  • What a beautiful mold :D

  • So how did u make the grey helmet in the first place..? Please answer I really wanna give this a shot

  • hey i was just waching your video for the 12th time and now i am trying to make a halo reach helmet useing your way of making helmets and i would like it if u made a video showing what things u need to mold a helmet.well thats all and thanks u for the video's u have made so fare i in joyed learning from this video.

  • I learned by just getting the stuff and doing it. I've never taken any classes or read any books on it. YouTube has a TON of videos, so I just watched a bunch and went for it.

  • @tk7602 Hey, same here man!

  • where does one learn how to do this? I am trying to make plastic or latex viking era helmets and armor (to sell with my reenactment group for kids or something) and I am having trouble figuring this out. could you point me in a direction?

  • If it wasn't shown at high speed, the video would be 18 hours long. I really don't think anyone wants to see a live, real speed example of that.

Even mixing the 2 halves of the silicone in the cup takes 4-5 minutes. Who wants to actually watch 5 minutes of stirring? ;)

"like suddenly all the liquid stuff is in the jar"

That's just a simple matter of pouring it in. There's nothing to it. It's no different than filling a cup with milk. You open the bottle, pour, and stop when there's enough.

  • This is confusing how come no one speaks when they do these things and slowly shows it..goes so quickly i wish it was done step by step showing how every process is done..like suddenly all the liquid stuff is in the jar..confusing..

  • how do i make the inside hollow? not sure what you mean. it sounds like you're asking about casting a helmet, which is an entirely different process.

this is just making a mold, and has nothing to do with actually producing a helmet from there.

look up slush casting / rotocasting / for 2 different ways to do it. fiberglass is also an option.

  • how do you make the inside hollow

  • how many ounces of rebound 25 did you use

  • How much rebound 25 would i need to do a helmet of that same size, would 2 trial sizes be enough?

  • I don't ever split the silicone mold. It remains a solid piece, and is just peeled off. There's no need for a seam.

  • hi, can you tell me, when you get to the step where you put the divider into the rebound 25 before building up another layer or two, do you need to slice the lower layers at this point so you can separate them later, or do you do it when you are splitting the plasti jacket layer at the end?

  • 1 question how many galons of rebound 25 did you use to get a nice mold?

  • i sculpted the helmet.

  • just wanna ask?? where do u get the "helmet" thing to make the mold??

  • @mentoswatthehell sory my mistake.. where do you get the mother mold??

  • i've never done pepakura, but i'd imagine it would. paper is porous, so the silicone while still liquid would soak in.

  • I have a question.. I made a helmet from pepakura (paper) and I didn't do anything to the outside, but I fiberglassed the inside. will the rebound 25 stick to my helmet?

  • how many trial sizes would it take to mould it? and could you use hardware store bought silicone to complete the 3rd or 2nd layer?

  • I use fiberglass sometimes, but try to stay away due to the toxic nature. I have a vented paint room that controls the fumes, but it's still being done in my house, so I save that for when there is no other choice.

  • Fiberglass is definitely cheaper, but I can't work with it due to the styrene odor.

  • hey STG, mrbungle here.

i would use fiberglass on your mother mold. it is far cheaper then plasipaste. and i have found is more durable than it too.

    JMHO.

  • Thanks for this video. I saw your WIP thread on the Mandalorian Mercs website and I've been looking for a tutorial on mold making. Great job of the helmet!

  • Very Awesome Rex.
