It is an absolute pleasure to hear you play. Might you be able to make another video so we can hear your new keefe piccolo. I'm thinking of getting one too.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments and encouragement. No plans for any piccolo masterclass yet. Right now I'm busy playing in 3 different orchestras in Florida while also trying to raise a family. Oh yes, and occasionally practicing too.
To answer your question, I play a new Keefe piccolo. However, the one I played in my video that you saw is an old Brannen piccolo body with my 4 year old Keefe headjoint. If you have a Burkart, I believe that she makes her piccolos so NO other brand of piccolo headjoint will fit on it. It was one of the reasons I did not buy a Burkart. Keefe has a wide variety of heads available though and lots of fun to try too. Jim Keefe and Jan Kinmouth are a joy to work with too.
Thanks David. Good luck as a finalist! Wow, and you're only a junior at USF? Keep practicing as you have been and good things will happen! Hope you make it to Sydney. Unfortunately, I won't be at the Florida Flute Convention this year. I have a a concert that weekend with the Southwest Florida Symphony playing Prokofiev Classical Symphony! Lots of high D's for me AND my principal flutist husband Bill. Please say hello to Dr. McCormick from the Larsens!
@b2larsen Thanks, Beth! I will definitely say hello to her for you! I'm actually a sophomore! Dr. McCormick has me learning the Finale movement of Classical Symphony right now! It's hard...hahahaha, those high Ds are no joke! Best of luck to the both of you on all your future performances!
@b2larsen Also, may I ask what piccolo you play? I currently play Lillian Burkart with her wave headjoint but I think I am looking for a new headjoint this year at the convention! Any suggestions?

Cool playing, and be sure to check Yossi Hamami concerto for piccolo "freakollo". I finally got it in piano reduction and it's the best thing ever.
