  • Sex appeal you must like lardy women it looks massive i will stick to my fazer thou these kind of bike are to heavy

  • great touring bike, but imho doesn't beat R1200GS Adventure

  • i bought 3 of them , they look good next to my Lear jet .

  • sounds like a zanda

  • £15K ? My dealer says £18K + ( + £550 insurance at age 62!)....

  • Haven't ridden this bike yet but with 175Nm I would wonder how much torque he wants and what bike delivers this

That said I've just read that the torque is limited/controlled below 4,000 RPM

  • I just orded the GT 1600, I now have a fjr 1300 as well as a gl goldwing 1100, I also have a HD FLH 1450 tour bike....BUT ! This GT 1600 is so much more advanced in power and smoth ride. I did not care for the GTL riding stance, but the GT is more my style. Exllent job BMW

  • pity it can't stop riding over double white lines, but no bikers can anyway

  • Sounds like a Messerschmidt. Bad ass touring bike.

  • Your bike is ready Lord Vader

  • 1:01 he touched the pavement with...something. be more careful mate :D

  • I love the sound of it! Reminds me of the E46 M3.

  • only bmw is de best

  • Nice review! Do you consider this to be a sport touring bike?

Your video was great, your audio could have been better. I know your reporter is also the camera guy, but you might want to invest in some windscreens for the camera mic to eliminate wind noise from the video entirely.

    Keep up the great reviews.

  • dude nice ride ,mcysu1

  • I like how you guys put exactly 5 seconds of ethnic tribal music at the start to let us know that we are in South Africa.

  • I got wood!!!!

  • No offence to the reviewer, but MCN really need to give their guys training in delivering to camera. That guy has such a nasal whiny voice, and he's not the only one in the MCN stable to do that. Perhaps they could use that guy from the King's Speech!

  • I own a beemer, but I have to give credit to Honda for that sound. Just check out the CBX 1000 (6 cyl) videos on here. They did the 6 cylinder shabang in the fokin 80's, man!

  • Nice sound!!! Runs me crazy.

  • NICE, bit ricey. the only bmw to some is the boxer twin. harley came out with the porsche designed engine. nobody gave a shit. harley couldn't give them away.

pathetic resale value. this bmw impresses me not at all. nice, just not my cup of tea.

  • looks like riders are riding over their head crossing lanes like that, but it could just be the road

  • Nice bike...Beautiful review....!!

  • wow ... took till 1:07 just to see a clear image of the entire bike. Future advice - make sure the bike is the first thing we see, I don't come here to see what your reporter looks like, I come here to look at the bike AND to hear your opinions on it.

  • This bike would sound amazing with a pair of Remus exhaust mufflers.

  • sounds a bit like an old school m3

  • Looks like MCN's love affair with wind noise in the videos continues

  • Damn, BMW is seriously the coolest company in the world. Great cars, great bikes. Thank you Bavaria!

  • Is it just me or does it sound like an M3 with 2 wheels or a CBX1000 gone mental???

What a bike. 15k, to me, is cheap compared to the 18-19k for a Honda Goldwing, and its much better value than a Yamaha FJR and they won't move or sound anywhere near as good as this bit of german touring brutality.

    Thumbs up to BMW.

  • Makes the FJR price look even more ridiculous

  • << Keep left

  • This is how to travel fast!

  • Sounds awesome!

  • The video looks sped up, even though it is not.

So swift for a svelte piggy tour bike.

Passenger area looks first class too. World's best scooter with the heart of a S1000R. Lol. The child of a CBX and S1000R then. I want it. NOW!

  • AMAZING SOUND!

  • Nice bike, awesome stuff, but PLEASE, get a windprotector for that cam. It's horrible to listen to.

  • Nice engine, but the bike isn´t mine;)

  • Love that noise, Inlines...Oh yeah!!!

  • o boy i want 1 but i bet there expensive £25 k + i think ??

  • @superbran2008 Did he say it was £15K?

  • @superbran2008

Not 25K, 15K, and cheaper than a LeadWing, and 200 lbs. lighter, and OMG that sound!

  • I wanted to hate this bike but how could I hate this beast

  • lovely place to test it! Sounds fantastic, lets hope its more reliable than the K1200 when they started which also sounded amazing. What next...a 2litre V8 ??

  • WHAT A NOISE!!! OMG

  • I love the Motorcycle news reviews but ........... for gods sake sort out the audio it totally ruins all the reviews

  • if i want a car i'll buy a car

  • im not into touring bikes.. but dam it sounds good!

  • Nice bike and a good review MCN

  • Really good review MCN!!! Keep up the good work!

  • Sweet bike and what a beautiful place to ride.

Also, doesn't the tach seem to be just a wee bit behind when he starts revving it at 2:13?

  • @76280zguy possibly audio to visual lag due to the video and it being on youtube. A lot of youtube vids have this issue and I'd assume there wouldnt be any lag in the tach standing next to it

  • That engine is the size used in a car ,its a nice bike but overpowered i think, i like litre bikes and below but that's me.

  • Totally sick sounding motor.

  • front break?? around a corner? everyone tells me thats the worst thing to do, always rear break.

  • @jbshadow1 You've been told wrong than. Too much rear brake in the corner = bikes ass will slide and you will crash.

  • @welk0metohell Well too much front break and you'll definitely will low side it.

Rear break with extra gas lets you stabilise the bike around corners (especially if you need extra lean angle during hot entry)

  • @jbshadow1 or both of them subtly

  • @jbshadow1 With BMW touring bikes you're braking just front as machine is distributing between front and rear automatically, rear is just for starting on slope.

  • @emilvva Ahhh very clever =P

  • That thing really screams. Is that motor manufactured/developed by Rotax or BMW?

  • I want that bike, soo soo badly. Maybe when its been out a year or 2 i will save and pick one up. I can only hope.

  • Where in South Africa is this?

  • What a fantastic bike. I'd love to see this motor in a naked bike as well, but I can't see that happening. The motor has the look to pull it off from what little I've seen

  • it took a hole 1:06 to show me the fucking bike!! stop doing close ups on the engine when we dont have a clue how the hole thing looks first.

  • Guess they went with the sound of the cbx1000 from the late 70's.

  • Boy did I need that footage!

ME <- pining for a burn in the twisties....

  • nice review mcn. looks lika good bike.

  • It sounds as awesome as old BMW 6 cylidner cars. Oh my god, I'm in love.

  • Great overview!

  • never knew a 6-CILINDER would SOUND that AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Man he was flicking that thing round those corners like it's an SS. BMW makes another great bike, what a surprise haha.

  • Aftermarket exhaust on that, would sound BEAST!

  • waiting for the S1600RRRRRRR :)

  • Can you actually beat that sound?

  • @ms51ves3 I don't know if it beats it, but imo, Honda's 1800 sounds preeeetty damn fine.

  • sounds exactly like a porsche (maybe cause they r both 6cyl.^^) awesome sound!!!!

  • Lovely sound shame the engine isnt yet in a bmw sport bike

  • i kinda hate touring bikes but i have to say this thing looks and sounds awesome!!!

  • not my cup of tea :) nice looking though

  • Sounds like an aston martin after 3:14 lol....nice nice bike

  • @elcomcf I was thinking Porsche or Ferrari but yea, sounds more like a supercar. I know what I want for Christmas!

  • holy luxurious balls.

  • Wow, beautiful roads! the bike is no slouch for being so big either!

  • Sounds a lot like my triumph.

  • Like the "keep left"-sticker on the windscreen ;D

  • The engine noise is awesome

  • i wish i could afford one.

  • @Knickknack93 me too

  • imagine that with a turbo kit on it

  • @Rohan419 :o
