The night before my daddy, Elder Columbus Montgomery died, he wanted me to sing this song to him. I did that and he left this plane of existence rejoicing and speaking in unknown tongues, after having a stroke...
Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and either the Southwest Michigan State Choir or the Community Choir recorded a version of this with Dr. Clark some years ago. She also recorded a version with the GMWA Choir.
@whatuwatchingjoe It was with the Clesiatic Choir which was actually the Bailey Chapel COGIC Choir around 1971 or 1972. She recorded it with GMWA around 1970 or 1971. It was Dr. Clark's only recorded appearance with GMWA. There's a school of thought that she clashed with James Cleveland on format and material. James seemed to prefer the more "cooperative" O'Neal Twins, who were there every year, to her; at least thats what the "legend" implies.

My daughter use to sing this when she was a toddler...it was so precious! Now the child is 37! That's how long it's been. But God still abides in me!

Yeah, we used to sing it in the Michigan choirs. Jimmy Dowell Singers also performed this song and Marsha Hoffman beat the tar out of the tambourine.
