  • that is the heart of the matter

  • There are only TWO: Truth, or not

The Bible is truth, all else, tho has some truth in it, is still false.

It does not matter if it is a prosperity gospel, Richard Dawkins, Hindu, Islam, or otherwise, they are false.

    Repent, believe, and trust.

  • This is a long straw man argument. Voddie Baucham is misrepresenting Secular Humanism. Secular Humanists believe in evolution and that too many people are undereducated, especially girls in developing countries. Almost everything else he tells his audience about Humanism (I say this because he seems like a smart guy who should know more about his topic) a lie. He seems like a nice guy, but don't believe what he says about Humanism.

  • @zjab62 Call it Secular Humanism or not, but the "Secular" world today does exalt "Humans" and behave just like Baucham describes.

  • @zelda0521 Not everyone in the world behaves the same way. There is only one world, there is no secular world, and no Christian world. Some people in the world do behave the way he describes, I'm sure. However you can't just generalize about people like that. Do you really think that no Christians behave that way? (And don't tell me "Not real Christians.") Humanism is a real life stance and it is not what Mr. Baucham says it is. Read "Humanism and its Aspirations," then we'll talk.

  • @zjab62 To say that there are different worlds is a figure of speech to help us communicate about different groups of people. I'm sorry if you don't understand what people mean when they speak of different "worlds". Yes I was generalizing and I admit it would've been better had I said the "majority", Excuse me on that one. None the less you can see in our media and ads that what Baucham describes is rampant.

  • @zelda0521 The problem here is not that Baucham is intentionally trying to smear your "humanism" with false statements, its just thtat he used a different definition for the word humansim. And you would know that there are many forms of "humanism".

Baucham is calling the belief in exaltation of men poplular in the secular world as "secular humanism", and I'm sure he's not the only one that goes along with this definition.
