  • I don't think this would work in canada or any other region with coloured money..... why is the US so opposed to coloured money, which is difficult to counterfeit and easy to count?

  • What a stupid woman. Count the money he gives you BEFORE you even take anything out of the register.

  • Comment removed

  • I do this often without even wanting it. I once could've gained 40 euros but I don't like stealing and people can lose their jobs over that kind of stuff.

Who gives a shit about money gained this way. I like money I gain by doing useful stuff.

  • Has happened to me at job before.

  • this seems fake since the cashier was the one who suggested that she give him a $20. hmm

  • @surfer9901 She thought that she had $20 in front of her while forgetting he already had a ten. So she gave him a twenty that she thought belonged to him.

  • I tried this trick on my friends today and I was explaining it to them while I did it, They still fell for it :)

  • Holy shit...that was good. I'm gonna do that now!

  • You should really start yelling at people when they want their money changed but keep talking.

  • Some fag pulled this on me and I lost $90. Im lucky I still have my jab as a cashier

  • I'm totally gonna try this shit

  • Paper Moon classic

  • are you sure?

  • Ugh. I've caught people pulling that one on me before. Little tip, if the cashier can work out the change in his head for the customer before you, don't even try. Of course I'm not saying that I know for a fact no one's succeeded, but I don't care much because my job fucking sucks.

  • People actually fell for that?

  • How thick American cunts get fleeced!

  • moron, first problem was handing him a 10 before receiving anything herself

  • How rich men get rich.

  • Somebody actually tried this on me about four years ago. It didn't work on me. I'm so proud of myself now!

  • People actually try this at places

  • I get it.s

  • For last ten seconds I was like "Holy shit is he not going to give the ten back?"Then my conscience was relieved :D

  • This happened to me once.. Except I accidentally gave away 100 dollars... It was my first day.

  • the hard part is the very first step, getting the 10 without her having the ones in her hand.

  • I BARELY saw that and I was LOOKING FOR IT. He's good.

  • The trick that only works on people stupid enough to give away the change before making sure they're getting equal amount back.

A gypsy woman once did better trick on my. She asked to change her money for one bigger, but never showed how much she got (which is why I knew I'll end up donating). She took my money and gave back about 1/4 of it. Michael close is simply doing it the hard way

  • A girl tried this at Walmart in my town and was arrested.

  • This happened to my dad once

  • Comment removed

  • Only works if they give you the $10 first, which no one except that stupid asian lady would do.

  • Unfortunately there are no £1 notes in the UK to try this :(

  • @JAMamation could try with coins?

  • @TheSentientSpaghetti

no, that'd be too hard, each coin with a different currency looks completely different.

  • 1:17 "no grandmas" wtf.

  • I had to watch it twice I even tried writing it all down.

Then I realised that she had already given him a 10. I was like oooooh.

Sadly you can't do that in Canada.

  • @IAmMunster Haha silly canadians.

  • i knew people would bullshit about this happening to them as soon as i saw it

  • Well trained cashier?

    That's an oxymoron.

  • @MagnificientSternin lol no kidding

  • @MagnificientSternin That's not exactly true, many cashiers are quite well trained. But, places that offer training generally treat cashiers so poorly that they don't care enough to do things right.

  • @MagnificientSternin well done, you're hilarious

  • @MagnificientSternin i don't think that's fair. a lot of people are just naturally trusting and cashiers are trained to be helpful so i don't think she expected to have to keep track of what, on the surface, seems like a very simple transaction.

  • i live in england and about 6 months ago i was in mc donalds and bought a meal for 4.99 and paid with a 5 pound note and she gave me £1 and a penny back

  • I saw this trick played on my colleague in McDonalds in summer 2000, She lost 1000CZK (60$). I was lucky they didn't try it on me. We fully understand the trick after the cheats left the shop. It is simple and it works.

Interesting variation is they had bought some food and payed for it with 2000CZK banknote before to be sure that the large banknote is in the cache register.

  • @jtau8042 If you knew what was happening, why didn't you say something?

  • I just go $1000 but I lost $3000

  • Some guy did this to my friend earlier today at Wal-Mart.

    See was short $160.

  • Damn, that was slick. I didn't see it even though I knew there was a ripoff coming.

  • The only reason that this worked was because she gave him the money before getting his. Also helps that she is at an awkward angle.

  • I tried this just for shits and giggles (returned the money afterwards) on 10 shops. It worked for 8 of them. Facepalming followed closely.

  • The secret is to con an Asian.

  • Why would the lady first give him the 10 dollars. Any human being that uses his common sense would first count the dollars that's given to you right? I say this was an easy target.

  • And if you can pull this off 8x per day 5 days per week you'll have scammed yourself just over minimum wage.

  • @Ormaaj Pulling this of only 8 times a day is really sloppy... You could probably do 8 per hour...

  • wow i worked at target in high school and just now realized someone actually did this same trick on me, and i fell for it. argh

  • Isn't that kinda illegal??!

  • so hes basically robbing her by hiding away some of the money she gave him for change and then claiming she never gave it to him, isn't that a bit like playing on the good will of good people... kinda taking advantage over this kind lady who he also robbed? and then he walks away feeling so intellectual and good about himself. WOW what a NICE GUY! good thing he is white...

  • @BojaDrawing

Its set up for fuck sake!

  • @swedoj2 yes perhaps but that wouldn't matter, its the way they praise it like it was the smartest and most thought through plan in the world when its really just Preying upon peoples good nature.

  • @BojaDrawing

You know how the rest of the world calls that?

    American.

  • @BojaDrawing Wow, what does his being white have to do with anything? Nigger.

  • @johmedis im not i just know that if he was black more ppl would feel like i do about this

  • @BojaDrawing he doesn't claim she never gave it to him, she just forgets. He does this to illustrate how easy it is to con people by playing with numbers. He gives the money back in the end at 2:30. they never say anything about it being the smartest and most thought through plan, you are just really biased and making shit up.

  • lol or if theyre smart they count the last bill which was a 10 as a one and say thanks and run off with more $

  • we had people trying that in the old store I used to work in, always found the way around this is to of course give them their change. And then change their note after the original transaction is done. When I clued them into some of the common money cons used the company found an extra £35 a saturday in the till : )

  • i hate how innocent people get conned. but then again u gotta be smart always in this world.

  • The best part is if they call you on it it seems like you made an honest mistake.

  • dont get it

  • i sore this scam in paper moon

  • Instant replay? Really? How can you miss it the first time?

  • Yea this really works trust me ;)

  • AWESOME

  • lol I cant do this because i love in Australia and our ones are coins and the money is all differenent colours...

  • @dudesta69 Same in Canada. I don't know why America refuses to update their money. It all looks the same and it hasn't changed in ages to its easy to counterfeit.

  • They are constantly changing, except for the $1's and coins.

  • @ArcaneInquisitor Uhhh..America updates their money all the time. The $5, $10, $20 and $50 dollar bills have each been updated 3 times since 1990 and at least once each have been updated in the past 5 years.

The $100 dollar bill has only been updated twice since 1990 but the are introducing a new updated $100 bill in February of 2011.

    Sooooo....Yeah.

  • @SafetySam Guess I'm wrong, but it still all looks the same.

  • so basically this doesnt work unless you find someone who cant count.

  • The trick to not fall for this is to not give the money until after you stopped counting. I thought it would be harder to fool a person who makes a living out of it

  • Im a cashier and I swear some fucker tried to pull this on me with hundred dollar bills. I caught it though.

  • This doesnt work in Canada where there are no dollar bills and money is coloured :P

  • I'm going to go try this now....

  • This is a tut on how to be a dick!

  • Wow, I totally didn't get it till they showed it the second time.

  • im going to VT. dont like that he called it "a virginia tech"

  • I think im greedy enough not to fall for this

  • wheree can i find this whole show?

  • @WWTBFCD look for penn and teller: bullshit

  • LOL Penn You are so right. Big companies have begun to give training in this scam. Thanks for you and your associate for bringing it forward. Teaches a lesson.

  • Happened to me yesterday at work. Assholes. I'll probably be hearing about this one today.

  • you ppl are all re tard ed! watch the video! not talk about what country bs.

  • short change ftw

  • I in the uk nd it worked

  • @Lewis9547

Ok... so what value notes did you use?

  • shame this won't work in the uk...

  • WARNING DOES NOT WORK UNLESS YOU ARE AMERICAN

  • @crossforced You're right. Non-Americans are just too stupid to pull this trick off with any consistency.

  • @magicalhats15 you are right, us non Americans are too stupid to be able to count to ten, even though we are the ones leading the world technologically.

  • @crossforced Well actually Japan is leading the world Technologically. They have invented a variety of things including working robots and cars that run on bottled water.

What world changing thing has American made in the last 10 years? The Ipad? Isn't that made in Korea?...

Also, inventions come from the mind of men not from the nationality of a country. You invented nothing, regardless of your country. So you can't claim you are smart because your neighbour invented something.

    -Peace

  • @Hailthorn Yes, Japan and NOT America. the Ipad?hardly an invention.Your right inventions come from Men, but where do these men come from?America?with less than 68% graduating from HS within the first 4 years..highly unlikely. I cant be smart because i havent invented anything? what a childish way of thinking, what have you invented? I commend you for being a patriot but you should be more realistic. look at the state of american economy and then tell me if im wrong. welcome to reality friend.

  • @crossforced Whoa! I'm no patriot. I love my rights and freedoms (as a human being) but citizens are idiots. Who cares about HS? Police require HS and look at them... Morons of the law, yet they protect it without ever having knowledge of it. Rather silly.

I'm getting sick of Economy worship. Who gives a shit. The whole system was designed to fuck you over, and now you want to bitch about it? Give it up.

I never said you can't be smart, I said you can't claim the genius of another.

    -Peace

  • @Hailthorn umm...right....u have some really strong opinions m8....unfortunately i cant say i agree with all of them...i think HS is important (not all the courses...just some of them), i mean if it weren't for HS AP Physics i woulda bin screwed at uni!!! like most people...i c where ur coming from but you seem a little misguided m8. and plz dont disrespect police officers...yea not all of them are bright but there are some that put their life on the line every day.

  • @crossforced Misguided.. Why? Because I don't believe in public indoctrination? Because I believe in free thought, not being told what you "need" to "learn" and spewing answers onto a test paper?

Yes you need HS for University if you want to advance your indoctrination.

Personally, I prefer to question sources, seek truths, and ask questions. You seem happy to take answers and falsely believe you are "objective".

Silly, you can't judge a book by it's cover. I'm wiser than you think.

    -Peace

  • @Hailthorn Good for you m8, I didn't know you cared so much about that some random guy thought about you over the Internet, I suggest getting a hobby. Hey if that's your way of life. Great! Go or it. Just don't try to impose it on others. I'm second year uni, the way it going ile probably be doing an inturnship at google or Microsoft and if "falsely believing" is what's going to get me there then count me in m8! " don't judge a book by it's cover" same to you m8.

  • @crossforced Insofar as, the category "non-Americans" encompasses... everyone else. Yes.

  • man i had to watch this like three times before i got it, awesome con

  • wow i tryed and worked on ma friend frome wal-mart i dident give back i tried it a alot till finaly told him lol he was mad

  • i'm confused.

  • @Deathstrike321 no, it's penn or teller, cause it's their show

  • I'm a Cashier at a store so this shit is good to keep up on, lol.

  • "So here's your 10 dollars back"

    "Are you sure?"

    haha, oh,

    Good stuff.

  • A guy did this to me once. He's dead now.

  • An old guy tried this trick on me while i was working. He kept asking for different changes of a hundred dollar bill. I noticed what he was doing and called a manager. The manager told him he would cash me out and check to see if i was over before the guy would recieved another hundred dollars. The guy left and said he would come back for his money. So my manager cashed me out and i was even. CASHIER WIN!!!!

  • When I was 12 years old, I was helping my father who sold our baked goods at farmers markets in New York City. My dad had to go to the bathroom so he left me to run the stand for a bit. A guy bought a muffin and then started this whole routine. I was just about to be screwed out of 10 bucks when the milk farmers next to us realized what was going on.

Despite this being an interesting trick, I'd still like to smash that guy's face in 9 year later

  • the speaker is lee sneider

    rock star

  • @Deathstrike321 you mean dee schneider, and no it's penn jillette dumbass

  • You can make like 50 dollars an hour doing this. But you need to move alot

  • lol, the woman's like are u sure?!? ROFL

  • This doesn't work, and I will tell you why, no one wants to make change for a bunch of losers or some stupid kid that hasn't the sense to know when to shut up. If you try this do not be surprised if you only come out 1 dollar ahead if at all from the initial change. That woman was way too nice, almost like it was staged. the ppl on here that said it works, well 2/3rds are liars.

  • this only works on fat samoan cashiers

  • When I worked at a gas station, a guy did this to me. I knew that he had gotten away with something, so I decided to write down his license plate number. When i counted my drawer at night, I was down some, so I called the cops. They took down a bunch of information, but they didn't do a thing about it. One year later, another guy tried the same thing. This time, I counted everything before I opened the drawer. He was so mad b/c he knew I wouldn't fall for it.

  • she is stupid

  • Comment removed

  • A well-trained cashier never takes anything out of the drawer until they establish how much the customer gave them.

  • Comment removed

  • but its nice that you defend cashiers i find cashiers great too

  • @CalifaJohn dude anyone could fall for this

  • @CalifaJohn Well-trained being the key. Have you ever been to Las Vegas?

  • @CalifaJohn What percentage of cashiers would you say are "well-trained"? I bet a lot of them are either bored teens who care very little, uneducated immigrants who may not speak English very well, or small business owners who don't have the benefit of anyone higher up to actually train them.

  • @Theonewhoclimbs28 I don't know what the percentage of well-trained cashiers might be in general, but bank tellers are usually a good example of being well-trained. I see the examples you bring up and it is a reflection of lack of education or caring. I learned how to run a cash register when I was 10 years old so the bored teen is just a lazy teen who hasn't learned the value of things. Most immigrants know how to handle money even if they don't speak English.

  • @CalifaJohn I wouldn't expect anyone to actually know percentages, given the vagueness of the inquiry (it was more rhetorical than anything). I'm just saying there are plenty of sloppy cashiers out there, and this con couldn't exist without them.

  • @Theonewhoclimbs28 Very true.

  • @CalifaJohn agreed . i worked with my dad in a shop we used to run and it was drummed into me you never put the money properly into the till until the customer had got his or her change ,

  • well dog my cats

  • So that's how you short-change someone.

  • Um...Hes in elementary school or middle school is my guess?

  • smart

  • that shit really works i did it to my lunch teacher like a week ago ;D

  • u have a lunch teacher?

  • @izzy1u You have a lunch teacher? What does a lunch teacher do? Teach you to eat lunch or make lunch?

  • Comment removed

  • @rypat34 do you realy think he stole the money...he gave it back...as they do with every magic trick...and if its not magic then its stealing which is illegal .

  • i bet you're one of those juggalos, always hanging around downtown across the street from the bus station and doing nothing with their lives. but i understand, you juggalos have the IQs of dog shit. i forgive you and your filthy lifestyle.

  • ...so because you obviously lack common understanding and you are pre-judging me because i answered your question i am a juggalo...thx for noticng how ironic your comment was...

  • should this sort of thing be shown on here? i guess its good to be aware of it at least!

  • thats a great trick

  • perfect

  • I'm going to do that

  • Magic is illusions. He made an illusion through this trick.

  • Beautty

  • Never exchange someone money

Until the money is received and accounted

Try that at a Bank..that's rule one..let's see the money first

  • damn tats preety slik

  • Yeah that's a not very fair, but original way of living!

  • LOL

  • lol

  • where were you? he did return that money.

  • Dang, you could make a living!

  • sucks, we dont have dollar bills here in australia.. and the bills are colour coded for different ammounts

  • this trick can be done anywhere. it's even easier if you are a group and not local.

  • Definitely doesn't work here, Australian bills are all different colours

  • And plastic, which lasts longer and is cleaner than cotton paper.

  • It does work trust me. Just go to any Woolworths/Coles with a 16 year old person on registers. usually done with 10's and 100's though

  • Ahh true, child labour, lol

  • oh for fucks sake in Europe 1 Euro is a coin so i cant do this trick :(

  • yeah, i hear you, you should do this with 5 euro bills, but you need enough of them to f¨¨k their concentration,

so you need to act like you want to get a 50 euro bill, which is to much, as they won't give you that much te second time and a 5 euro bill is totally different looking than a 50 euro bill

Maybe its easier to do this with coins? 4x 50 cent coins for 2 euro coin, although they looking to different

  • :O Isn't there 1 euro bills? I thought that. I live in sweden, we also have coins for 1,5,10, then it starts at 20 with bills.

  • You don't use the euro in Sweden? That's odd, 'cause it's there on the coin.

  • Nope. We are on the coin because we are in the EU, if you look closer you will find Great Britain, and they still use the Great Britain Pound.

We swedes voted no for the Euro some years ago, and we haven't had another vote again, so we're staying with the Swedish Krona :)

  • I see, thank you.

I miss our guilders; they were among the prettiest in the world and easier to use thanks to different coin sizes (and colors) and ATMs that didn't only give 50 euro bills by default.

  • this sucks wheres the full video

  • where is the full video of this? :D

  • fuck you
