hair to make sure his feeling.
then, he understood her strong love to him and accepted it.

now, as you see, couples goes to happy ending normally such as kyou, kotomi, and yukine.
nagisa has dead because she was originally a weak and often got ill.
tomoya on tomoyo's after got death because tomoya got accident when he was working.
both death of nagisa and tomoyo episodes have reasons, you know.

@gino14 There's 2 versions of the game: 18+ version (eroge) and an all age version. The 18+ version pretty much ends like this except the ending is vague but gives a strong indication that he did die. The all age version has the ending that where Tomoya instead of dying goes into a coma and wakes up.

tomoya dies on both versions of tomoyo after because all-age version is based on 18+ version so the ending is the same. he dies on 18+ version on tomoyo after that is original version. he got accident when he was working and got surgery but it failed.

there are two words which are solid proofs that show his death on tomoyo's after.
first, tomoyo's word "I now start to talk the story when was long time ago, and it still shines and shines" comes to introduction which means tomoyo's recollection and tomoya has already dead when tomoyo began to talk.
second, tomoya said to tomoyo " I "was" happy because of you. thank you." on ending. you know why he said "was", don't you? because he realized he would die soon at that time.

@legendmanable Okay I'll take your word for it. Perhaps in my heart I was still clinging to that single thread of hope that Tomoya was still alive. However, its still interesting how the Nagisa and Tomoyo after stories are so depressing, but Kyou gets a better ending and she's my least favorite of the three. Tragic stories are more appealing to the audiences I guess.

if you are talking about nagisa's after story, that is wrong and he's talking about tomoyo's after story.
then, a couple of new graphics Mr. Maeda put into the last scenes on tomoyo's after on PS2, PSP, and so on were not original (CD) tomoyo's after. After Maeda declared tomoya died on tomoyo's after on public, he also said he wanted tomoyo fans to interpret the ending freely. now, you know why he said "freely", don't you?

I agree because everyone knows there's no accident and no death on kyou's path.
in addition to that, the person who wrote kyou's path was Mr. Kai, and the person who wrote tomoyo's path was Mr.Maeda, so authors are also different.

@101skysea202 Yeah - Jun Maeda, if I remember right, has a reputation for being very good at writing tragedies, hence all the stuff that happens in Nagisa's and Tomoyo's pasts and After Stories, or in AIR and Kanon. I guess Mr. Kai isn't that sort of writer? I don't know much about him.

In the VN, Kyou pretends to be Ryou in the rain outside, and then she reaches up to kiss Tomoya, at first he refuses but then he realizes who it really is and goes along with it, I didn't like the OVA to much, should of been much longer then 20 minutes. more like a film or a couple of episodes.

@Colton5 The song is called "Ana", and is the identical one used for Clannad: Another World--Tomoyo Chapter. It works best with Tomoyo's ending if you ask me...as their coming together happens in the wintertime during a heavy, wet, snow. The song has a haunting, almost fairytale like quality to it that works with the snowfall and Tomoyo's barren Cherry Trees. That said, let's see. We have a Summertime love with Nagisa, a Wintertime one with Tomoyo, and Springtime w/ Ryou-Kyou. Who's Autumn???

@Colton5 I think that one should be a Kotomi Chapter...but that's been sort of done already in the original series. At least hinted at. Still couldn't hurt to try it...since in all likelihood...if Tomoya and Kotomi hadn't been separated after Kotomi's parent's death and that fire, they would've grown up and became a couple before Nagisa entered the picture. You could see it during that Sunday in the Library Tomoya spent with Kotomi.
