the guitarist broke a string halfway in the concert and wasn't able to get it fixed. Marshall was sick as hell, and had to of stage all the time to throw up or something. She also started most of the songs backstage :P. Overall it was a concert to remember and I still love cat power :) I especially liked that she spent so much time on the stage after the concert to thank the audience for being a good audience even if the concert wasn't to good
My conclusion of the consert. The lighttechs were probably on break or something, because there were'nt ANY movment on the lights. (exept the 3 second long flash of green light during the concert). The soundtechs must of been drunk or high, because the whole band were pointing in all directions to try to get the sound right, but nothing happened. The drummer had to be drunk because he was playing wrong all the time and doing his own concert at times. Keyboards were cool.
The set list could absolutely have been much better.. there was not enough songs from The Greatest. But still... if C. Marhsall had a did a top performance the set list could go to hell.. then she could have sung ABBA or Alphabeat or some other crappy shit and it still would have been the bomb. I think the problem was lack of "good feeling" before the concert.. or.. arh !?
Some thing was wrong under this concert. I love Cat power more than everything and dropped Cohen in Aarhus for this concert. But it sure did not go as well as I have expected.
i think you're a little naive if you can't see that she was on something.. i really have to say that i don't give a shit how much she took or smoked before the concert, but i you just can't blame the soundguys for her feeling 'like throwing up, or falling over', as she said it at the concert! but i am just so amazed that she could be so connected to her audience, and still probably very far from reality.. basic line: i fell in love!!
I would have thought the same thing if it was any other act, only she is known for having incredible performance anxiety. Regardless, she still sounded good where I was.
i felt so sorry for her. the sound was bad, and i really don't understand why it didn't get fixed! she looked uncomfortable, i just wished she would have played an instrument, or something, so she could feel more secure. i can't help it but feel that it really wasn't her fault. i think she's a great artist, and her voice is truly amazing. too bad that the concert wasn't just as brilliant. but well, that's life.
Because of this concert, I fucking hate Cat Power. But I hate myself more, for not just leaving halfway through.

Yeah, I was afraid that she wasn't going to make it through. And the sound wasn't too good.
