i think if you haven't already put a lift hill on it using the chain and the loud wooden coaster clicker to keep it from rolling back if the lift fails.
did you ever release a video of its completed version? would love to seen this in action as I'm thinking of creating one myself this coming summer....great work btw!
I made a pvc One Like This But i wanna Make One Like this Too It looks Way Cooler an u post a vid Showing How U did the Track Cuz I dont Get exactly How U Did It
you should keep the bank going the go to the foot of the hill make a lift the turn right then start all over. sure it would just be a circle but it would be great for a backyard one. and how do u bend the wood? plz respond
PVC is probably faster because it's more 'smooth' but how did you do that on this (wooden) roller coaster? Just many small pieces or do you have a secret?
Its actually very simple, you just use 3/4 inch boards and after you put supports into the ground you bend the boards over the cross-ties (which should be connected to your supports) and screw them down to the cross-ties and then you laminate the first board by putting another 3/4 inch board on top of it and fastening it down to the board. And that is how you make a nice, smooth track, just like the pros do it.
amazing!! your like my hero i loooooove rollercoasters and im hopefully gunna make my own someday... ps what did you use for the wheels and attachments and stuff...
I tore this one down and im gonna build a new one close to where this one was. The new one will have a pvc pipe style track and will have a taller and steeper drop than the first one i built. The end of it will be a 90 degree hill that i will attach to a tree. I will start construction on it soon and I will post an update after I have built some of it.
kk he is some recent news about the rc. I will post a new vid in the next couple of weeks that will show how the cart works on the first part of the ride which is the hill and the turn. I haven't been doing to much to the ride because my table saw broke and i'm w8ting for a replacement part. Once I get the track completely done in that section and the cart chassis done I will make a new vid.
yes, I will try to use the same stuff that Jeremy Reid had on his backyard coaster, its some kind of high density plastic stuff, I cant think of the name right now. Its cheaper than metal and i guess it works good because his pov looks like a pretty smooth ride, and it doesn't rust :)
@ddrusa you boil the wood, then bend it.

balak121 2 years ago
I think im just gonna make a new one out of the wood from the old one but im not shure where and what the design will be yet.
V00D00805 2 years ago
I forgot how awsome this one was when it was in its prime lol, now its gone and im still thinking of new designes for a new one.
V00D00805 2 years ago
It depends on how thick the pvc pipe is, the pvc i'm gonna use has about 650psi of pressure before it breaks.

don't do pvc, it after a while i'll break with people wait on it!
mattamys 2 years ago
no... pvc is very reliable, because if it wasnt, they would have to come and change your water pipes every year or so.
thetreeregimovies 2 years ago 4
i just think wood is better, more professional and looks and feels beeter! in my view

dude urs is awsome how did u make the wood bend like that without braking
legomaster2427 2 years ago
You could submerge it in water for a couple of hours, then take it out and get right to the nailing. Once it's nailed in and it dries, you're done.
