  • tell me how to use it.. give picture/video.. please i try not work...

  • i really want the 8800 :P

  • geez thanx it worked for me too, the commandline thing

  • im getting frame skips on my gtx 460 how do i fix?

  • GOOD JOB !!! it's Worked in my PC., i get fps 30 - 40 but when in vehicle the game always Stutters after every 5 - 10 Seccond.

finaly i get your command line :

3 thing i needed for Remove stutters from you is :

    -refreshrate 31

    -framelimit 1

    -norestriction

Its 100% worked for me.. Thank YOu Very Much PCVIDEOGAMER :D

  • I played through half the games no problems at all, but right after I installed Microsoft Office Suite then I started having this problem. I have no idea how they are related but I had absolutely NO problems until I installed Microsoft Office.

  • Doesn't work for me. Tried with -noprecache as well.

I have a gameplay of it btw...

  • what about disabling hyperthreading in bios? i actually had stuttering problem a few days ago on bf3 and by doing that it actuallu helped.

  • damn I want your card. I have x4500

  • I've got a HD 6950 2 GB and I get this too. It is so f**king annoying. I will try using enb's forcenvidiacard option and see if it helps.

  • @Deathmastertx

No it doesn't work for me

  • cpu?

  • Comment removed

  • ATTENTION! Buying a nw HDD will improve your fps and so will disalbing crossfire, A 7200rps Blue WD is preffered. Use to have major stuttering with crossfire 6870 , i7930, 6gbs of ram, after disabling crossfire i still got stuttering but a higher fps, buying a new hdd gave me 60 fps now flat.

  • Help me Please ;( i play this Game in Medium High Settings 30-50FPS on My PC

    core i3 540 @3.07GHz

    Win 7 Ultimate x64

    Nvidia GT240

BFBC2 Runs Smooth Like Silk in medium high.

my frames stutter when my vehicle runs so fast and when im panning the Camera ;(

  • game doesnt use crossfire btw

  • dont bother to fix it, this is the 1 and only thing i hate from ati cards, i got stutter from all my ati cards (4670, 5670, 4870, and 5770), and no stutter from all my nvidia cards (8500gt, 9500gt, and 9600gt). yes.. i own all that cards and play almost every games. if ur local store dont mind.. benchmark ur new ati card with GPU CAPS VIEWER before u buy it.. it will show the stutter clearly, and if the ati card dont show stutter.. grab it quick.. lol

  • I test this now, and if it doesn't work

    :PangGunToHead:

  • Try to set settings to low , or just try "-norestricts"

BTW: Have you tried with 1x 4870?

  • Hi every one

I got the new solution for Gta iv Stuttering

You need atleast 2GB ram 512 Graphic And core 2 2.4GHZ processor

Most of stuttering in gta iv case of xlive.dll which make the game to run save game from offline account without verification. if you are using xlive.dll remove that from Gta iv directory it works for me and many other people

    If work please replay

  • i get those but on runescape

  • Thanks for the fix! <3

  • I have a 5770 and i get this shit on this game and Cod4.

  • @wesclev83 Yeah, ATI killed my COD4 game, I thought I was the only one...

  • micro stuttering i think the problem is by SLI and crossfire systems but Nvidia fix it ATI not

  • I fixed my stuttering problem by creating a notepad file and renaming it commandline where the GTA IV exe is. Inside type:

    -refreshrate 31

    -framelimit 1

    -norestriction

    -nomemrestrict

Runs as smooth as hell on max settings. Of course I have a kick ass computer as well but even so I was getting stutters. Try it, you might fix yours.

  • @suspendmeassholes I haven't played for long yet but I think this fixed it for me. thanks bro

  • @MrAleckazee glad I could help!

  • @suspendmeassholes I dont understand completely..

so, I need to make a .txt and past this in it? and put it in gta iv directory?

    please explane, thx!! I got a I7 920 and hd4870 6gb RAM btw.

  • @rarf2142 Right click in the directory where the GTA IV exe is, select new > text document, paste what I typed into it and name the file commandline. That's it : ) It should run real smooth on your machine.

  • Hi 7, it's about the thing, u first ran it on a gtx 8800 and the system saved, to run it on a 8800 gtx and that means, it only runs on 1 4870 (it must run smoothly on 1 at all) but the main problem is not the Hardware, it's Windows.

  • -memrestrict 188743680 LOW TEXTURES (256M Video Cards)

    -memrestrict 209715200

    -memrestrict 230686720

-memrestrict 262144000 MED TEXTURES (512M Video Cards)

    -memrestrict 293601280

    -memrestrict 314572800

-memrestrict 629145600 HIGH TEXTURES (1Gig+ Video Cards)

    -memrestrict 650117120

    -memrestrict 681574400

Try This ihad also tried and workd for me

  • i really want to play this game but my laptop not strong enough to play this game i just have intel pentium(R) Dual-Core Cpu T4200 @ 2.00GHz ....can you help me

  • Hey man , my Game runs great ! , no frame skipping , but my PC is very very low end. 20 - 30fps.

    GPU: ATI 3850 AGP 512mb

    CPU: Amd Athlon x2 3800+ @2.5ghz

    RAM: Kingstone 2GB

Hard Disk: WD Raptor's x2 running at 10.000rpm Each in Raid 0 .

  • Yeah i have the problem too,i have i7 920 2.66GHz,HD5970,6GB ram, and when im not getting 75 frames the games skipps, stutters, and i have avarage 64 fps on V High settings :/

  • @badboy95688, good enough specs there, what speed is your HDD? i had some improvement with an SSD, the game has to shuffle about so much in the way of textures as it updates the city and road etc as you drive along, but there should be provisions for this in program code, i.e updates for the exe/game which should compensate, unfortunately i think this particular game on the PC is a hog and demands the ultimate hard ware which for most of us is another 2 years away before we get smooth visuals.

  • @pcvideogamer you mean harddrive? im from Poland so i cant understand couple of things :D

  • @badboy95688 yes thats it, hard drive, look for "solid state drives" in google

  • @pcvideogamer Actually, it doesn't access the hard drive at all during gameplay, except for saving points. It is all loaded into the memory. That's why GTA4 use 2GB or RAM (The most that any PC game I have played has used, Crysis uses 1.5GB) Infact, it is a big fallacy in the world of PC gaming, the idea that a faster hard drive will result in better 3d graphics performance.

  • @wootlanter yes i agree with some of your points there, sadly not all games were created equal and when textures etc are loading into memory some games don't load 'all' their resources at once and so need to access the oodles of free virtual hard-drive ram/space to compensate for those with lesser machines and smaller amounts of ram, SSD are memory modules themselves so it's getting better all round and with optimized code and game engines plus gigs & gigs of ram it's now a thing of the past.

  • @pcvideogamer I don't think the hard drive will make that big of a difference, it depends on how much RAM you have.

I have 2GB and tomorrow i am upgrading to 4GB 1600mhz so i am hoping i will have some improvement.

  • @wootlanter With SSDs you can have a ridiculously large pagefile, though. Pagefiles are basically RAM stored in your HDD/SSD. On an HDD they usually keep it to a minimum because they're so slow, however with an SSD you can have several gigabytes. This speeds up games that use pagefile RAM immensely, especially if you have a relatively low amount of RAM to start out with (so it has to use pagefile).

  • @wootlanter So what do you recommend ?

Does turning the page file off help ?

  • @wout14gmaildotcom I dunno. I think the guy who I was replying to was probably right, in that textures are being streamed off the hard drive during gameplay. But I honestly don't think even the fastest PCI express solid state drive would be able to load those up without stuttering the way it does. SSDs are fast, but they 'aint as fast as memory is. The ideal solution would be to have 32GB or 64GB of RAM (lol!) and be able to use your actual memory as temporary disk space.

  • @wootlanter GTA IV is a strange game, i can play the game without stutters, but then there are very much pop ins.

  • @badboy95688 Hey, I have identical specs to you except my i7 920 is running at 3.2ghz, my game also stutters.

  • @smashingpumpkin1986 this sucks dude, why ATI cant fix that up? its a big problem in my opinion

  • I'm having stutter problem with my I7 920 @ 4Ghz and 3x2Gb 1333Mhz DDR3 @1520Mhz and Radeon HD5830... i have 100 fps when it doesn't stutter... I just hope someone finds a fix to this.

  • dual gpu making stutter

  • This looks Exactly like GTA4 on my PS3 when running it. Except for around 1:21. R* fucked up with PS3/PC.

  • its not your pc its the game.

this game is a crappy port. it is fun but not worth it imo. even with really good pc this game still fails.

  • this has to be unfortenetly THE most unstable pc game ever... never ran to so much trouble with it... wish i downloaded it instead of buying it.. piece of crap. (got stuttering aswell) 5870 and i7

  • @NGT2O6, yeah i agree, my card running this was a 4870x2 (your 5870 is better or about the same really) and i used an i7 920(OC) and i didn't get stutter and i think i know what, the addition of one SSD intel 80Gig boot drive device which i installed windows 7-64 and one or two games, the texture throughout from drive to board and card was doubled and so i eliminated stutter (this may be the reason) i used an ASUS-Striker Extreme II mobo, v-good... good luck dude

  • yeah i have 5870m in my laptop and it microstutters in this game for some reason

  • хаааа это просто выебанный бред!

  • I have the exact same issue with my 4870x2. I used to have a 8800GTS G92 and it didn't have this problem at all. This obviously cannot be linked to memory or HDD. Have you figured out a way to make it go away?

  • @wildbloodydragon, i haven't played the game in a while on this system i have right now, i hope it may have been drivers and game-updates which solved the issue (hopefully)

  • @pcvideogamer It hasn't. I downloaded new drivers just yesterday.

  • Hmm weird. Just installed my GTA IV on Windows 7 64 bit. It runs like a madmen just constant 50 FPS no shutters. I use :

    i5-750 at 4ghz

    4870X2

    4 GIG RAM @ 1600

And ofcourse all drivers updated to last versions.

  • @bekhouwe8888, yes this is good, when i last used this game over a year ago we didn't have the latest patches or drivers (or in fact hardware) so as you say, upgrading such things will help immensely, cheers

  • @bekhouwe8888 the fuck? im on a i7, HD5850, 6gb 1333 ram and it stutters like a bitch. and the graphics looks like ps1 graphics on my 24 inch monitor. FMD

  • @p0kgai Hmm strange, Your hardware is not the problem you should get 50+ fps. Seems like you have to patch up the game or upgrade your system drivers. And make sure you have the latest dx version for your system.

  • i have that problem with windows 7 32 bit, all on low settings, doesn't work

my brother has same specs, but he has windows 7 64 bit ...

  • the nvidia drivers dont help either, seriously it sounds silly but try the 169 and 184 drivers, i had this in gta4 and re5 and changing to old drivers helped.

  • the most un-optimised game ever made, shit game shit producer, shit thing!

  • No matter what i do mine still shutters!!!, I did benchmarks and I get average frames of 33.3 per second on maxxed out includeing view distance at 1080p, seems Farcry2 has the same problem when on Dx10 mode...average 79FPS but shutter when the camera is following a car or moving durring a cut seen, when the camera doesnt move non of the animation jumps. WTF, my guess it would be the games are bias toward Nvidia cards,

  • Lucky me i don't have this problem i have an Nvidia 9600 590MB and i use like 276/490 and i have like 50 fps :D

  • Same problem here. got 4870 1gb ddr5. Catalyst 10.3. Look's like it came after drivers update. Any solutions?

  • I have the same problem i have an m17x-r2 maxed out with the 4870x2 8gb of ram and i7 extreme my laptop should be able to handle this game with no problem but it doesnt and the only way i can have pretty good framerates is when i have catalyst ai on which causes my screen to flicker abruptly and i'm trying to find a way to overclock but i cant find one ive tried atitool and rivatuner and those seem not to work

  • FUUUUCK i got a powercolor hd 4850 and gta iv is fucking unplayable.

The lag happens every 2 seconds which is worse than lagging shown in this vid!

  • @bati555 i have the HD5670 and same exact problem as you and the video!! GTA 4 jdoes not run with ATI cards, i had a GTS 250 and ran at Max settings!! i used "-nonmemrestrict" hack which alows you to go beyond the amount of Video card memory and it used 1.6GB of Video Ram to run the game!! my video card had 1GB of Ram meaning it used 600MB of system Ram and it still hit 30-40fps!!

Warning: Dual-Core CPU + ATI Card = Your Screwed Quad-Core CPU + Nvidia Card = Heaven

  • on fallout 3 i get great framerates. but then with the fucking stutter. i'm downloading the latest drivers and see if that helps.

  • it wont..ive tried everything i fucking can..fuck ati im going back to nvidia...ati is a piece of shit now -.-

  • @catman1233 Not ATI's fault. Rockstars fault for making such a crappy game that can't support all graphicscards-.-

  • wow Freaking irritating.

  • @adamknox I disabled norton security but doesnt seem to help. I still got these random stutters, I think gta 4 is just badly ported because i can play other games perfectly.

  • FML, runs great on my piss-old 3850hd, and stutters like heck on a gtx260. You can even set view distance to 100 due to 1792mb video memory..

But what use it is when the screen freezes for 0.2 sec every five seconds or so? Stupid.

  • I've the same issue on my core i7 (4ghz). Its less terrible on windows 7 than on XP but still there are stutters. I think these are the so called microstutters. It seems when disabling catalyst AI and enabling it seems to remove sometimes these stutters because sometimes I can play for hours without any stutter and sometimes I get these same stutter you are experiencing. Imo I'll never go back to ATI, they have given me more problems than enjoyment but then again it's my opinion.

  • @qwato just out of intrest do you have AVG? I had LOADS of stuttering on oblivion + fallout 3 -_- untill i told AVG not to scan in the gaming folder (even tho i had disabled it -_- ) and it worked a treat :D

  • @adamknox Hmm, I aint got AVG but I do got Norton internet security. I'll try to disable it when playing GTA 4 maybe it will get rid of those annoying stutters.

  • yeah seriosuly it could help ya out! Look for ANYTHING that does a constant scan on your Hard drive (spyware, resident scans etc) and just see if you can disable it from looking in the .exe folder :D i hope it works for ya :)

  • I know the fix bro, you have windows 7?

  • yeah i have windows 7 and im having the stuttering problem with my 8500 gt

  • Cant wait for Red Dead Redemtion 2

  • NVIDIA SUCKS 5970 pWN

  • I never had this stuttering problem, then I decided to upgrade processor to quad core over my e8400. GTA still seemed to play good, didn't play it long, couple days later I upgrade to catalyst 9.12 drivers, then finally buy the steam version, and uninstall retail. Now all of a sudden the once smooth game is a stuttering damn mess. Seems bad when looking around with mouse. When game first loads it's fine...what th ehell

  • Nvidia FTEW (for the epic win :D)

  • how gb ram? 4?

  • Having the same problem on a 8600m gt 256mb gddr3. And i've played it before without stuttering with higher settings than i use now.

  • ok so my Nice Vista Insiron 1545 runs the game slow now i know its not a gaming computer but, can anyone tell me that if i download gta 4 again it will be faster slower or the same speed

  • This is happening to me too! D: I have an i7, a 7,200 RPM HDD, 3 gigs/RAM, and a HD 4870. I am so annoyed with stutters that I have stopped playing GTAIV all together!

  • Runs just fine on my 285gtx

  • This is a high texture setting case i think. I got Sapphire Radeon 4850 Vapor-X 1GB and when i set textures to high, it stutters like hell!

  • im currently facing this problem after upgrading my card from a 9800gtx to a GTS 250. anyone have any idea on what i should do?

  • upgrade? i may be wrong... but wasn't the GTS 250 the rebranded 9800 GTX? I think u just got ur old card replaced by the same thing..

  • 8800GT>9800GT>9800GTX>9800GTX+>GTS 250.

There also is the 8800 GTS and I don't know if 8800 GTX and 9800 GTS exist.

  • I had the same trouble, the stutter did not stop even after I defragmented the hard drive.

The problem exists even if I transfer the hard drive's image onto a faster drive.

There is only one fix for this - uninstall and re-install the game.

  • until you dont have great games to play because you can not upgrade that Kids Machine.

  • i know how to fix it!!!! u have to download the hotfix for caylyst 9.8 it works stutter free for me now!!!! yay

  • This game for PC pisses me off. When you freshly install it, it runs perfect. Give it a few days, add a few custom tracks and it starts to stutter. Pisses me off!!

  • Well i think the problem is you or your Machine...

  • What do you mean ME? It was my hard drive. You need a Velociraptor hard drive.

What are your comp specs? BTW fuck ATi.

  • Fuck ATI? LOL i7920, 4G Ram, ATI 4870 1G. But you may run it with lower Specs, IF you understand min. Of Computers... BTW i have Vista 64.

  • well, i have an AMD quad core with GTX 295 which is almost 2Gig. and i use Vista 32. And yes, fuck ATI.. lol

  • With that Specs you should have problems running the game man.

  • Should not

  • YEah, a slow hard drive will just bottle neck the entire system =\

  • ATi FTW

  • Nvidia FTW

  • ATI FTW

  • Nvidia FTW

  • ATI HAS 2xAA already NVIDIA DON'T

  • @bmxismylife123 UM LOL YES, nVidia has 8xAA LOL

  • yeah after you go into nvidia control panel and set it

  • Pedobear FTW

  • is this two HD 4870 or one HD 4870 X2? Cause it says 1013MB vram lol and 4870X2 has 2GB

  • the game only recognizes 1024 mb of memory

  • Ni, unfortunatly it's false advertising because they are 2 seperate 1bg data banks of the card. It's bullshit.

  • Even mine... I hate it when it happens... The game somewhat sucks..

  • The game is awsome it don't suck, it's Rockstars PC updates that fuck everything up.

  • i have a q9550 and a ati radeon hd 2600 xt and 4gb of ram and i still lag

  • It's because your graphics-card is kinda old

  • Because GTA has a RAM leak bug, update your game.

  • it does this on my 4870X2 and I have 6gb ram and phenom X4 9950 BE and it does this even on low settings.

  • not normal! you have a pc problem! i have 4x3ghz 8gb ram 4870 1gb all settings max. with 43 fps this is normal!?.

  • XD wow 4870x2? your lucky enough if you had my comp stutter wouldbe the least of your problems

  • why does this happen on my 9800 GT also? can someone reply?

  • One big thing is ATI doesn't make great drivers. They make great cards but their driver architecture could be better. With good drivers that card could be amazing.

  • If you disable Catalyst AI you only use one of the 2 GPU's in your 4870 X2, and if you are running crossfire it will disable one of your cards.

The stuttering issue stinks, hopefully they will resolve it asap. Right now in Crysis I have 30 steady FPS with everything ultra high (real lifesys mod) with catalyst AI off and it is silky smooth. With it on I have 40 - 60FPS but it stutters when I zoom in and out on certain areas.

  • Turn on in Catalyst-> 3d-> all settings triple buffering and turn Catalyst A.I. off.

Than you can turn the game to his max, maybe 1min of lag, after that time it go's smooth.

The only thing.. sometimes GTA IV hangs it self and you turn back to vista64bit...

  • Since i did this it runs smooth like hell! the first minute is crucial. im using the 2e patch not the 3th.. maybe thats the difference.. but i guess not..

  • I hate lag, i want a graffic card what not lag!!!

  • I fixed it, to an extend. All you have to do is download game accelerator, install it and activate hyper-speed gaming mode. This mode reduced 2-3 fps for me but removed all the stuttering.

  • I Fixed this to ,i just buy new HDD and instal Windows 7 x64 RC on the old HDD, game instal on the new one and i don't have stuttering thing.hahaha:)

  • possible solution!!!:

I had this exact problem after changing from 8800 ultra to 4870x2. after trying for weeks on end i finally found the solution.

It may not help for you but for me it was the first patch (1.0.1.0). it came to me when i was reinstalling gta for the 9 billionth time and i skipped the first patch. installed the last two (1.0.2.0 and 1.0.3.0) and it made a hell of a difference. the problem is still there however because of the 4870x2 drivers

  • From what I understand it is the new update to windows live

  • I have ~~| I7-920@3.4ghz, | RAM 8gig | Evga 295gtx-drv 182.50 | WD Raptor 150gb | WD Black 1 TB | Vista 64bit ~~

I have windows installed on the WD Raptor and GTA IV on the WD Black (32mb cache)

Does not seem to matter if I set my settings very high or full low I still get stuttering. The FPS is great though, the stutters drive me nuts!

I thought it was because of my 295 being hybrid SLI but it seems some single gpu cards have the prob too.

Sad for such a great game

  • i am having this exact same problem with a 9800GT 512MB

it WAS playing fine, but then the other day it crashed to desktop without warning, and now it stutters like this all the time.

this could be footage taken from my gameplay it is so similar.

i tried a reinstall, different GPU drivers, etc., but to no avail.

anyone got a fix for it yet?

  • Well, I'll say this- I get intermittent stutters even with the lowest settings, so it leads me to believe it's not GPU related.

  • exactly the same. - Just installed my brothers new Q9550, runs flawless yet every few secodns theres stutters, not like lag/frame drops but more like the half life 2 problem stutters - its exactly the same on lowest. hm

  • Yeah, I'm running Phenom II X4 @ 3.5Ghz with a HD 4870 X2 and 8 gigs of PC6400... there's no excuse for this.

  • Hey you know what fixed my problem? a new PC :) I'm sure the new patch for GTA will help, I'm playing on a Core-i7-920 OC to 3.2 4870x2 on a Asus R2 Extreme (republic of gamers) with 6G 1600 ram on Win7-64Bit all rapped up on a CM storm-Sniper case... so yeah fixed my problem, runs like a dream now obviously... no stutters, no stalls... frame rates are just a joy... and don't you just hate people like me when they start boasting about their bits...:) I'll post some video in due time.

  • you guys should get the latest gta 4 updates i remember when i used to have gta 4 version 1.0 and it was stuttery and crap as then i updated to version 1.0.2 and problem solved

it says in the text for the update that gta 4 originaly had problems running on graphics cards with more than one core

the game is also made for intel like most are so the amd has to work harder to play the game

it was a very badly written port as it was ported from xbox 360 to pc

    hope this helps all sean

  • I KNOW THE CURE :)

    disable v-sync

  • SAME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4850x2!!!!

  • i got the same fucking problem

  • Same thing happens to me on my HD4850..

  • ok id like to make a point. if you have a video card with 512mb ram or a x2/sli graphics card with 1gb then you still have 512mb ram. Any textures loaded as per the options in gta that exceed the total gfx memory will spill over into the main memory via the pciex bus and is uber slow. remember x2 and sli is duplicated memory, plus gta 4 needs 2gb of memory to run in the highest settings meaning the required x2 or sli card would need 4gb which sadly does not exist yet

  • i have a 4870x2 and can play gta4 with no problems constant 60+ fps maxed out with no skipping. Make sure you have the latest 9.12 drivers and the latest patch made all the difference for me. Can even turn AA to x2 in Catalyst control centre and it makes it look even better and only lose about 10 frames. maybe its my i7 cpu :O

  • fucking show off.....u and ur i7

  • nooooo its impossible to lag like that with 4870 X2

    there is something wrong

  • Bullshit. PC gaming is full of problems. I have two 4870's in crossfire and it stutters like shit, no solution... it's "normal" for pc's, you see.. BTW hdd has nothing to do with micro-stuttering, it's a gpu related issue.

  • I've been dealing with the same stutter with an HD 4670 and it seems that the catalyst drivers are to blame(sadly....). All I keep reading is, "graphics companies release crap drivers, it *happens"

*It's never happened to me in over 10 years of PC usage >.> lucky?

  • maybe this helps if you didn't already (remember, the game is +15GB):

defrag your GTA4 folder using contig.exe.

You can find it on microsoft website!

  • Yeah, this happens with x2s, happens with my friends too.

  • ..and those games have worked well before. One day they just started to bug like that. And i've tried to reinstall them too.

  • Set v-sync to on, and set fps in dxdiag to 60.

    Should sort your problem out.

  • Can anyone tell why my games in PC run weirdly fast? I mean for example Star Wars BF goes like 3x speed in game (guys run like hell).. I just cant play any games because the time in them is weirdly screwed.. Any ideas how to fix this?

  • at 1:04 your resource usage is only 1013MB, how do i make mine higher?

  • i have a question..

why do this stuttering keep happening.

Do you know how to fix it?

    Whats causing this?

because now me are scared of buying HD 4870x2! :`(

  • I have updated the video description, i will make a new video to show you my game play which is now much better because of new hardware, namely a new motherboard (better for my 9950) and a new hard drive which is faster and makes the difference, you can also disable Cat-A.I as that checks textures into memory but it's not optimized for GTA...yet! besides that I'm getting very good frame rates on a default setup, new install of Vista64, not running AMD-fusion, everything seems fine, video soon

  • so the harddrive seems to be the problem or what do you mean mate ? btw this is exactly like i have it (8800 gtx)

  • The command is -availablevidmem 1.5

So change your shortcut to C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV.exe" -availablevidmem 1.5

    Have fun!

  • Actually thats wrong.

Make a file called "commandline.txt" and drop that into your gtaiv folder.

inside the file just put -availablevidmem 1.5

  • It's NOT wrong, the commandline.txt is just another way of doing it, but appending to GTAIV.exe is the prime way to do it.

  • well, ok you can do both but those who do it might aswell make a proper txt file and search for the other possible tweaks.

  • I think it's the texture setting at "High" that's the problem here. It's a very heavy-load and requires tweaks to memory settings.

Try medium and post another vid and compare or try tweaks.

  • AfroCanadian89 the Phenom 9950 cant outpreform a Q660. Were have you read that? But Its problibly the game thats causing the stuttering.
