It is great to see some of my generation picks music like this over the garbage put out today. There aren't way too many that do listen to true music anymore. It is most certainly a crying shame.
I am 22 have his (dion) entire discography on Vinyl dating back to 59! Really great stuff one of the most underated artist of that time, just hate his drug habit tore apart his music!
to all the people with bad comment at music from those years: if they didn't make that kind of music, you never had the music that we have now. and age? so what ! music has never heard of that word.
Great catchy bragging tune that gets painful if you've been there. Classic story telling Buddy Lucas tenor sax solo most people can whistle! Also I'm glad you're 18 and a dig all that music. That's what we need on this earth, youth with open ears. I'm in my 20's and people are surprised how open I am to old music. Real good music is timeless
To rubyrola1959 : i'm 17 and i grew up with this music, because of my dad, and i really like it so, just ignore the guys who are saying " your 18 (according to your channel) and you're listening to music thatis about 50 years old "
I love the oldies hehe, and this is better music then now!
Really glad to hear of it, at least there are a few of us young ones out here now, who still appreciate this music. Tahnks for your comment though! :)
I'm pretty sure you meant that as an insult, but what's your point? Yes I'm really 18, and I listen to more than this. My ear is able to take in all sorts of music. Jazz 1910's-early 70's, Blues 20's-80's, Country 20's-(maybe)early 80's, Rock+ most variations 50's-mid 90's, Ragtime, Only Old School Rap Late70's-late90's, Big-Band, and Jump Blues(R&B of late forties). But I know you don't care. I wonder why you even looked stuff like this up, if you don't like it, don't comment on it. Good Day.
Yea, I just didn't know about your intent, sorry for my longwinded comeback, but I understand where your coming from, in terms of retaliating against old-fashoned racism, but yes it was kind of shallow, but don't remove your comments, so others understand too. Thanks for clarifying, and good day young man or woman. (I didn't check your profile so I don't know.)
@rubyrola1959 Don't worry about dude, i applaud you , i too at your age loved all music and still do,hell im 50 and i have an al jolson collection. mastermo666?? Are u for real? wake up,music regardless of time is for all to enjoy
@unklbuk1 thanks, and i'm not worried about it, but it's strange how you mentioned Al Jolson, as he's one of my personal favorites. i discovered him at 12 thanks to my Great Uncle who saw him in Korea, and collected his records. it was that discovery that fueled my love of older music, thanks for commenting though.
@rubyrola1959 Yeah man, Al Jolson was something, i have all his recordings check out "The Jolson Story" staring Larry Parks. Personally , one of my favorites, you'll dig the soundtrack.
Of course, all the photos are of Dion with The Belmonts. I don't know if there are even any photos of Dion with The Del Satins. They were not credited on the recordings, but added greatly to the overall sound of this great music.
the best music ever is from the 50 and 60's...nothing beats it and never will

Beats the hell out of just about any pop music being churned out by those losers today. Lady Ga Ga could take a lesson from Dion.
