  • What the fuck is wrong with his hair? Shit

  • @starlandseay it's the result of a very complicated gypsy curse. Actually, I don't mind the part that caused my hair to go like that, but the part that forces me to read and respond to YouTube comments is nothing less than excruciating.

  • @shwooddotcom LMAO!

  • WHAT IS THIS??

  • SMH! There is always someone acting like ass about things they rather explain instead of realizing there are things that can't be.

  • hey i cant open part 9 what happened to

  • Ho ... this young man is a great comedian. How do these people prepending the bank account of this comedian? ... He is very funny and had a good audience in the circus, but the people there were actually on stage, comedian and watched them. Very funny, better than Bozo. I know nothing of the new spiritualism. Hahahahaaa

  • alot of what this guy says is truth but theres also things about the metaphysical world that are 100% TRUE

  • This Guy is a total idiot, he obviously hasne tried table tipping before because I could take him to a table with 3 other people and get the table to rise with only our fingers lightly on the top.

  • information from beyond the normal sense spectrum and from the mind itself which is directly connected to nature itself

  • dosing and the pendulum and other forms of divination that uses some form of random patterning to find meaning. it is the point of the whole thing that the subconscious and unconscious mind is moving the object. these methods are used to bypass the conscious mind to tap directly into the subconscious and unconscious mind some people are more skilled at taking in valid information. The subconscious and unconscious mind get more information then the consciousness information

  • I have had experiences where things have happened after the death of someone that I knew. The motive for this video: We have to condition people's minds strictly to a materialist paradigm. If they can not make them afraid and obscure the reality of death then how will they be able to control people in the material condition? If people really knew that they were going to die they would oritent their entire lives towards the fact. People live in materialist delusions in the west.

  • @RayL1983 what strange things have happened?

  • You do make some great points though, my friend. The pendulum thing was a nice touch. However, keep in mind that people who believe pendulums are manifested from psychic ability will say that the unconscious muscular movements move the pendulum when you become passive to the instrument. They can be consciously directed, of course, but much like in automatic writing, conscious control can be suppressed. Whether pendulums can channel psychic ability or not, is another question entirely.

  • This was to satisfy the minds of all present as to the authenticity of what he was doing. I must conclude that Home was genuine. There is no evidence of any weight that he was a fraud in any way. All claims of fraud have little to no historical backing. He was very closely investigated.. The people he proved his abilities to were not gullible people, contrary to popular opinion. No one has ever adaquately imitated or even explained away the phenomena he produced.

  • @429Cage If the question is whether or not Home was legit, then there's no way either of us knows for sure. However, we do know that he never submitted himself to skeptical (houdini-level) review. This would be the equivalent today of a psychic refusing to submit to a double-blind experiment... which is always a red flag for fraudulence.

  • @shwooddotcom Also, there is evidence that Robert Houdin investigated Home at a seance held before Napolean the third. I realize that is in dispute, but many magicians were present at his seances. It would seem logical to assume that they would have caught him if he were in fraud, especially as willingly as he submitted himself to study (investigate that; he did). Of course, I agree with you. There is no way to know for sure if he was genuine or not.

  • @shwooddotcom You are correct with that statement. We can't know for sure, yet we must always accept the evidence. And for a moment, define "Houdini level review". Though Houdini didn't himself test Home, Home was investigated by many great investigators. We can't really claim that the investigators weren't good at what they did. At the time of Home, psychical research was a very new type of "science", if you will call it that. The methodology for testing was still developing.(and still is).

  • As for the woman who you claim he "blackmailed", that is untrue as well. That was her claim. However, she adopted him freely according to many reliable sources. She did this in hopes that he would be her personal "medium". Later she retracted what she did and sued him, with none of Home's friends ever leaving his side. Home never charged money, and on a variety of occasions when he was being strictly tested, he even offered to be searched completely by everyone present.

  • This is a very non-informal video. It has plenty of half-truths and outright lies. Investigate the matters for yourself. Daniel Dunglas Home only was recorded doing seances in the dark on two occasions. Both were during experiments for "spirit lights", therefore darkness was beneficial. Home was highly opposed to holding seances in the dark, as he revealed in "Lights and Shadows of Spiritualism".

  • @429Cage did... did you mean "non-informational?"

  • there are people who realy can do work with pendulas etc. but 99% of those people are facke. the best people to tell you stuff you want to know is actually yourself but you have to make time to ease youre mind :-) learn to love the absolute silence and you will find :-) peace :-)

ps: don't hate on him it tends to hurt youreself :-) (he's quite nice)

  • who does he think he is? and that hair is he for real, or is he just trying to get attention.

  • look at the hair on this douchebag

  • I've seen professionals use dowsing.

  • Dowsing does actually work. My grand-mother owns a huge property and they needed to find a water underground to have water to live. They used dowsing and no, they do not have water EVERYWHERE underground.

  • looks like demons aiding these people to float.....witches testify to that all the time.

  • I love how this guy's view on spiritualism is that everyone is scared to death while preforming any ritual. People like this guy always try to disclaim something and talk only about the "fakes". They somehow always tend to ignore instances where something truly inexplicable happened. I personally think that this guy doesn't give a damn about helping people but is racking in the dough just like the fake spiritualists he talks about.

  • part 9/14 blocked

  • shwooddotcom,

Great videos! You are an excellent presenter and speaker. I also enjoy the topics you cover.

  • How long you take to do this hairstyle?

  • visit it is written com click on televison then daily show go to october look at the house that was never fineshed...it explains a lot, thanx

  • visit it is written com

  • What this guy completely over looks is the importance of public trance mediums in familiarizing the public with women speakers. Women could speak in public. As trance mediums they could because it was the spirits speaking and not them. Issues discussed included abolition and women's suffrage. The Spiritualist movement was a reaction to the Calvinists notions of predestination. It was an attempt to take religion away out of the hands of elitists.

  • Very nice and very true article..

  • who busted you for that hair lolz, just kidding. .good video

  • What's disappointing is that I was always under the impression that dowsing ONLY worked BECAUSE of the unconcious movement. It's a way of letting your subconcious wave a flag to your concious mind.

  • What's disappointing is that I was always under the impression that dowsing ONLY worked BECAUSE of the unconcious movement. It's a way of letting your subconcious wave a flag to your concious mind.

  • This guy has ALL the answers doesn't he?

    ((yawn))..

  • This guy doesn't even have his facts right. Other people who try to debunk these things don't even bring up the points he argues lol. This guy is obviously just wanting attention instead of researching.

  • Hi there..watch my dowsing lessons

  • I love debunking. It's so disappointing that people still believe in spiritualism and dowsing and all the other ridiculous hoaxes.

  • he got it wrong spiritualism is NOT about contacting the dead

  • Agreed.

  • Such an annoying smart ass.

  • if they are good points, then why can't he say it isn't real?

  • Ok, he just mentioned Table Tipping but not explained it. Even didn't debunked it. Is anyone debunked table tipping?

  • Really enjoying this series of videos... Interesting that you don't touch on religion - seems to be the one thing we're not allowed to challenge - heaven forbid we might offend. But in my mind, no different to all the other things you discuss. No more proof of god than of ufos!

  • Actually the story of the Fox sisters was much more complicated than that. Kate Fox did write a "confession" for the press saying their spirit work was all a scam but then years after that she recanted this story admitting she only "confessed" because she was desperate for money.

  • mind-controllers come in many forms.

  • this guys awesome

  • Ignorance is bliss. Duh, he's giving away the book, and obviously if he's hosting the videos himself (which he is, Brian Brushwood = shwooddotcom) he's not too concerned about making money. Sure, he has to make a living, but at least he's just entertaining and never claims to have powers of any sort and he's honest.

  • yeah anyways writers dont make that much so saying a guy wrote a book just for money would mean that guy did not know much about writing.

  • And the modern definition of science is more directed on the scientific method than the current knowledge. And once again i haven't said that your "thing" is impossible. I just ask you to produce real proof! And i don't like you calling me junior. Age has nothing to do with this and it is a pathetic attempt to lower my position in this discussion. Once again. It's simple. Just provide EVIDENCE. We know how you can get similar results with other theories. Now prove your theory.

  • They are both magicians and know how easy it is to fool people and they can even with their methods and what they know recreate things that are claimed in other pseudosciences. And if you or any other person else hasn't been able to produce any real proof of what your doing is true, why should any one believe you? It's easy to trick one person. Harder to trick the scientific method. And how come you think you know more about science than those who are considered the best on it in the world?

  • If he spent half as much time learning how to dowse as he did putting this schlock program together that takes advantage of the average person's spiritual naivete, he'd be singing a different tune. As it is, he obviously never figured how to do it so he has to convince everyone here that it can't be done.

Nice hair ....... tell him he can take his hand off the knife he stuck in the wall socket.

  • Micro muscular movements. That's what the $cientology "E-Meter" measures! LOL :)

  • Isn't it measuring skin resistance? I guess it could measure palm sweat, not that it means anything.

  • "Isn't it measuring skin resistance?"

Yes, as a base reading, The slight fluctuations that are supposedly measuring "mental charge" are these micro movements that a person can't conceal or control, Indicating (on the E-Meter) like any other lie detecting device .

  • Saw the magical hex nut and unicorn string on Scam School today.

  • Source for what exactly? He isn't required to disprove what hocus pocus other people believe. Had DD home actually done an experiment to prove his "abilities" this wouldn't even be a question.

  • MelvilleMelvin, you were called a retard because you are a retard who believes in such obviously fake stuff.

    Logic: 1

    Spiritualism: 0

  • LOL, shut up, retard. Does this look like a peer-reviewed paper or something to you? It's a freakin' presentation. If this guy listed sources for everything he said, this show would be three times as long. Go look up your own sources.

  • Comment removed

  • @subhashkamboj

What are you talking about? I never said anything about the veracity of his presentation? Why don't you go back and re-read my comment and see who/what I was responding to.

  • @dookdawg214 I apologise for wrong commenting and therefore have removed my comment. Actually I wanted to post for someone else and by mistake put against you. Apology again.

  • @dookdawg214 there no biblical evidence that the death speaks to us and many times ppl who involved in these things get busted l8er on so open up ur mind and dont be fool the many ppl high in society is involved in these nonsence so if its not peerreviewed what do u think? dont be stupid now! Anyway,visit- it is written com : click on televison then daily show go to october look at the house that was never fineshed...it explains a lot, thanx

  • @simplysayin

Your comment is so nonsensical and confusing. What are you trying to say to me?

  • @simplysayin Your comment about biblical evidence is wrong. 1 Samuel 28:15 states "Samuel said to Saul..." No, it doesn't say "an evil spirit pretending to be Samuel..." Is English your native language?

  • Yes, but we can establish by physical evidence and history that real twenties do exist. So if someone wanted proof of their existence, such evidence could be readily provided.

  • I'm not sure what is the presenter's intent with this video but when it got to the part related to ideomotor signaling, the presenter seems to have been insinuating that unless the person consciously knows the answer, he will get no ideomotor response. He has much to learn about his mind yet - not from books, but from digging deep within (Get to know thyself). As respectable Dr. Milton Erickson put it "your conscious is smart, but your unconscious is much smarter."

  • I agree. He throws the terms "micro-muscular" and "ideomotor" around like he's some kind of an expert on the subject. Any decent chiropractor could have a field day with this guy's misunderstanding of the topics.

That's the problem with these people; their egos are so wrapped in protecting who they think they are, that they have no room left over to find out what part of themselves they haven't yet realized. Same thing with Randi and Derren Brown.

  • yeah I'll admit he does oversimplify stuff but....I dont know about dowsing thats all Iamma say

  • I teach dowsing. In the last map dowsing class, I assigned one woman the task of finding my ex-girlfriend's house on a map that was maybe 100 or 200 sq miles, something like that. She came within half a city block.

I wasn't trying to subconsciously feed her the answer, I was only teaching her what to feel for so that she COULD find it herself. Other people have some other very natural sensitivities that can be expanded with practice, but you can't get anywhere if you don't try.

  • How many times has has any one been wrong? And even if you wasn't trying you could send out signals. That's the whole point of what he said. And what of the things he talked about do you think is wrong? He is not saying that there is nothing to dowsing but rather that there is nothing magical to it but simply a normal human effect/response. And even alot of dowsing supporters agree with that.

  • Actually, you are right, there isn't anything magical about it. It is actually an innate ability given to every cell in the body that goes back to the beginning of evolution of Earth. The problem is that it is so subtle that our five normal senses override it almost every time.

I think if you listen more closely, you'll find that he isn't giving dowsing a very good name. Anyway, he is completely missing the point and never mentioning Chevreul's other contributions to dowsing.

  • Brian Bristlehead never mentions a guy named deBriche and his contributions add even more meat to the argument.

Broomhead demonstrates what happens when a person is unaware of the intrusion of their own ego, but I noticed that he tip-toed carefully around what happens when people train themselves to get the ego out of the way. So, in essence, he makes everyone believe that they consciously made the pendulum move, which isn't how it works at all. I mean, you CAN make it do that, if you want.

  • My point is that, sure, you can listen to these idiots all day long and they can rant about why something doesn't work. All it means is that they HAVEN'T figured it out yet. Meanwhile, they are the laughing stock among those people who HAVE figured it out.

Case in point: Quackwatch founder, Dr. Stephen Barrett, a narrow minded idiot and self appointed crusader for everything HE perceives is decent. He, like Broomtop, here, uses actual data (like Chevreul) to turn an argument against itself.

  • He and all other skeptics are ready to believe if any one could show some real proof. It's as easy as that. And that is reason to call any one idiots. The burden of proof are on your shoulders.

  • "ability given to every cell in the body that goes back to the beginning of evolution of earth " ... How the fuck would any one know that? Even if there was any bit of truth in dowsing with talk like that it screams pseudoscience. And all these magicians are doing is proving that they can do the same thing pseudosciences do but with psychology and tricks. Sure! May be that dowsing and mediums and so on are real. But they fit exactly to other explanations and don't really show any real effect.

  • ...because, we still have microflora that remain in the fossil record, and they haven't changed since then. No, I went back in time and figured it out. What pseudoscience? The Earth isn't flat any more, HELLO!! Many new issues should necessarily be challenged by a skeptical body; it's a realistic part of the scientific process to question what is valid and what is not, but skepticism should not become a pseudoscience in itself.

  • How can you prove that that an ability existed in those cells that are fossilized? And cells are not exactly the same. Sure animals, plants and so on have similar cells but they are not exactly the same. Even within the human body there are an incredible amount of different cells. Most visually different would be the sperm cells and nerves. What proof is there that this "ability" exists and what proof is it that it exists in every single organism from the beginning of life?

  • If some of those same species still exist today and they can sense the presence of each other without expressing a chemical trail or having to come into direct contact with each other, I doubt they are speaking between themselves in Esperanto or using semaphore.

The fact that Randi has also turned down people who wished to be tested because they had wanted to design a test to eliminate Randi's built in failure mechanisms, says a lot about Randi's offer. Bristletop, here, is no exception.

  • Built in faliure mechanisms? The controlled conditions are what science is! You close all the opportunitys except the one that is needed. For spoonbender we know how to do it without magical powers so we film in every angle and use our own spoons. And so what if James Randi "cheats". There are thousand of other RESPECTED scientist that could help you to really test it. But no one ever does.

  • Look, Junior, it's obvious that you still haven't figured out how to do it or that you have any clue as to what you're talking about. You're just parroting the same levels of misunderstanding that Broomhead and Randi have, Actuall;y, no, I take that back. Randi might even know how it happens and may actually be taking advantage of the ignorance of his audience.

At one time, science supported bloodletting and the notion that the Earth was flat. At any time, it will always have its limitations.

  • The word "science", by very definition, is merely the extent of our current knowledge of something. It doesn't attempt to explain those aspects of the Universe that we don't yet comprehend. It's one thing to be skeptical; it's still another to call oneself a "skeptic" and stick one's head in the sand. It reminds me of the quote by Charles Duell, head of the US Patent Office in 1899, "Everything that can be invented has been invented." He had suggested that Congress close down the Patent Office.

  • Actually, Duell never made that statement. It's urban legend, but it goes to show how people think about things. The average person believes in physical science, but science beyond that, they have to take for granted. They can touch a tomato but they can't touch or even fathom a mu meson or a quark. After that particle physicist discovers what dowsing is about and explains it to the general public, THEN everyone will forget their skepticism and be saying, "Oh, THAT'S how it works."

  • Misunderstanding? I'm not saying that your theory isn't possible. Just that you have to prove it! You haven't tried that. I have asked you to show me any actual proof but you haven't. Modern science would have to accept that there is even magical powers if that was proven, even if they could not explain it. And you know why Brushwood and Randi is such skeptics?

  • Hey, I never said I had the genius to "prove" it, all I know is that it works; not all the time, mind you, but when it works, it is so far beyond probabilities, it's staggering. I happen to often get secondary corroborating information that I never asked for, but some days I'm just "OFF" and I can usually predict when my answers will suck.

I can only suspect that by allowing myself to better access alpha and theta, that I have a better chance at coming up with an answer that means anything.

  • And getting that proper access isn't easy in a stressful world. That's why so many people who get their shorts in a knot over this issue aren't in a position to see the possibility of it working at all. That level of denial of their own inherent ability is a very negative deterrent for "anyone" around them who even tries to do it.

I mean, if I was being told that people were giving out free gold bars out on my street corner, but every time I looked, there was nothing there, I'd be pissed, too.

  • If anyone wants to pursue this subject, see Victor Zammit's presentations right here on youtube. He's a retired lawyer (Australia) and claims he can prove life after death in a court of law.

  • spiritualism is not talking to the dead. you are a fucking idiot

  • right oo

  • Some statements are false DD Home didn't usually perform before "scared" people, and he performed his featsin broad daylight.

    from Wikipedia:

William Crookes claimed to know of more than 50 occasions in which Home levitated, many of these at least five to seven feet above the floor, "in good light."

  • I have no doubt that's how some people remembered it. Check out the section on "Memory and Eyewitness Testimony" to get an idea of what my response is.

Thanks for the thoughtful (and actually researched!) response, though.

  • No prob, I'm researching DD Home for a book and it appears that here are a staggering number of eyewitnesses to the bizarre phenomena that surrounded him--including skeptics and scientists.

  • I don't mean to be a jerk, here, but there's a staggering number of witnesses who have seen Cris Angel and David Blaine do a bunch of the same stuff.

  • Not at all jerky to disagree, as long as it is done with civility.

Your point is taken, but let's not compare apples to oranges. Were the people who saw them "do a bunch of the same stuff" sceptics who were allowed access to them in broad daylight? Did observers go there to debunk these performers? Did the same circumstances exist as to technology?

  • Yes, street magicians perform in broad daylight, yes they are observed, they very seldom use modern super-science but rather age-old trickery perfected, ironically enough, by men like DD Home. Eyewitness testimony by superstitious Victorians is unlikely to convince me that one particular person with psudeonatural abilities existed - I find it far more likely he was better at chicanery then his contemporaries.

  • @shwooddotcom On top of that - Wikipedia is edited by ANYbody. Having researched or knowing your subject is not a necessary qualification to having your 'knowledge' posted. Check what the word 'Wiki' means MelIsNotSoSmart. :)
