    TX for sharing

    peace out from BCN

  • Sounds like "Cant You See" yeah cant you see, what that women's been doing to me. LOL I use that exact same chord progression for this song even the A7. Good video.

  • Marty, Do you have a jam track for this chord progression and tempo/rhythm?

  • Hey Marty. I really love thouse lill tricks like using the pinky in a standart chord to prduce a nice neu sound. That makes the sound much more interesting without complicated fingerpicking techniques. I try to soak every single one of that tuts up like a sponge.

The sound u create by this alternatings gives one a feeling like one is better thah he really is ;-D

Thanks a lot for ur efforts bro!

  • keef

  • Awesome stuff, dood!

Ya gotta do a lesson on Sympathy for the Devil blues'd out!

  • your pinky is HUGE

  • I'm confused... Why does this progression work so well? I mean we got E, D, A + B7. When I see B7 resolve back E Major, and also include A major I'm thinking "oh this is in the key of E Major. So the E Major or E Major pentatonic scales would be a good fit." Then we have D Major which would be a bVII.. but bVII's - esp- Major bVII's are more common to a minor key. Does this has something to do with parallel chords/keys?

  • this is an example of "because it's rock and roll." really our ears accept the minor pent and blues scale over that because that's rock and roll. really the E major pent would be theoretically more correct

  • @youcanlearnguitar You are an awesome teacher, thank you!

  • @DEFkon001 Actually, it is in the key of E. The D major chord functions as a flat vii chord which propels the blues rock groove.

  • LMAO he took it to the land of A7! i remember that vid hahahah

  • @Daniel51085 Now THAT was a good lesson!

  • This are the lessons that have lots to learn. love them thanks

  • marty can you sub the open chords for bar chords?

  • absolutely, even better, one guitarist does one way the other guitarist does it the other way etc.

  • Marty check this out. I watch you so much on here that my five year old son saw you playing with Bruno and he said " Who is that with Marty". Now thats funny!

  • marty, can you use the same strumming pattern but replace the open chords with bar chords. thanks

  • hey marty . may u please do a lesson on like how to practice with a loop pedal like little advice.i got the boss rc-2 and its awsome and i just 1 4 5 all te time and practice mixolydian. but i wana no othere things maybe i can practice.

  • you borrowed the D major chord from the mixolydian mode correct?

  • E and D chords fit into E mixolydian which comes from the A major scale. this one though sounds best with the blues scale and minor pentatonic and blues scale but experiment with all the possibilities!!!1

    marty

  • Can you sneak in a little major pent on that 5 chord? Or is that a no-no?

  • that would work great, always go with what sounds good to your ear.
