CHICAGO Blows....It's like metropolitan Rednecks...PPL there have no class or style....CHICAGO wins the distinction of being the shittiest large city in the US...L.A. and New York are light years ahead of you
@robbiewoolsey Do you sit at home searching Chicago themed videos on the web so you can leave uninformed idiotic comments on them? Did you come to Chicago to meet a girl you met on AOL and get shotdown so now you are venting on YouTube? Did you get in trouble for surfing porn on your Mom's computer and now she has adjusted the parental controls? Did you come to Chicago, mouth off and get beat up? My guess is all of the above!!! Angry douchebag is no way to go through life.
Michael's Beef in Oak Park was always better than Johnnie's. At least it was before Mike sold it. Johnnie's is good but overpriced and overrated. Actually Portillo's, Michael's, and Bouna are all better than Johnnie's. Bouna is also overpriced though. Still like the vid though..
Go to Patio's on chicago's southwest side, across the street from Rosebud a big mafia hangout. The best Italian beefs in the country are served there!!! Taylor and Laflin.
@burberrybedroom: Maybe all the comments on here are about food because the video is about food?! when you clicked on a video titled "Chicago beef", what were you expecting people to be talking about in the comments section, hockey?
Try Parisi's on the 63rd street, south side. The go to Vince's across the street and get a pie! Best pizza in the Midway area! Try the sausage, roast beef! Mushrooms maybe? Depends on the timing.
I just ate a Johnnies Beef and it was the bomb son! Hands down, the best beef in my opinion. I live on the north side of chicago (not suburbs)and I have many places at my disposal. Portillos aint bad but Johnnies smashes it crazy style. Sure, we all know Al's and Al is an old guy, with an old recipe; an old beef. I wish I had room for another beef cuz I would love to smash another but I'm at work so I cant.
I have been everywhere that is known for Beef in Chicago and Johnnies blows everywhere else out of the water. Novis blah, Portillos bland. Browns is okay though.
LoL I just ate there this past Sunday when a couple of friends came back from paintball. I prefer the sausage beef combo with giardiniera. Simply awesome. For those around the Chicago its on North and Harlem.
thanks for the great video of Johnnies beef! I came across this tonight while deciding where I was gonna grab a dog and was compelled instead to grab my keys and fly along North Ave to chow on a juicy beef hot with fries and ice. damn I love Johnnies. The song is called Oh Yeah, and it's by Yello.
God I miss Chicago food so bad. I moved to Florida and I fucking hate everything about this swampland...The food sucks here. What I would give for a Chicago style hot dog and some italian beef. Florida doesn't even have seeded buns. Fuck Florida...Chicago forever!!
There is a great Italian beef place by me it is old school called Novi's in Berwyn it is great it is really hot spicey beef i need like 4 coca colas round me it is soooo hott
Great little video. Actually, Portillo's is a milder version of Italian Beef, geared toward suburban taste. It is quite a bit different from the original Taylor Street stuff, but it works in a pinch.
i disagree, if you order one with hot peppers from Portillo's, it's as hot as any of the sandwiches with giardiniera i've had in the city. i have yet to find an italian beef sandwich as good as portillo's, but i'm open to suggestions
It's not the peppers or the hotness, but the style of beef itself. Bombacigno's J&C on west Van Buren Street is the most similar to the legendary Taylor street beef joints such as Babba's or Nate's. Nate's old location has been Al's for over thirty years. Babba's has been gone even longer. Again, Portillo's is fine. If they ever decide to use fresh cut potatos, they'd really have something. Just my opinion.

Oh yeah!! That's the Best sandwich on earth, although IMHO Jonnie's comes in at as very close second, next to Portillo's who ranks #1 in my book. :)
