  • awesome.... OUTSTANDING

  • The juice is all runnin down my leg.

  • Mesmerized.

  • Great job, but the lazy swing is missing. Granted, that WAS the most difficult and overlooked element of Bonham's playing, but it's also what made him stand out from other simply hard-hitting players.

  • @allrequiredfields exacty that is what his playing made it so reconisable

  • Ed and Bob, VERY Well Done. Best versionn I have heard !

    12/28/11 =MoJo*)=

  • SOBERBIO !!

    BRAVO !!

  • Bass playing is the best part of the song,it took me a few months to get it together and sound proper, the drum parts I was playing at 12 yrs old.For me stringed instruments seem harder to memorize,I guess Im better at drums than bass, this is a HARD song to really nail on the bass, not any sit in my room player can master it,its a tuff one, those who can nail I give credit .

  • sorry man, wrong socks to play the drummis

  • yes indeed bass, and drums are the backbone of the band.

  • The Bassline is just incredible

  • Great video, listen to it all the time!

  • I would play page's part but that's really awesome

  • I hate the part at 2:58

  • I'm a guitarist and i have to say this is purely awesome!

  • excellent and tight!

  • with in the first 30 seconds i was so drawn in, this is how you know its the bass and drums that reach your soul and heart while the guitar and vocals reach your ears

  • I HAVE TO LEARN THIS NAAOOOOO!!!

  • We need more footage of Ed Greene on youtube.

  • You guys are incredible!

  • I didn't know Larry King was such a bad ass drummer.

  • @davidlm6974 ahahahahahah

  • This is the best bass riff ever.

  • Saw this a few years ago......just saw it again, sexual gents, just sexual...........well done!!

  • I love this! Especially the drummmin'. You've got awesome style!

  • Congratulations, guys!!

  • STRAIGJT UP DOPE!!!

  • i just started playing bass guitar i loveit its soo much fun

  • every musician is important in any band (they all have their own role to play within the band). You need a strong rhythm section to keep the groove and timing in the band and you build up from there. Guitar and bass get the time from the drummer. Bass gives the groove. Guitars shred etc etc... Apart from that... I thought this was brilliant :)

  • I haven't the slightest idea how people get the idea that drums and bass are the most important instruments in a band. On average, what would someone be more likely to listen to: drums and bass only, or guitar and singing only? I mean, seriously.. Not knocking the rhythm section at all, cuz i showcase them heavily in my own compositions, but by no stretch are they more essential

  • @GuitarGreek006 honestly bass and drums sound good on their own. vocals and guitar? not so much. extremely empty.

  • @GuitarGreek006 the bass and drums may or may not be the most essential instruments but they're the most relied upon. you need a drummer to help keep everyone in time and then you need a bass player to lock in with the drummer and keep the groove going/ play the progressions underneath the solos, if you don't have those things you're going to have a pretty empty sounding band and by saying people would listen to just guitar and vocals more is taking the original statement out of context.

  • absolutly perfect

  • THIS IS JUST TO UNBELIEVABLE!! For the first time i'm my life I see Ed Greene on drums,, The very guy that play for non other than the "guru of love" BARRY WHITE! Yes Barry White,,,, and the LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA!

Yes that's him on that sizzing solo on "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby" IM JUST totally blown away, Totally fickin unbelievable!!! YOU DO IT ED!!

  • これってホントにあのエド・グリーンなの!?

  • Stan lee on drums....

  • Excellent!!! Great combo Ed and Bob!!!

  • This sounds great, great job. JPJ is the man!

  • Good bass, but where are the high hats?

  • the bass is defenetly perfect! However, I missed the licks and fills in the drum...that are so special from Bohnam on the original track

  • Nice work, Ed & Bob!

  • good ..

  • 22 people who hit Dislike are now sharing a stateroom aboard the USS I WOULDN'T KNOW GOOD MUSIC IF YOU SHOVED A BUST OF BEETHOVEN UP MY ASS.

  • this should be played in the elevator :D

  • Rhythm section gets a round of applause!

  • Nice !Drummer forgot the bell part >>>still great

  • Laying it down!

  • LEGEND ED GREENE.....Straight Groovin

  • that is awesome man. Perfect drumming and great tone on the bass

  • Nice Bass, is that a modulus? the black headstock and neck look like carbon or graphite.

  • One of my favorite bass lines and you guys rip it up. So much feel!!

  • Nice bass ! What model is that ? Like the double set of pickups on it.

  • VERY NICE!

  • very good,love it

  • you cats are smokin!!

  • awesome.. i can't play any instruments, but i love hearing good music. i remember the first time i heard this song.. john paul jones rips it. and you 2 guys have a great groove.. good job.

  • Nice Zep groove - As a guitarist, it is a pleasure to play along with your jam here. Thanks for posting it. You guys are great!

  • Very, very nice and sooo funky!!! Every thing's groovin' and so in-the-pocket!! I didn't miss the guitar or voice at all. An inspiration to all those that play in the rhythm section!

  • My Grandpa on drums!... hes into R@B and i love to play to metal haha he hates the double bass! I love it! But he can read drum notes so well and i barely can do the basic notes!

  • try to watch it without getting the groove!

i always come back to this when I need a kick

    thanks for the great vid

  • @whiterobin couldn't have said it better mate, cheers!

  • Wow ! Feel and emotion are really there !! And what a great duet perform !!

  • bass is pretty damn good, so is the drummer but its a little too, for lack of a better word, white. =D

  • wow all i can say is these guys kick ass,lol the drummer had no cymbles @ all just stright up old school, lol these guys are tight!

  • This video shows that the drums and bass are the most important instruments in a band.

  • @tickemo Damn straight.

  • @tickemo dude,that's why it's called - the BAND -.-

  • @tickemo Yeah but it's the guitar that makes you sing ; )

  • @tickemo Not a single instrument is more important than another.

  • @Berserkedy True, but the drum and bass are just slightly more important then other instruments

  • @daarhebikschijtaan I'd agree with that.

  • @tickemo but I can only listen to this once in a row, without the "song"

  • @tickemo there is no such thing as the most important instrument asshole

  • you matched the original bass tone quite well!

  • well done mates

    very nice

  • He looks really awkward on the drums. On the hihat mostly. But whatever, cuz he's really good :)

And great cover could listen all say

  • @HipCovers Ed Greene is a legend. If you've heard all those Barry White productions, that's him on the drums. The guy was one of the top drummers, and in demand, drummers on the West Coast during the 70s.

  • Extraordinary guys, one of the coolest bass lines I know, great John Paul Jones!

Very accurate, all nuances of bass were captured.

The bass sound is also featured, really like timbre. And the groove of the drummer is great.

    Congratulations from Brazil,

    Marcos

  • is there a repeat button somewhere? :D

  • Ahhhh, no guitars, no confusing words....I could listen to you two all day!

  • Both areSMOKIN!!!

  • to the drummer, are you reading sheet music?

  • @MrMaestro14231 Check out the accompanying video Making of the Lemon Song.

  • i never get tired of watching or listening to this vid

    love it, awesome

  • Hey that bass is really cool! I love the reversed precission pickups!

  • so smooth totally different than a guitar solo.

  • Impeccable! I really enjoyed the sound, kudos.

  • Fantastic work guys!! You guys Nailed it! 10/10!!

  • I like to think it's Larry King that looks like Ed Greene, not the contrary…

  • who knew Larry king and Bob saget could become so good at playin zep?

  • i love playing this drumline and this bass line, the guitar line is fun but not as as both those.

  • You do have to admit that the drummer does have a Larry King look to him.

  • this song makes me love the bass

  • Jamming with this is great! Thanks guys.

  • i could'nt really hear the bass guy :( shame

  • @lantyboy helps if your using earphones, i plugged mine in and it fixed the problem

  • good work!! excellent track.

  • drums has no crash??? i love this video, but they dont show the chorus... :(

  • Sh*t session drumming. lol

  • Bass player looks like Dave Weckle

  • You guys should do more of these

  • Holy crap you guys are the best!

  • Holy shit ! Larry King and Bob Saget rock !

  • Larry King and Jeff Goldblume takin' care of business. Good job guys lets see more.

  • Excellent work gentlemen!

  • Hey, very cool; thumbs up for that.

One question: Witch scale are you improvising in (bass)? Cause every time I'm playing this, it doesn't sound right.

  • seriously?!?! sheet music? just jam dude!

  • What a clear sound guys!

    Exelent, *****

  • the bassman: i'd like he were the zeppelin new JPJ

the drummer : let it go and change hobby...

  • @gote1978

What are you talking about? The drummer is great, they both are!

  • @gleventhal

I'm sorry but i'm not agree with you. The bassman follow the song in a perfect way...like the original JPJ, while the drummer only keep rythm...but he never change when he have to do it. Seems like he doesnt know the song...(infact he reads the notes on the paper). Maybe he has just to learn the song. (sorry for my bad english....)

  • Excellent cover, but next time turn the bass up!

  • Beauty, my favourite part of the Lemon Song recreated. Great to play some lead improv over. Thanks fellas!

  • That was pretty awesome, I gotta say

  • Love it!

  • nice job, great loved it, rock on

  • great work.

  • This is just great! Perfect synch between the drum kit and the bass. I think this is the best bass line from Led Zeppelin. Well done guys. Also it would have been much more original if Ed Greene only had the bass drum, the snare and the hi-hat.

    Nice photography by the way.

  • hazte a la verga piche perro....

  • @Bdlsito pero si estoy yendo por la banquetombre.....

  • Bass isn't quite loud enough. But superb job by all. The drummer is like a freakin atomic clock here, excellent timing. My only question is how can you bear drumming with only a high hat? Needs at least a crash! =O

  • Very smooth

  • i love this video

  • Superb stuff, the bass playing especially! Great tone and phrasing.

  • cant hear the bass man. but what i can hear is good

  • Larry King on drums .....

  • @doryanthes67 That's funny as fuck and sooooo true! Larry's laying it down though!....bwa hahahahaha

  • @doryanthes67 Hahahahaha, i lol'd

  • @doryanthes67 ha....

  • it seems as if the drummer is playing good times bad times and the lemon song and just mashed them together.

  • that ain't even close drummer boy.

  • @nomers363 give the man a break..i bet you can't drum like that at his age

  • Cant even hear the bass, the drums drain the sound

  • get better speakers. i can hear every note.

  • @dviper I'm using a laptop so yeah...

  • drums are play with heart

  • Strange.....using a drum tab

  • @rockermetalhead1200 That's sheet music, not tab, and it's not all that strange especially for jazz drummers or just for songs that have lots of small changes.

  • lol look at his face at 1:15

  • AMAZING JOB! What kind of bass are you playing? It has two sets of P pickups???

  • cool......

  • never understood a drummer reading sheet music..........

  • Man, you make that look so easy! Great cover!

  • super!!

  • where's the rest of it?

you guys skipped the best part of the tune!

  • NICE

  • "bob saget on bass" jk good cover

  • ur fucking hilarious chicken and yes this is a good cover and old man rivers on drums

  • @chickenpotpie1216 haha thats awesome! i never thought of that!

  • Ed Greene, what can I say. You are the funkiest!! I love every record that you played on from the first Lee Ritenour, to Billy Griffin's Hold me tighter in the rain to the Steely Dan stuff. Your shit is slick and it is funky man. Love it!

  • Eta cozinha boa

  • I would like the transcription to the bass line. Anyone know where I can find it?

  • its rlly just playing around with some chords... just learn the root notes and you can replicate it easily

  • believe me, if i knew where to get the transcript to this song, i would have printed it out and been practicing it non-stopped. i wouldnt be on the comp. right now. i LOVE this bass line. its my favorite of all time. the bass dude in this vid is a regular JPJ. and the dude on drums looks kinda like larry king. if YOU find it, plz send it to me. thx! :D

  • learn it by ear

  • Comment removed

  • I have the transcription of this song, it a pdf file about 12 pages long.

  • awesome guys!

  • beautiful bass

  • I see Ed's play for the first time.

    His play is perfect indeed!!!

Snare sound is very very strong.

I want to see his other video.

  • fantastic!!! singing along to this right now.

baby baby baby baby baby baby ah yea

    babe.

  • Great bass work. Not very Bonham like on the drums though.

  • Perfecto!!!!!

  • how are you supposed to play john bonham without cymbal crashes?? ffffssss omggggg

  • thats just great! nice perfomance!

  • Thats strange !

Your bass looks like a Fender P bass 50's or a Telcaster bass. But is this a graphite neck ?

Where dit you bought it ?

    Nice play, indeed.

  • Fantástico!!! Parabéns!!!

  • amazing!!! incredible!!!

  • respect!!!

  • just perfect !!!

  • great!

  • Excellent..

    saw this video last year...

took a while to find it again..

    I saved it...

  • May i suggest changing the title to

The Lemon Song : Drums and Bass

Because when i read the title i was thinking some dickhead went and remixed this great song into drum and bass techno shit.

But great rendition!!! loved it =)

  • accurate to the note, but needs that "feel" that Jonesy and Bonzo had...:-)

  • Great cover, very accurate... JPJ'solo was probably inspired by James Jamerson, anyway this must have made some jaws drop to the floor in 1969

  • Beautiful bass you got there.

  • good, but the bass needs to be louder

  • sounds great and looks like fun! rock on! ignore the trash below me

  • sounds great!!! ..yeah, agree a little more volume on the bass
