  • :)

  • i pity that insturment

  • The music does go with the mullet and Maiden shirt. Its just the instrument doesnt.

  • Somehow the mullet and the Iron Maiden t-shirt don't go with the music.

  • According to the guy I bought it from he said it was tuned E B E A. I am going with that. So.....

  • I thought a Laouta was tuned in fifths like a mandolin??

  • Yeah. I have a nack for picking up any instrument and playing it within 5 minutes. I am very heavy into music. I can read play by ear and write. In the case of the Laouta I noticed the tuning is similar to a drop D tuning on guitar but raised a whole step. So I just went from there. It is tune from low to high. E - B - E - A

  • Wow...I'm impressed. :D I have a laouta to-but I don't really know how to play it (I got it as a gift and have no bckground in it)..how did you learn to play yours so well? Just by ear? :/

  • I just got an Egyptian-style oud from EBay about a month ago. Now THAT is a fun instrument! No frets and a stubby little neck. Very similar to your laouta (actually its ancestor). It has 9 strings right now (Arabic arrangement), but 12 pegs. I was going to put the extra 3 strings on to make it a 12-string, but noticed that there wasn't enough room on the nut to put the new grooves in. I can at least double the E (top) string I guess.

  • Dude I only got the instrument about a week before. I learned this stuff in 1 week by ear.

  • not good...
