  • my dad is the lead guitarist

  • Saw them down the 100 Club couple years back, doing the Moving Targets album. She sounds exactly the same, her voice hasn't changed. A great gel! :)

  • Saw these guys on a late night show in the 90s and could never find an lp or anything for years and then forgot about them, just remembered them and that everything's on Youtube and here they are. Happy days!

  • was at their final gig at Newcastle city hall...

  • It's a great Punk band...I like it.

  • It's a great Punk band...I like it mother fuckers.

  • Penetration were the first band that i saw live, M'bro Rock Garden 1979, under 18 gig, quickly followed by the UK Subs at the same venue.

  • i think i'll stick to the Sex Pistols

  • Penetration should have been one of the biggest bands of the Punk Era but unfortunately they were overshadowed by far inferior bands. Moving Targets was one of the great albums of the late seventies. And Pauline was FIT !!!!!

  • saw them at City Hall, Newcastle, Dec '78, 1 of the best nights of my life. awesome

  • what year is this and where?

  • I got the 'Moving Targets' album as soon as it came out, one of the best ones of the time.

  • Saw them in Chelmsford about 1978 loved Pauline .My mate got her coke can it was on his shelf in his room for years

  • I think that she is not afraid of taking chances and she is a woman who knows her own strength. - Naked Lady Gaga. C0000M - -

  • My dad knows Pauline Murray

  • This is before we new what punk was, look at the audience there all ex Genesis fans looking for some thing brand new.like me

  • @Dillboy Some of us knew very well what punk was/is. Penetration were as little as 50p to get in to see at times. Then it went up to 65p, that's when you knew they were getting successful! That was at the Marquee btw.(not the clip, the 50p & 65p). It was fun watching those Genesis fans slowly become punks from one gig to another back then, many of them only got as far as a Stranglers T-shirt instead of the Genesis one though ROFL

  • just saw them with SLF:)

  • thanks chazrich

  • saw these at leeds poly 79 iggy pop wuz on at leeds uni same nite but penetration wer 10 bob less gud nite tho

  • Saw you guys at Wickerman 2009, and it was actually brilliant. My friend came away thinking you were a new band!!! A brilliant sound, and a fuckin pleasure to hear yous live.

    AGB

  • A Quality song on a quality album. I saw them several times in the late 70's and played this album to death. For me, They will live forever

  • pentration still going strong after all these years. .good love it

  • Absolutely awesome!!!

  • Pauline is sooooooo awesome! Her racoon make up,so cool! I lOVE YOU PENETRATION!!!

  • Hell yeah! *High fives CatapultYourMom*

  • this is sure optomistic and clean for a band called penetration.

  • Mmmmmmmmmmm those eyes. I could watch her dance all day. What a great singer and still a killer band. COME TO AMERICA!!!!

  • This band's very underrated :)

  • Don't dictate, bitch.

  • this clip always makes me smile, I have to come watch it when I'm feeling a bit low

  • went to see them in Sunderland a couple of years ago , they were playing with the Damned, Vibrators, UK Subs. Still very good!

  • Oh dear, the Butlins tour?

  • Reading '78, I was there aged 14. Penetration were good but nervous. Patti Smith and John Foxx Ultravox were brilliant.

  • @horselesspaul Here here, Ultravox were at their peak musically then. The train ride to Reading was murder though! Jon Foxx leaving was a total disaster.

  • Greatest eye make up ever. What a beautiful face. Ok, i admit it, i had a painful crush on her. And the way she says "Punk" at the end...soooo sexy! Wish they would play the States!!!

  • Pauline Murray was/is fit!!!

  • why aren't they still around my dream gig would be penetration ....the cure and the damned!!!

  • they are!new 7" out in november!and live gigs oct/dec...

  • they are, they still gig around newcastle area usually trillians bar or chilingham arms

  • Would love to go to a gig like that too!

  • Woolwich Poly, 1978(?) - Penetration, Buzzcocks - talk about spoiled for the night. Little did I know, my future husband was in the crowd!! Oh, the memories ...!

  • You done too much, much too young...LOL!

    Just kidding!

Loved the three years '77,'78, '79...all the best gigs I ever went to. And as you said I didn't realise how spoilt I was then...I was only 14 years old in '77.

    Take care!

  • Great times. A crowd of us from Erith were at this gig - I believe The Slits were also on the bill. A great time to be a teenager - happy days.

  • Actually you're right: was a great time to be a teenager! The ol' man thinks The Slits were supporting The Adverts - but they mighta been on the same bill???

Loved the Tramshed, Woolwich too. Sploogenessabounds spring to mind. (Think we liked it cos we could get a late drink :D )

Oh, and mourned the loss of Lewisham Odeon too.

  • Wow, saw this on NZ TV around the time, never thought I'd see it again, so thanx for that! I always thought this band & song embodied the spirit of punk do-it-yourself.

  • Ah, The 1978 Reading festival.Bought the t-shirt, drank the lager, watched the fights and occasionally listened to the music :)Penetration, Patti Smith, The Jam, Spirit. Seems like quite a few people were at that particular festival. Poor old John Peel tried hard didn't he! UK at that time was such a strange place. Disco existed side by side with punk. Foreigner and Status Quo were well received at that Festival too. Albion Folk Band and Morris Dancers too? You bet.

  • Her eyes are simply amazing..

  • I was there too!

  • This is so good to see again. Pauline Murray was the bomb.

  • I am old enough to say I was there - one of my fav live bands

  • one of my favorite punk bands! awesome!

  • caught em on fire there

    Nice one !

  • This brings back memories of my first punk gig in London; August 1978, Penetration at the Lyceum Ballroom.

  • One of my favourite bands, lucky enough to see them live 3 times and this song is facking brilliant.

  • Wow, my favourite punk song...I was born in january that year...18 years later i met my first girlfriend at the reading festival.

  • I shot pictures of them on their tour of the states back in 1978 that can be seen on the Penetration website. One of the better bands of the time. And yes, she is still amazing today.

  • saw them again last year, first time since 1981 still fantastic.

  • fantastic brings back some great memories from the 70s

  • Absolutely spot on mate .

  • fab ,saw them again this year, still very good.pauline still shit hot.
