Fusion is nice and all that. But despite the claims I've heard from ITER reps, it still looks pretty pie-in-the-sky to me. Thorium-cycle fission is a *much* more attainable technology, with most of the benefits over current uranium fission plants that fusion has been promising for... how many decades now?
But no one seems to care about thorium, except maybe India. Personally, I think LFTR looks particularly appealing.
@electronqi That's how green-oriented people then will be. Why waste trees and metal for chairs when it is good to stand? After all, standing, as they say, is good for you.
give these guys a break. They are just trying to explain something complicated to morons like you. It's time to get stoked about fusion, that's all they're saying.
Then I'm obviously not referring to you. I'm talking about lay people without PhD's who might want to know something about fusion. And how could someone with a PhD be so culturally insensitive as to say "the accents make me sick."? These are non-native speakers, and their level of English is amazing, considering that fact. There are very specific socio-political reasons for videos like this. I hope more lay people watch it and start to promote fusion on their own.
@Sarkiro No need to generalize all Americans as idiots. I think statistically speaking, half of us are above average. It just happens that the most vocal Americans are usually idiots.
@asdfuogh That shows how stupid you are. lol... "half of us are above average"... Think of your sentence. THINK, THINK. Where is mistake and why is it so funny?
even if you mean "average of the world". Who do you want to compare? Africans with no access to education? eastern worlds?
Americans are the most stupid people with access to education systems. Thats fact. :)
@Sarkiro Uh, maybe you need to re-read the sentence. The average is a number that is determined by whatever results we're looking at (in this context, it's intelligence, of course). That said, a good distribution (which I assumed the U.S. would have based on the number of people living in it) would be a bell curve where the mean, median, and mode are relatively close enough to approximate as the same. So yes, half of us are above average. Then, half of us are below average.
@Sarkiro The average IQ is defined to be 100. I'm sorry if you don't seem to understand that nerd joke at all.. While I do understand that there are stupid people who can't understand that Americans come in all sorts of brain sizes, I'm not so small minded as to pursue this any further.
@Sarkiro You can learn this information from a basic psychology class or textbook under the general section concerning intelligence. IQ tests aren't perfect and often can be culturally bias (among other things) so they are periodically rescaled such that the average is 100. This rescaling is also done to account for things like the Flynn effect and other things that would make the intelligence test show results it is not intended for (ie. measuring intelligence instead of knowledge).
@Sarkiro So, (careful now, this is where YOU need to use your brain) half of us above average + half of us below average and then divided by all of us would return average.
this is mathematic average. Average in this case is the most people in a specific area. For example most americans are equaly intelligent as my 2 chihauhaus. Thats the average not add all and devide by numbers. :)
@Sarkiro However, I do partially agree with you. We have a lot of people with access to the education systems. Many of them are stupid. I don't know if our stupid people in the education systems outnumber the stupid people in education systems outside the U.S. Unfortunately, this is all based on my qualitative definition of stupid people. For example, stupidity is pre-judging an entire nation based on the actions of a small minority of that nation. Oh wait, sorry, nevermind. That's bigotry.
@URProductions New technology... your windows can be screens. So look at every window in your house, and think of it as a possible screen for your computer.. for your television.. for some kind of communication thing. Or, instead of blinds, program the windows to darken and become opaque. Or, change your view to some pretty image to match the wall papers... etc.
@URProductions So the teacher can see what his/her students are looking at. Well, that would be eventually a mirrored reflection of student's monitor but pictures would still look normal.
@URProductions So is desktop transparency. But that hasn't kept people from flocking to it. The parallel with "The Emperor's New Clothes" is just too easy. ;-)
all the elements we know are produced by stars and the common nominator in the universe is Iron;all elements tend to either degrade(heavier elements degrade to the equilibrium state of iron) or fuse(lighter elements bind to form more complex elements, also towards the state offered by iron).
So instead of wasting billions for wind turbines and solar panels we should spend them on fusion reactor development. Tell that to greenpeace... and you'll be crucified. Sorry I forgot about CO2 underground storages... make it trillions :-P

average IQ in germany is 110.72 in america its only 98. 12 IQ-Points make a huge difference. :)

And why would you want a see-through computer? That'd be distracting.

i don't think so. i think once it's used it's gone.

Where can I find the next part when they speak of the teleportation?
P.S. Teleportatio of a body is when it jumps from our 3+1 dimension into higher, travels a bit, and then comes back to the desired point, right?
