  • Somewhere in the world it's twenty past four.

  • NO COMMENT: I 'll come back here a thousend times in the next decade, unless a woman keeps me busy...

  • @kjallesoft

...I'll try not to be late

but if you chance to see me

    on the other side

I hope that I will never hear you

    say I never tried...

  • @kjallesoft me 2

  • @kjallesoft

Man, if you find a woman who appreciates this as much as you - you'll be a busy man! And a lucky man !!! Similarly, I come back here a thousand times and I got a woman who loves this too - proof there really is a God :)

  • @kjallesoft

Why not "while a woman keeps you busy"

  • Every time I see a video like this, I think the same thing: Much as I love Clapton's records, my favorite work comes when he guests on someone else's date. Less flash, better music when he gets out of the box. "While my Guitar Gently Weeps", the Bluesbreakers/Beano album, this-- and I once saw a blistering solo on "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" on an Elton John gig. (can't find here). (BTW, the lady is Christine Lakeland, Cale's wife.)

  • @RohitSatoskar clapton is not flash!

  • who is the lady on guitar she is so cool

  • Completely agree with Penthesileya “This guy is just cool without trying to be.” I was boppin down a highway near the Outback 3 days ago. Heard the original on a lame local AM radio station & thought “I gotta get that song!”… Wrote it on my leg with a Texter pen & ‘tubed it tonight. I was greeted with that extra gift of Clapton, it was the icing on the cake. Thank you ... Time to slip back with a Bundy and get lost in music…

  • breezes don't "roll" down the road, they "blow" down the road; aside from that, I have no problems with this performance (Skynyrd got it right, by the way)

  • pure class. coolest man on the planet.

  • Uh......Huh

  • One cool guy and a tight assed nerd to the left

  • JJ Cale's album " Naturally" is amazing. My uncle gave me his old cassette tape when i was 8 years old and i've had to buy the cd 3 times since then because of wear and tear. I'm 30 years old now.

  • That solo but Clapton is the best solo I ever heard. I am going to dedicate myself to learn this. I can already play different sections. Soon or later I can do it all.

  • Eric Clapton was much more of a guitar player then cale. This is my opinion.I have seen Clapton a hell of lot more times then Cale I respect Cale, but Clapton is the Man,PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dog-squirrel chaaaasin, doooog-squirrel chasin, dog squirrel chasin a squrrel.

  • STRONG BREEZE THAT IS...

  • @kjallesoft Ya, I finally figured out my guitar. It only took 39years. Breeze just keeps blowing along. These guys are the masters.

  • Comment removed

  • jj is way more talanted

  • Excellent!

  • nice brothers

  • If your trying to be cool, your not (see John Mayer).

If your not trying to be cool, but you are anyway (see Eric Clapton)

If your trying not to be cool, and your still the coolest guy in the room (see JJ Cale)

  • @lien0569 love the comparison

  • I'd give my right arm to play guitar like JJ or Eric...I think...

  • JJ Cale plays with his right hand fingers, just like Mark Knopfler. And he's got the same hoarse voice. That's why they play the same kind of music. I thank them both for there honey music. I'm one of your fans.

  • Meyer over there picking up some licks...

  • Who was there>>>>>!!!!! Phew...god stuff bu the original artist..

  • Aaaahyessss-----'dem mile markers are jest a'klakin' past my autooomooobile-----whooooosheeee-- =D

  • @candorist I do aswell. But check out his solo on the After midnight-performance with JJ, it tops this i think. Wish i could play both of these. Cale's effortles laid-back solos also rock.

  • "Eric Clapton/JJ Cale-Call Me The Breeze" Now dis 'll git da hous 2 shakin' >>>>>>>>

  • @creakystair Eric Clapton.

  • I Love you

  • JJ, I'll go necrophile for you any ol' day =] JJ Cale is the best musician ever =]

Tums up for the 73 yo man that can rock like he is 24

  • great version, JJ and Eric ROCK!!!!!

  • The Only thing that lasts in the middle of "a field of conflict" seems to be "Being a defenite ,correct but defenite breeze" ... Tough there was nothing in it for me...

TIME FOR CLAPTON AND CALE!!! Totally exceptionally ...even today with 3 !!!

  • No pick required!

  • Por favor............jamas escuché dos estilos diferentes tan sincronizados y bellos entre sí. Brindo por tanto placer

  • A desperado like CALE was a perfect match for CLAPTON...

Alone he would probably still be doing it all wrong...thinking he was doing right.

    His talent found a mirror.

Do not know if today he isn't rolling into cocaine again tough...

  • A desperado like CALE was a perfect match for CLAPTON...

Alone he would probably still be doing it all wrong...thinking he was doing right.

    His talent found a mirror.

  • @candorist I do.

  • This Cale Rascal is awesome.

  • When it comes too 100% manlife based-music, Let's not have women playing even a backgroundguitar...They are better at other things.

  • who's the girl playing acoustic?

  • President Obama ain't no breeze: Let him go after Kaddhafi as he finally got Bin Laden.A nation full of Good Lives who only want to emancipate from slavery is at stake!

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme they see me trolling, they hating.

  • there is no "better" version of a song when everyone who does it does a great version

  • JJ Cale is the coolest musician on the planet !

  • Whoever is the sound engineer for this should be given credit as well. The sound is very good for a youtube video.

  • this music is so good

  • This is one HELL of a performance by Cale, even though I think his music is best suited to a more intimate setting

  • john mayer watching from stage left thinking "damn these guys are good."

  • True Rock Boogie Thanks JJ Cale for all your dynamite songs which have some pretty good covers

  • Christine Lakeland ,Cale's wife

  • J.J. Cale wrote it Skynyrd perfected it.

  • @rivermandan9 Thats like saying Clapton perfected Cocaine ! Great covers, made both alot of money but one can tell who speaks from experience !

  • It's a LOVE THANG

  • Who is the chick? This is bad ass.

  • Who is the chick?

  • My long time friends call me that way ,...the breeze.

My self-proclaimed ennemies call me probably "The Storm" in glaas of water or not...

How am I to know wha non-good-thinking minds do?

They are the first ones to blame.

  • simply genius

    he's so humble, so modest

    one of the greatest

  • BIG Green light for the coolest Breeze ever.

  • so great so j.j. so eric...so flashing exploding both bluesy r&roll together... my favorite rockyblues from all times!!...

  • Where can I buy this video? Or the audio track? This is definitely the best version out there.

  • @GuitarsofMontana

The video is from one of Clapton's "Crossroads Guitar Festivals" DVDs. Don't ask me which year, although I suspect it could be 2004. Clapton and JJ Cale played Call me the Breeze and After Midnight, and yes Sir, both versions are superb!

  • @dieselghost That's the one I just ordered

  • @GuitarsofMontana Eric Clapton's Crossroads DVD

  • Did I say this is good? I meant this is far-f*cking-outta-this-world good.

  • i like the blues guy in parc guell barca better

  • jj has got the green light baby!

  • J J is only person in the world that can restrain Clapton's ego...

  • j'adore la "gonzesse"...

  • Very funny...I my café I meet sometimes "breeze-guys" ..the kind that say "I know nothing ,go nowhere ,just live and maybe die ,why not..."...On days they seem to know better, come closer and we drink a pint together...

  • RIP uncle bill. i miss you... you were the bassist that connected with my drummer dad the most, back in 2004. i bet don white misses you too.

wonder if karstein watches his own vids. HEY MAN. WHERE'S THE TILTIN'HILTON? <3

  • The best version ever!

  • horrible

  • What makes this song truly mine: it starts from the ground ,builds up ,but always comes back to the earth. A genious is often a simple man ...with good friends in all ranks!

    NICE -SLOW -HAND- CLAPTON

Never anything special, not even at The Last Waltz,

But then again, I listen to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn,

    So......You Know......Nuff said

  • @alaxyoung1 you obviously never heard of live cream.

  • @alaxyoung1 Hey its all good though cause he plays better than you do....i mean obviously ANY IDIOT CAN you said so yourself

  • @alaxyoung1 Hey its all good though cause he plays better than you do....i mean obviously ANY IDIOT CAN you said so yourself and by the way its intended to be a southern rock song written by J.J. Cale for Lynyrd Skynyrd

  • CLAPTON SHOWS JUST HOW ANY IDIOT CAN PLAY THE BLUES

  • HAVE THEY MADE AN ALBUM TOGETHER?

  • @102oxley They have. It's called 'the road to escondido' it contains all songs by JJ cale except 3, but the magic of these two men together is unbelievable. You won't regretting getting this album.

  • @102oxley Road to Escondido.

  • never tire of these two...of cause this song also brings back those wonderful warm feelings...one of our favourites for way out sex. ummmmmm...bit long in the tooth now but still good......

  • Y para amenizar este excelente fin de semana, que les parece algo de buen Rock and Blues a cargo de los maestros Clapton y Cale, ajuaaa!!!

  • time fades away

but JJ Cale stays in my heart and my brain.

    Since 40 years.

  • the title should be JJCALE/EricClapton

  • @electric90 well said mate, WELL SAID!

  • Always one of my favourites!

  • Whoa!

  • The real question in this video, which BTW I've watched dozens of times over more than 2 years, is who did what when. There are 3 guitars at work and on occasional it's not clear ... who's making what sound. U can see Mr. Mayer over there on the left and the security people ... confused. It's wonderful music, though, and a late coming out party for J. J. Cale (2004) who has made believers out of many of us.

... Wouldn't it be fun too see J Cale and M Knopfler on stage at the same time!

  • what a track

  • Why does this song even end?

  • I notice Guitar Center is one of their sponsors; are they having some kind of an on-stage clearance sale there at 2:10 ?

  • Cale on Mestari.

  • Magic magic! Clapton lives in the next village from me.

  • no offense to eric and jj. but ronnie and the skynyrd boys kicked everybodys ass on stage and off.

  • Where are they playing?

  • perfect tempo - relaxin' - fine tele playin' - don't get no better than this.

  • tune

  • You should hear ronnie van zant do this classic,

Sorry, eric and JJ you have been upstaged

    Skynyrd kills that version

  • @flooringalabama no way dude. Sorry. Nothin against Skynyrd but this is JJ Cale's song. No one else's.

  • @shittyfagg I love Skynyrd, but I agree with you

  • @flooringalabama ya I do admit I like skynyrds version too, but we all know who wrote this song and other clapton songs.JJ Cale .

  • @flooringalabama - while Skynrd may have made this song popular, as did Clapton for Cocaine and After Midnight, they are ALL original compositions by J.J. Cale ... you can verify this at BMI or ASCAP

  • @2ninerniner2 I could even make a scan photo of my album booklet

  • Grande JJCALE Big Big JJ Cale

  • This is the best rendition of the song I've heard! Only Mr. Cale can get away with changing the lyrics to his own song!
