I think that you have to hold like hang glider, it is clear that you have holding at right side and always turning it. it is simetric, try to hold both hands at the same place after leave the boat. sorry about my poor english.

That looks like fun, is that Whitmore lake in Michigan? You will have to try it in the winter when the lake freezes on skis or ice skates.
