  • @dont4get20102010 It's only the first coating.

  • Hello - How do you open the doors if you don't have door handles? THX. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • I would paint the wheels yellow too.

  • Type in "Suzuki Sidekick Topped Out"

  • how is the cut off between the yellow and black, i am thinking of doing this to my truck, but i am having doubts of doing two tone just because of the line i am afraid is going to be really bad

  • nanananannanana batman!!!

  • HAHA!!!! Eye catching but anyhow really cool paint job.

  • dude thats pretty narley, ima spray my focus like that

  • wet sand ???

  • if anyone wants to try a real good way to paint rustoleum, besides spraying it . do one section at a time with a tarp under the car a foam brushing all off it downward, itll drip off but thats why you have a tarp and everything covered, but there is no orange peel because when youre in the shade, if you do it quick and nice enough the paint levels itself out perfect, with the exception of a little solvent pop here and there

  • Im actually lookin to piant my truck like this, so ill prolly get spray paint and hit all the spots the roller wont get to and then start from there. Havent started yet, really dont feel like sanding.....

  • Yeah, those people who dislike it make A LOT of sense . .lemme take it to a body shop and see what I get for $70 lol. For doing it himself, it looks fine. It's not a classic show car people!

  • a few hrs of wet sanding and some touch up work it well look great. i once had the same truck and just primer over the paint lol. but now i have a 99 durango so im going to try a little better paint job lol

  • son of a bitch tits that wagon is ugly!

  • You people need to get serious. Who cares bout orange peel aint your car. Dudes happy wit it, didnt cost an arm and a leg... and didnt pay a body shop outrageous prices to spray shitty paint on that still comes out wit orange peel. Take a good looks at the newly painted vehicles on the road even ones off the show room floor, they all have orange peel. Unless you want to plan to pay over 1000 bucks on paint, color sanding polishing and buffing... Do wut this dude did. Paint it however.

  • Great way to make an old car look pretty good, and have some fun :)

  • WHY??? HELL NO I WOULDNT DO IT EATHER ON A NEW CAR HAHAHAHA..

  • nice runs and orange peel.... PAY A BODY SHOP TO DO IT PEOPLE

  • paint roller!? not bad dude lol..but u can buy a paint gun for like 15 or 19 buks! but hey ur way works

  • yoo RESPECT man! u have a nice car and made it work with ur taste :D haha

i got two of those!! i live in Aruba ...google it! its the perfect car to own here I think!

but one i just bought...its old,bit rust but perfect motor and interior...i think im gonna give it a GO now with the paint job,Thanks Bless ..

  • man nice idea but the black is wack clear coat it and use a high gloss ;)

  • You know if u sand it down, and using sandpaper with grit 2000 or 1500 and then hit it with a clear coat.

And polish the clear coat, then it looks like it's some 3000-4000 paintjob ;)

  • Put Pittsburgh Steelers decals on it.

  • Hey i've done this paint job several times over and I would suggest you thinning it out more, the thinner the coats the less orange peel you'll get. Just my experience with it. You'll have to do more coats but if you wet sand every 2-3 coats it'll look like glass when your done.

  • Just wondering how well the paint has withstood the test of time....

  • hey bro not bad. heres a tip...to get rid or the orange peel just wet sand it with a mixture of dish soap and water and a 1500 or 1000 grit sandpaper. it will leave a dull finish but then you go over it with some rubbing compound and then hit it with some good polish to bring out the shine.

  • @mrtubero everybody needs to pay attention to what banedsigh and mrtubero said; absolutely the best practices for getting a great long lasting finish on a car with rustoleum... good info, gents.

  • hahaha nice taxi cab! I paint rollered mine an irritating blue color. Everyone vomits in their mouth when I drive past. Getting in my car and driving down the street is like sitting at a Bill Hicks (RIP) performance and not catching most of the comedy because you laugh so hard.

I was pulled over by the police a few times because they thought my car wasn't roadworthy on the inside. Bahahaa!!

  • bro for rustoleum thats a fuckin good first coat im not gunna lie

  • Im looking to customize my chevy luminia. I think you did a really good job for the money. Pretty cool colors too, i like the half and half.

  • dont mind these nay sayers. Its good to see people do their own modifications, thats what its all about

  • would a 20% thinner and 80% rustoleum work for a roll on paint job?

  • If you dont care i dont eather.. It all looks good at about 20 mph anyway so fuck it,,

  • mineral spirit car wash would fix the mistake...

  • pretty cool

  • You rolled it on lol

  • If this guy is proud of his job and how it turned out... more power to him.. atleast hes not sitting on his rump watching youtube all day.. everyone has to learn. GOOD JOB!!!

  • eh brah good job eh!! i live hawaii too!!!!! i think i saw your car in waianae!!! haha oh man where you bought your paint??? good job though!!!!! you cant beat 50 bucks if it scratches again just paint right over!!! respect bro!!!! dont listen to these guys who say shit about your paint at least you worked hard on your car and know the flaws. sad what some haoles here say on the post...sad

  • Looking good man. Not bad for a first coat... You can actually wetsand that pain and put a nice clear on it. Looks great.

  • thats cool man, at least it looks decent. Some people drive around old rust buckets that look like shit and I bet their the ones bashing you on your paint job.

  • @Rampersad454 ahahaha I know right!!!

  • must have been hard doin the black at night i remembered when i spraybombed my s10 black at night in the mornin i could still see where i missed ha

  • as long as youre satisfied i guess but i can achieve alot more with less money bro, rattlecans are the best way to go if youre headed down the cheapy route

  • Did the same to mine Same colors too. I was real happy with how it turned out

  • rustoleum method isnt as bad as what this video makes it, he just totally rushed it, Im sure he could fix it though if he really wanted too.

  • For those who dont pay attention he said that its his first coat of coarse it aint gunna look the best on the first coat but he did a hell of a job on it. So if your gunna talk shit about it why dont you actualy watch the video and hear what he says.

  • That's such a CRAP job. I would be ashamed to drive the car to the junk yard with that paint job yet alone make a video and post it for others to see. This is a good example of How NOT to paint a car LMAO. I don't care if it's cheap or not, come on.....a roller?? Even a rattle can would be better than that! FAIL!!!!!

  • wow man thats not bad for a roller... what roller u used for it?

  • LOL look are that PEEL!

If you get hungry you could peel it and eat it LOL

  • it'd probably look a lot better if the top was white instead of yellow. just my opinion. i'm going to try this out too! thanks for the vid!

  • water sand the orange peel and throw another coat on there and repeat. are you using high gloss...?

  • I be there's no rust on that fucker

  • @forkandplate preach it! fuck these haters.

  • haha wat part of "FIRST COAT "dont you fuckin idiots get? yah of course its gunna look like crap thats why you sand it and lay more coast on..i never did tha roll on i wen use tha spray gun on my yota and it came out just like them $500 paint jobs and i only paid $50. shyt me and my fren wen paint choke cars using that paint and people still trip how good it looks a few years later. soo all you fukers dat like hate all gotta say is "FACK YOOOOU"

  • rollers must have been a bitch.

  • 5 stars from me. rollers hahaha.

  • this is pretty badass for using a roller wouldnt try it on my car though

  • why why why!!?!?!?

  • yellow and black car in Hawai, you want a heavy suntan, here in Canada we have ski doo's, but hey, its still a good job for the value of the suzuki...have a nice tan ;)

  • You have literally no attention to detail, making your car look like complete shit.

  • Unique though :)

  • holy orange peel!

  • Orange peel is great....on oranges.

  • gay pait job 4 a gay car

  • I did this on a shitty old tercel.. the paint job looked like asshole

  • poor tercel

  • its all about patience. with enough patience, itll turn out really well. i used spray paint on my car, that was 2 years ago. its still the same today. i think its cuz i used a ton of clearcoat over the paint.

  • you fucking rolled it your crazy

  • looks good dude nice job

  • Mad orange peel! Looks like crap.

  • You have to wait a while for this shit to cure after you get all the coats on it and polish and sand it down..

  • that thing looks like shit!

  • I admire your spirit, and I appreciate you making the mistake for me to learn from. I was thinking of doing this type of thing myself. Now I'll just stick to rust and faded paint. At least I can blame mother nature for my crappy paint.

  • haha blame mother nature that's awesome! ( I know what you mean, I'm in MN) LOL

  • wait wait wait!!! You ROLLED it on?!?! HAHAHA LmAO! Holy Orange Peel. I'm 99% positive that even a $20 spray gun from Harbor Freight Tools would've done a better job.

    You crack me UP!

  • I know people who have done it with paint brushes. If you take your time and do good prep work it can come out fine.

  • Comment removed

  • it looks cool

  • Dude that looks way good! I'm definetly going to do this with my truck.

  • not too bad for the price u paid lol

my brother has the spray guns and all and me and him are gonna buy some candy paint or somethin for my car, 93 ford thunderbird, the paint that comes on them stock really sucks its sunburnt to hell on my trunk and roof lol, surprisingly not the hood at all though lol

  • You got your roller too wet when painting it. If you would have gone a bit easier on the paint, it wouldn't have dripped under the paint so much.

    Otherwise pretty good.

  • wow so what i had learn in school how to paint cars with a spray gun is all wrong.dam it now i know my next paint job use a paint roller lol

  • spray is not wrong roller is wrong...look at how rough the finish is

  • Orange peel is common in painting with a roller, all you have to do is sand it down to fix it

  • did you only use those two cans?

  • just needs to be wet sanded

  • ya re another coat then buff light sand with water clean it good then add clear coat and buff again should look rad.

  • big props my man looks good.fuck the haters...their too pussy to do it themselves

  • kinda has a scion xb look to it now... you know all these haters.... kudos to you man... you tried and it looks pretty dam good...

  • Yep, it looks like a $70.00 paint job...

And to add insult to injury, you went with the two shittiest colors known to man.

Thanks for the video, now excuse me while I go puke somewhere...

    Have a nice day. : )

  • true color choice isnt the greatest but ur not gonna spend 1000$+ on a paint job on a vehicle worth 50$ are you? i would have gone with a color that doesnt need to look glossy like white

  • coming from someone who probably drives a his moms homo blue (noted in the supra community by that name) minivan. find a black and yellow yenko and tell me they are shitty colors moron.... props to you birdman, ill soon be taking on a rust-o paintj ob of my own , you just do that extra coat and make sure to wetsand :D

  • Atleast it's not going to rust.

  • dude. it look like a 2 year old power hurled paint chunks on it... WTF.... Laughs like a mad man.

  • when you prepped your car did you sand all of the paint of or just sand it until the paint was level then paint over the existing paint?

  • lol..he rolled it..im pretty sure there was no sandpaper involved in that 70 bux..

  • wat kind of paintt is that because it dont look that bad...and you only used a roller?

  • Hit that joker with a da and some 500 grit up to 1200 grit and it'll be glossy!

  • just fuckin spray it

  • That would have looked awesome if you had done it in a different colour, the yellow and the green doesn't work you should have got turquoise paint.

  • Actually, the "50-dollar paint job" has been quite popular and looks outstanding if you do the procedure CORRECTLY..i did mine with ZERO orange peel and with a mirror like finish people i know cant tell the difference from a "normal" paint job to my rust-oleum paint job

  • ok,for one,you shoulda went w/ spray.for two you should have done it slower.and dude, you fucked up on the lip fo the hood...why didnt you lift the hood before doing the next coat.and btw,go from the top down dumbass, then when it drips paint it wont fucking matter b/c you'll just paint over it.theres a level of ignorance allowed for your first time...but dude...use just a little fucking common sense...seriously...

  • i love this, you remind me of myself when i was 17 with the my 76 nova, i didnt roll it though i bought the spray cans, quit a bit, but o'well , it was alot of fun, i do like that color combo, good job bud!!

  • Ok birdman. You can make that paintjob look good but youve got to slow down. If you wanted to do yellow and black then great. But youve got to do them one at a time. Finish the yellow. Wetsand then repaint, wetsand then repaint until you get it all nice. Then cut and buff the shit out of it. Then repeat for the black. Not evertyone can afford a 1000 dollar paintjob fellas. Give the guy some slack.

  • hahahah this is my work truck who cares what it looks like was bored and experimenting hahahahahha

  • i'm 34 dick

  • Why bother, YOU FUCKED UP.

  • looks like a taxi!!

  • Hey what the hell it's fun!

  • you should quit smoking ice then maybe you could afford a real paint job

  • wow that was the coolest comment ever can tell ur a little middle schooler with nothing better to do then try and crack a lame comment

  • Dude... A $500 Macko paint job would be better then that, and it would be a hell of a lot less work.

But it's your choice, it probably will not last a year.

  • I dont know how it looked before, but Im sure it couldnt have been worse than that. My God! that has bumpy texture, not even reflective. Its more embarassing faking a paint job than driving with regular paint. I like the way you take the paint job serious. What can you say its a $70 paint job.

  • @birdman8o8 You can tell he knows by experience

  • @cheapimpin Duh duh duh Ice, duh duh duh Afford, duh duh duh paint job. herp derp herp derpy derp!

  • looks like an XB

  • u should be slap like a bitch for that mess

  • looks like shit man have some pride

  • Can anyone say orangepeel?

  • What a mess...........

  • you forgot to add the 4 inch muffler

  • Comment removed

  • paint the wheels black...

  • lol i get rims on the ride now days lol

  • too bad you picked some hidious colours and a car not worth shavin

  • I've seen the same method done better for 50..... thinning it out is the important step to have a smooth glossy finish. It will take ages to dry enough to sand and buff that.

  • ya man 50-50 is the way to do it then rubbin compund then gloss

  • i live in hawaii so stuff isnt cheap lol

  • man this is great. I got on here searching the rustuleom stuff so I could paint a vitara (Sidekick)

  • No shit sherlock, thats why he saved 100's of dollars doing it himself. And fuck, that looks like pretty sweet job for a first attempt and under 100 bux.

  • Actually dude this actually turned out pretty good, no shit either. I am looking to do something like this. It does look like a kick ass Scion.

  • DUDE A ROLLER ARE YOU KIDDING ME LOL

  • hey it worked looks pretty damn good.Just google roller paintjobs and you will find people who know what their doing their laying that shit on like glass.

  • damn that shit looks to clean thats the same two tone i want to do my tracker

  • haha that actually looks pretty good.

  • not bad for 70 but i can think of atleast two diferent ways that u could of gotten a better look. first use a sign paint call one shot. it would of had a better shin to the car. over all nice job

  • i love the "stock orange peel" look, i wish i could acheive that, but i i only get the smooth grape effect, maybe next time you could try the pineapple effect?

  • i wish i could achieve the dick comment like you

  • you dont have to buddy, you are the dick.......

  • What happens when your door poppers fail and your windows are up with doors locked?

  • trunck :P

  • I love how kids hate those "unsightly" functionless door handles but don't mind having a frenched in sideways fucking license plate right in the middle of a tailgate or hatch. Don't take it personally, but WTF?

  • dude that looks like a scion xb...

but dude nice job it looks nice for a home project!

  • "you can see the tape kinda fucked up" hahahah yeah. its all good though man. i didnt thin out my first or 2nd coat at all, but i did wesand and polish and it looked great for only 2 coats.

  • can any one please help me out i need to know how much to reduce paint i have a 2 32OZ cans like the yellow one at the beginning of video

thanx would really appreciate it. either tell me as a video comment so others can know too or send it to me in a message thanks alot

  • Good job looks good already

  • paint yo rims. nice job!!!

  • if you look at my other vids i dont have stock rims any more i got some big boyz on it now..............

  • used a roller and it cam out SWEET LOL I WELL DO THIS NEXT

  • What the final look????

  • Hey good job considering the situation and all (hand done etc)..., Im gonna do this to one of my cars, its how i found your vid here i was searching for others who might of done it first to get some tips, Im going with one solid color though, I think you should hit your car again with another coat and tough up all the spots you missed, it'll be just fine, Its an old car so saving money is the way to go. :) the car ill be painting is 15 years old, just a compact car, runs good paints bad. :)

  • I did this, but used an HVLP gun, thinned the Rustoleum with mineral spirits, I primed it before hand, and then sanded it with 150 grit, I sprayed it, and much to my suprise, it was really glossy even without wet sanding or buffing. I spent a little over $50.

  • i havent got past the first coat yet ive been very busy with work will keep updated

  • How are things going so far? I'm trying this on my cars trunk lid.
