@MrKansai1 Its a fourstroke machine not a two stroke, they also made a twin cylinder 50cc fourstroke, a 5 cylinder i25 cc and a 6 cylinder 250cc, all foustrokes. Motoguzzi also made an 8 cylinder 500cc 4 stroke which topped 170 mph in the 1950s.

jonno243, the reason he is revving the bike like that has nothing to do with the slow speed jet, it is because the flywheels are so light and the compression so high it will stall at low revs.

it made just under 9bhp at 13,500rpm. for a 49cc!! that works out at 170bhp per litre and not bad considering a 2010 1000 fireblade makes 178bhp.. this bike is 48 years old!!

Great honda engineering! I was fortunate enough to see soe of these bikes in their heyday. They were fab! They made many differnt cylinder configs too. single, twin, 4,&6 There was a 4 cylinder 125 with, I think, 4 vakes per cylinder revving at something incredible. Didnt the 50s rev to 22,000 rpm? Great times. Sadly, Yamaha and Suzuki spoilt the partya little by producing 2stroke power in simpler engines. I loved the 125cc Honda twin production racer and would still like one!
