Thank you so much for your very kind comments Tim. I will be out for my first filming of 2012 tomorrow (last run of 6024 to Paddington), so should have it uploaded by Monday. Thanks also for your subsciption. Alan
Finding this very late - what a super set of clips, and a great progression from country to city. I enjoyed them all - the long shots set the scene beautifully, then Hemerdon was magnificent! The departure from Exeter contrasted beautifully with the subdued light and the King being characteristically sure-footed :-) That's definitely going on my favourites, and a subscription coming your way. Much appreciated. Tim
A brilliant video Alan, covering fully what turned out to be a fantastic trip that ran to time all day. Every shot's a winner but hat's off to you also for making it from Hemerdon to Exminster in time. Something I managed a few years back following the Duke and I know it's not easy. Thanks for posting.
Hi Martyn and thank you for the very kind comments. A lot of what we do needs a bit of luck, if I hadn't got away so quickly from Hemerdon and the traffic been heavier, the Exminster shot would have been out of the question. Another good thing about that bridge is that you can park very close by or even on it as it is little used. Alan
Really good video. Love the way you pan and also pull back at the end of some of your shots to put steam in the context of the landscape. Really like your work in general. TU :-)
incredible, you got some good spots there, hopefully when i am able to get to those places by car, i lack a license at the moment, i will get some good shots to! But i will promise not to get in your way :P thanks for the upload!
Hi Andrei and thanks for the provoking thought, maybe for this pairing they should have re-numbered KE1 as 6010 for the true irony!! Best regards, Alan
Really nice work made there and a brilliant run it was thank goodness nothing happened. Having the King and Brit really sounded epic when challenging the Devon banks as can be seen here. I was going to film in the car park at St Davids but then decided to go further up line as I was cautious that anything could get in the way which did happen with that late running HST entering the scene at the end.
Hi Ryan: nice to hear from you again. What a great combination that was, only wish that the load had been heavier!! We first went to view from the Exeter city road, but a Network SE unit decided to park right in our way, so we opted for the safer option of the station. Alan & Margaret

There's a bit of irony about the idea of Oliver Cromwell in harness with a King, isn't there...
