2.4 are the best for sure way better then the v6 2.7 i have had my 2002 for 3 years runs awsome only bad things abut them are the transmissions but wht dodge has a good one got mine at 30,000 miles and just now rolled 136,000
@vinyard420ADED Haha. This was a fleet car. 145k miles in, something goes wrong. I think thats pretty damned good. Not to mention they get spectacular gas mileage and they can't be beaten for size, reliability and their good quality and ride. And what exactly do you drive???
@MMiiKKee95 Oh you mean the fun but sad sludge ridden 2.7? The one thats really fun, until the poorly designed oil passages fill with gunk, even if properly maintained until the engine is starved of oil and dies? That 2.7 V6? Nah...We'll keep the more dependable 2.4. 167,xxx miles and still running strong.
@schindlerman96 Well. This was in 2009. The car is a 2001. Some how, by the grace of god, the battery in the car at the time was still the one that came from the factory. So it was low on charge and it finally quit back in march of this year.
did your gear indicator lights always all light up? i just had the same vehicle serviced for a tranny prolem and saw the same thing but i never seen that before.
Also it's supposed to be in P position and if you look close you can see that it's in R position, so I think is a problem bigger than a spark plug. I also have a Dodge Stratus and it has the same problem with these positions, actually I don't know what could it be :(
I would check the plug on cylinder #4. These 2.4L have problems with the spark plug tube seals (as with most hemispherical engines) leaking oil directly on the plug. If thats the case on top of a month of sitting most likely the plug is all gummed up.
I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus and it has 140856 miles on it and i left it sitting for 3 weeks at a time because i also have a Chrysler Pacifica that i drive more. But my Stratus has never sounded like that before.
whats wrong with it

@RDIzzle109 actually, this is more of a problem with the 2.0L 4 cylinders, because of the Rubber Spark Plug Tube Seals in the Valve Cover.
