  • i love that siren

  • Res1cue is the most beautiful rescue truck I've ever seen

  • close your backdoor>?

  • @useless241 nah, they keep it open for easy access and also, if they have an instance when closing the station garage door, the crewmember doesn't have to open the rescue's back door, get out, and close it. Plus they can't really go to fast in Manhattan traffic, so the likelyhood of someone or something is close to zero.

  • 0:23 : sounds like a bunch of vuvuzela's

  • So what about the woman getting ready to go by the station then ducking into the doorway cause she was talking on her phone when they pulled out? HaHa!!!

  • @Ukraine2011 That was good...and they started the sirens too before she could duck out of the way...wonder if the other person could hear her talking?

  • Apparently, this is what happens when you blend fire truck and ambulance. firelance truck FTW!

  • @spreilly481935 is that what they use for EMS? i thought they had RAs. that thing is funny lookin

  • @ERjamers I was just commenting on the look. But I believe it's not EMS, but some sort of heavy rescue for the FD.

  • @spreilly481935 fire situations where there are rescue operations (i.e. elevator shafts) that require specialized equipment and training

also good to know this is Manhattan and 1 of 5 that covers the borough

    Midtown West Hell's Kitchen

  • Sweet!!!

  • hahahaahah did u see that lady adout to crose

  • is that a real Q i hear ?

  • @TheDJAaronD electric q

  • @jtoatoktoe Yeah can Kinda hear it now, not as loud as a realy Q... we dont have sirens like that here in Ireland

  • @TheDJAaronD yeah best way to tell is to look for a mounted silver circular piece either on the grill or bumper, those are the real deal manual Q's.

  • oops all most crashed to that delivery truck at 00:26

  • Back door is always open, why?

  • @TheZitronenblau The back door is alway open cause they go in and out alot. Thats what i understand

  • @TheZitronenblau so they can see whats going on behind them and they can jus jump out when they get on location

  • Rescue 1 has by far the loudest siren. I used to live 5 blocks from there and still could hear that shit everytime

  • @soulsurvivor52784 Well that's only five blocks. Not as far as you think especially for noise.

  • Why weren't the rear lights on?

  • why is rescue 1 so popular

  • @WRFD46firefighter i dont know why it so popualr but it could be the fact its the only rescue unit in the manhattan area. the rest are in the bronx and other areas of new york

  • @MrDean0711 r1 only cover manhattan under 125th st

  • @WRFD46firefighter , suppose to be the best rescue operation on USA soil, and perhaps in the whole word. They are ready to perform every possible kind of rescue operation, tools and trucks are the best any fire house can use. ;)

  • LOVE THAT GROWL!!!!

  • You should go to Red Hook and look at company 202 and 101.

  • EQ2B's are awesome, till you get a real Q...it's just a proven fact. Q2B > EQ2B. :P

  • @iceman977th Another proven fact: Anything > pa300. Fire engines aren't supposed to sound like cop cars.

  • @cwjones0322

    ^^^^^^^ This.

Especially when a Powercall siren is involved. Or Whelen w/ Powercall (Warble)

  • @iceman977th I honestly think a powercall and q with some grover horns are what every fire truck should have. but thats just my personal favorite.

  • @cwjones0322 Exactly. I dunno what horns we have on our 95 Smeal, but I'll have to find out, I LOVE the alot more than the ones on our 06 & 07 Pierce's...

  • Detroit Diesel Series 60 under the hood.... I love em, you hear the variable speed/pitch turbo spool up more than the engine so it sounds almost like a jet engine

  • probably the only pierce in fdny hahaha

  • man i know theyre a love-it or hate-it thing, but i do so dig those eq2b's

  • did t aht guy running out of the quarters at the beginning of the vi d make it into the rig ok?

  • @aceofspades245 yes they often jump in through the back on these rescue trucks :)

  • i miss the real fed qs

  • that was what I was thinking about the unit.....outstanding. Very nice pierce

  • Nice eq2b

  • Truck seems to have a lot of pickup lol

  • that is one sexy rig...

  • um someone forget some lights on the back?lol

  • Does anyone no wat type of traffic bar that is on the back of the Rescue

  • I have been inside this station

  • Whats the difference of a Rescue truck and a standard fire engine. I mean they both rescue people.

  • @naVigator2293 fire engines have stuff to put out fires, rescues probably don't have much more than a couple fire extinguishers. Rescues have stuff like jaws of life.

  • Ahh i like the sound of the bullhorn

  • damn did you guys hear that engine sound?!

  • @MrRubendeRuiter

    That's an E-Q2B siren.

Q sirens (real and electronic) are more or less the standard on most USA fire trucks.

  • @marcsw5000 I know, but I was talkin about the ENGINE sound 0:15-0:19

  • @MrRubendeRuiter like a jet ;)

  • to bad they r replacin her wit a ferrara

  • @fdny214 i think pierce could out run ferarra, but segrave could out run both of them, so therefore instead of putting in seagrave and ferarra, they SHOULD out in segrave and pierce

  • you are a total dipship fdny214. i've seen a 15 year old Pierce run better than a 5 year old ferrara

  • @fellcatcher3 ya the older pierce's not the new ones they are built like shit seagrave is the best anyways YOU DIPSHIT

  • @fdny214 I would put a Pierce up against a La France or a Seagrave. Your talking out your ass...

  • true diesal power

  • @TheOTTO2732 do you mean at 00:11?

  • Convoy!

  • Now that is what u call a Heavy Rescue Truck!!!!!!!!!

  • that truck is a sexxxy beast

  • soon rescue 1 is being replaced with a Ferrara Heavy Rescue (along with the rest of the FDNY Rescues), hopefully those rigs will run strong

  • @superbuff861 Pierce is the best man, Pierce. Ferrara is crap, its Salisbury. Pierce is Swanson the best.

  • i miss their old rescue rig.

  • Ok, now hear me out; If Engine 1 and Truck 24 both are stationed at (House 1) What is Rescue One (Outstanding)'s House Number?

  • @406314 Sometimes it might be that the truck has been replaced, and the video appears first and after the other truck, which was replaced by the first. I think.

  • @406314 Because there are many Rescues, and this is the unit number 1, there are other with the number 2, number 3. Here in Brazil, all units have a number. I hope have helped :)

  • do they sell flowers ?

  • Here in Brazil, all the fire trucks is Pierce, it is so good =P

  • now is this the current rescue apparatus? i thought the current one had the all chrome wheels

  • rear facing lights?

  • terrible siren!

  • i think that truck has a detroit motor 525 HP 4060 tran but not sure about the torque

  • love the way the shyt looks when it first comes out the door if u watch carefully it looks like it rocks left to right probably the ground with all the runs that beast do lol

  • awesome..

  • did anyone else see the guy who was on his phone walking and turn away he was probaly on the fone with his boss and was like "yeah i almost there im gonna be like 5 seconds late though, sum fire truck just cut me off"

  • Love the sound of that motor, can anywone tell me the details of it? torque, cc, bhp?

  • @ImRatherTall It's a Detroit Diesel 60 Series with about 455 HP and 1550 Ft-Lbs of Torque.

  • @ford616

*whistles* Thats some motor! Powerful too, i dont really know much about the engines that are used in the states.

    Thanks anyway!!!

  • @ImRatherTall No problem, My department has a heavy duty rescue that is a little smaller than this one and it has a 550 HP Cummins ISX Motor! It has some power.

  • @ford616 Some? lol

There isnt much for excitement here from the Fire station, apart from a 20year old Mercedes with a Caterpillar engine, but theres a private owner who has an ex RAF Airport tender with a detroit V8, sounds nice trying to climb a long 15degree hill

  • @ImRatherTall Awesome, Our platform has a Detroit Diesel and I love the sound of that motor!

  • @ford616 I do love the sounds and looks of US Fire trucks, shame large fire trucks wont work down here! The roads are really narrow in the part of the UK I live, rural roads and such, really narrow. (One truck here was aqquired due to its width, still a 15ton truck but slightly narrower than the rest)

  • @ImRatherTall That is a shame

  • Great Sound *.*

  • I have my doubts that a rig in Europe carries the amount of tools as rigs in the US. There is simply no way a rig can carry sufficient tools for technical rescue and for firefighting and be that much smaller. Unless there are less tools used over there. I also have reason to believe that on power aspect for apparatus the US takes it. Takes alot of "get up and go" to get these things moving and boy can they move. BTW I'd love to have 9 FF's staffed on a rig sure would make things a bit easier

  • hmzfühl mich irgendwie allein..:( will einer mit mir schreiben hab auch bilder und so

  • man its ashame that the rescues in the fdny are going to be ferrara

  • @peischl124 thats a pierce

  • I know its a pierce but what i'm saying is that it is going to be replaced with a ferrara and so are the other rescues.

  • @peischl124 no its not all of the others rescues are going to be replaced with ferraras this is the only one they are keeping

  • no its not lol. they dont waste money when i truck is three years old and anyways they wont do that cause they have financial problems!!!!!!

  • Rescue 1 classic truck... what would the FDNY be without it 5*

  • Why do they have a big truck to maneuverer around traffic?

    Stupid Americans.

  • @malbert34

    hmm...what?

  • @Friss99

    mmmm cherry pie.

  • to carry all of the necesary equipment

there is alot of it on there.

  • @wccc106 well compare the size of this truck to a firetruck in Europe and then you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • ja ich weiß.

Aber das mit dem finest UND bravest wusste ich nicht, ich hatte es nur gehört, aber das es dort nen Unterschied gibt wussteich nicht!

    danke.

  • Anyone notice the firefighter "running to catch the bus" LOL As the truck's pulling out, you see a FF running to jump in the back. Also, any FDNY members out there who can tell me why the Rescue truck back doors are always open? I noticed this duringa visit in 2006 to NYC.

  • the back door are open 2 keep it cool in the back so when they get on scene they nice and cool and ready 2 go and so they can hop on and off while it moveing

  • @usmarines911

Aren't they ever afraid of falling out if it comes to a sudden stop or something?

  • no due to the stand farther in and u learn to brace yourself and how to stand to stop that from happening

  • @usmarines911

    Oh ok thanks.

  • Initial attack tools are kept inside on both sides in the walk through. Back door is sometimes open and sometimes closed. (usually open). Carrying the initial set of tools and trying to open 2 doors would be a pain in the a##.

  • Must be a sale at the grocery store.

  • i love that rig

  • die Feuerwehr muss nicht cool sein, sondern helfen...die spinnen!!!^^

  • i love the lady at the beginning. "im goin this way, oh turn around, oh i was goin the right way to begin with." she woulda got run slap over

  • cool video

    nice truck

  • love that rear left indicator flash pattern :D

  • I like that as well!

  • @gentarion

yea all the firetrucks seem to have it.

quite unusual but some sort of cute lol

  • Yes, its so people can tell the turn signals apart from the emergency lights.

  • I love that rescue.....

  • sweet rig

  • why are always the doors open?

  • Maybe as there is no windows, they want or need some light.

  • Why do they always leave the back open?

  • Maybe as there is no windows, they want or need some light.

  • There is windows, two sunroofs, and side windows, the doors are open for fresh air i wud imagine.

  • but why do they need so much fresh air?????

  • yea why they need fresh air ??????

  • stupid, that they want to look cool, aren´t they? :D

  • Thx
