Awesome! If your teacher has no problem accepting a check each payday from a Catholic school than he should respect the Catholic faith and teach it accordingly. If he has doubts about faith, he needs to express those with an appropriate person, such as a priest, not with a group of students whose families are paying for a Catholic education.  Finally, if he cannot maintain a respectful silence in the face of his doubts then he needs to do the honest thing and seek employment elsewhere.

The secular media refers to this as public funding but it is correctly refer to as Catholic rate payer funded.(property taxes provincial income tax.) Did the teachers sign an Mandatum? If they did and they advocated such a position then they can be immediately removed from their position. Regardless the teacher needs to be removed.

God bless you! Keep seeking solid Catholic teaching and what the Church has always taught. This is a time of great apostasy in faith! There is a lot of false teachings being taught even from the highest places in the Vatican. I ended up losing my faith for a long time because the Church I went to wasn't teaching the Catholic faith in Its fullness. Try reading from the Baltimore Catechism, the Council of Trent, and the Catechism of Pope St. Pius X for starters. I will pray for you. Courage!

But the cynical tone contained in 'Do the local bishops know what the Catholic school teachers are teaching?' is uncalled for, since it is the said teacher who is primarily at fault here. It'd be unfair for the bishop to be blamed for something that is not an immediate result of his action, don't you think? Nevertheless, I definitely agree that the bishop should be informed of this. Just make sure you do it with due sincerity and respect.

@janghanee i am a person who defends bishops in the daily, frivolous attacks against them, incl. from media . however everyone knows that catholic schools have gone to hell. they are only there as good private schools. not a place parents send their kids to get a catholic education.

every time i meet someone who went to catholic school as a child who is still catholic i am shocked b/c it almost never happens.

the bishops should stop this and say the way catholic schools are run should change.

when I was in a Catholic high school my religion teacher said "You can't take all of the Bible literally, for example Mary couldn't really have been a virgin". By saying this he denied the divinity of Christ, suggesting he had a "baby daddy". I wish I was strong in my faith or cared enough at that time to challenge him. You should totally send a complaint to the principal, the Bishops and defend the beauty that is the Catholic faith, especially Within the Catholic education system. The teacher should be sacked. He/she has gone against their contract and that in itself is enough to let him go. I don't think firing him/her is an overreaction, the bible says "whoa to those who leads one of these astray" You Go Francesca! Uphold the Faith!
