No. 102 saw Haydn at the very summit of his symphonic art, combining his vast compositional experience and mastery and his unwavering creative energy and pulling out all stops to let his imagination and inspiration to fly to their uttermost heights. Jones turns in a very fine rendition, though I somehow missed the sheer swagger and exuberance that Colin Davis and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam brought to this movement. Nevertheless, many thanks for posting David.

@classicvinylbiz Hi David, many thanks again for your on-going work in presenting the Jones/LoL recordings on YT. Delighted to hear that you have the Colin Davis/COA version, which still remains my personal favorite for No. 102. I have it on a Philips Double CD set but would love to hear how it sounds in its original vinyl LP edition. Nevertheless, the Jones/LoL is still an excellent version that maintains the overall high standard of the cycle.
