@PEPSIXSYMBAHELIOS Hi Marina. Thanks for this lovely comment. and thank you very much for all the excellent comments you have made in my uploads! It is very encouraging. I hope you have a lovely weekend. Snowy says "Meow." Steve.
@KlodeB92 Hi Claude. Thanks. I got the idea of playing outdoors from you, as you posted some lovely outdoors videos earlier!! It is a nice change from indoors.
@VLombardi01 Thanks Vince. Klaude (klodeb92) posted some outdoor videos earlier in the year, and I thought it was a nice idea. It's a battle sometimes though, with the wind, the birds, the rain, the cars, the cats, etc.
@Mr5stevenr The birds would sound peaceful so that might make it pretty good and the cat showing up at the end of the song made it pretty interesting.
@gentlemanbagua Hi Bill. I've only had the Mike a few weeks. It is a Carillon 8 condenser Mike. It has to have phantom power, and that is provided by a Carillon Pod pal, which also converts the signal into digital and goes into the usb. All a bit expensive, and maybe it is too good just for Youtube. I think the record volume is a bit too high here, making the bass a bit muffled. I still am experimenting with it. Cheers, Steve.
@Gangly1 Hi Paul. Yes. The cat gets in the way sometimes. She keeps sitting on my sheet music when I'm trying to read it. But that's not sufficient reason to put her in a pie just yet. Ha.
@josie2u2 Thanks Josie. Yes, It's nice playing outside, when the weather is ok. I tried recording outside again yesterday, but the wind came up and blew my sheet music all over the place. Steve,
Very nicely played, Steve! You put a real polish on this piece - a very musical and delicate interpretation. And your cat is really becoming an afficianado of classical guitar as well.
@jbclassicaldreams Thanks James. This one is really a bit too trick for me, but sometimes you just have to do it. I would love to do Capricho, but that's a different kettle of fish. (Is that phrase used in the US also?) Cheers. Steve.
@Mr5stevenr Capricho Arabe? - it's fantastic (check out the version by sammu5). And I know "kettle of fish" for sure - we use it here, too. I think you should work on it, take your time, get there bit by bit. It's worth the effort and I'm sure you could do it!
@jbclassicaldreams Yes. I've seen Sam's Capricho several times. It is just great. I had a look at it again over the last few days, and played the first half a few times. Stay tuned for a capricho upload (in 5 years) Ha Ha.
Je ne connais pas, mais cela ne m'a pas empêcher de l'écouter. C'est la musique sûrement d'un film. ! est-ce que je me trompe??? Ou est-ce toi le compositeur???
@BroJacky Salut Jacky. Merci pour le commentaire. La chanson a été écrite par Francisco Tarrega. Il est un célèbre compositeur de guitare classique. C'est une chanson bien connue, alors peut-être dans quelques films. C'est une belle chanson. Cordialement. Steve.
@MaryGreenleaf Hi Mary. Glad you give you some memories from your past. That's one of the good things about music. Snowy certainly likes her attention. If I don't give her some she gets very pushy. She is not very playful anymore, but she is very affectionate. Good to see your quality upload again. Steve.
nice playing again steve. you need to work on your hammer on/snap off however - i suggest Ricardo Iznaola's Kitharologus - a great technique/study book with many exercises that will really maximize your playing potential, and the hammer/snap exercises are really worth it - it will make your LH much stronger. Check it out at any rate, i think GSP sell it? Quite cheaply if i remember correctly.
@classicalmannick101 HI Nick. Thanks for your note, and advice. You are quiet right. I have sadly neglected my slur exercises. What pieces will you do for your end of year exam?
@Mr5stevenr ah the poor pinky finger of guitarists left hands... all it wants is to be just as important as the other fingers! little do most know that it can be, quite easily too i might add!
I am going to do Sonatina by Moreno-Torroba, Southern Cross mvmt 1 & 2 and a Roland Dyens arrangement of Nuages by Django Reinhardt.
@classicalmannick101 Sounds nice. You have one of the southern cross movements already there, but it would be great to see the other pieces uploaded one day. Django Reinhardt is one of my all time heroes. I guess you wouldn't do his original arrangement, as you have way too many fingers. Ha.
@classicalmannick101 Yes. I had heard Pajarillo57 play it last year. He gets plenty of flair and swing into it. Heard it again just now. I hope the exam goes well! I thought about doing grade 7 this year. Marieta is in the syllabus. But my left wrist couldn't handle the pace.
@CNlyrical Hi Crystal. Thanks for your kind words. This is a song that I've played for a long time. The middle bit has always been too tricky for me, and still not perfect, but I am happy with it. I very much enjoyed your new upload. Steve.
@jimguitarfan Wow. Thanks for the great review, Jim. I would like to do more with this piece, but don't have the skills yet. I think Tarrega had the knack of writing songs which make easy pieces sound good and intermediate pieces sound great. Steve.
@sammu5 Thanks Sam. At the moment my favourite tree in the whole yard is the one you can see on the left of the screen with the red flowers. The "Dog Rose." Those flowers signal the end of winter. Bye, Steve.
@rdan06 Thanks Daniel. I am selfish, because I only upload the videos i like, and once again this is one of my favourites. But is seems many Tarrega pieces are favourites of many people. Steve.
@GlennValt Hi Glenn. Yes. Your's was the first comment. I used my old camera here to record with. There is a slight pink tinge on the left of the screen, but it seems to be less noticeable in the outdoors videos. Thanks for listening. Steve.
That was wonderful, Steve. I love this piece. Anyway, I love Tarrega.
grande abraço, Ovidio
