Alot of what pokemon is today started with Ruby and Saphire. Abilities, personalities, double battles, berry blending, and contests. Gold and Silver started special colors, berries, breeding, gender, and unique pokeballs. Funny enough, the more specific they got with Pokemon the better it became. In my opinion, the story was at it's best in Gold and Silver. It built upon Red and Blue and still felt different. GS was a true sequel. Something later games just haven't match. (haven't played B&W tho

@jaraandrew100 I agree with you. I love all of the games honestly (besides all the random spin off games there are.) but GS was my favorite in terms of story and nostalgia. It was the first pokemon game I really played through and I was 7 years old and I leveled up my Feraligatr all the way up to level 100 by myself and whooped Red's ass. I wish Nintendo would change the story up though. GS was different and fresh. Btw, Black and White is just a rehashing of most of the others in terms of story.
