  • man

would really liked to have gone thru the pass

now days would probably get roasted like a goat...

    take care guys

    peace out

  • im not into racism, i believe in one Islam and one Muslim umah, there is no afghan, no pakistan, no arab, no pushton no tajik but one Muslim umah, yes it is truth that we got some virus among us, there for we are divided and apart from each other and one muslim let kill another muslim, i really feel sad in which situations we live and we are on knees to western pigs and jewsh. may Allah give us unity and luv to tolerate each other and stand together. aameen.

  • @thencounter79 bullshit that is not religion, why you think God cares about words, about clothes, all men are brothers is only true religion, regardless of wht badge you wear.

you don't know me, you call me a pig, because you are stupid.

  • Those were the good old days!

  • nice video.

  • the khyber pass: the link of afghanistan to a far more glorious land.

  • long live LOY afghanistan.

  • i remember doing this trip with my dad when i was 12 yrs old except we werent in a car but a train and there was like heaapppsssssss of taliban on the train with aak's and bazookas it was cool but that was like year2000 now no more tourist are aloud there shame that is truly!

  • Nice .I did the same trip in 1986.. Nothing has changed.

  • That is not surprising. Blame that on the Taliban.

Actually, maybe it is a good thing. The raw, wildwest aura about the tribal lands I would hate to see vanish.

I DO want to see Hamid Karzia succeed and Afghanistan become strong and independent though. I do not know if the two can coexist.

  • Pakistan and Afghanistan will stay as blood brothers in the history of mankind Inshaallah. Dosen't matter how much the occupiers try to separate them. An Indian Musalman.

  • long live pashto

  • pakistan is such a shit hole.

  • i know seriusly. we hindus, sihks, buddhist had that land and we treated i with respect and had many battles. know this great land is distroyed by the muslims and not just pakistan but also persia.

  • wow. where are all the little girls... i wonder if they r even allowed out. we left 30+ yrs ago and i didnt realise that afghanistan was sooo dusty - i was just akid. thanx valpard

  • Excilent

  • Amazing!

  • It's all very interesting, but doesn't really matter now, what is important is who we all are now, and where we go from here, I would have thought?

  • Buddy34 and Benthead: Im American, and am ashamed by posters like you both (benthead at least seems informed). This film has nothing to do with the war. This was filmed by a french guy in 1990 while traveling. He is interested in the ethnicities and history. Buddy-the US will never conquer these people-wipe them out would be the only way which is pointles

  • My comments are based on a visit I made there in 1978.

I like Landi Kotal. Rivernite - have you been to Landi Kotal ?

  • I still think that Landi Kotal is a good place to send Mormon missionaries. The Taliban and the Mormons are good bedfellows !

  • If you are in denial of the covert relationship between the Pakistani goverment, U.S. financial support, the defense industry, and american jobs in the sunbelt and the "fear of

islamic terrorists" - you are very, very, naive !

  • Long live the pashtun people. Peace to all heroes of

the land in Asia. Hopefully you will get an own land soon.

  • BAGHDAD: U.S. forces swooped into Sadr City, 8/8/07, killing 32 terrorists & detaining 12 others. The raid targeted terrorists who are known for facilitating transport of weapons & explosively formed penetrators, EFPs, from Iran to Iraq & bringing terrorists from Iraq into Iran for more terrorist training.

  • Only fucking terrorist is George fucking bush and jesus fucking bastard

  • Yes Taliban are angels because they are fighting for independence of their country.

  • These are the same guys whom burn down girl's schools and acid attack women. Sound like cowardly scum to me.

  • In the west it is estimated that 25% of men will abuse the woman they are involved with. What do you say about that? It's easy to point the finger at people in another country, isn't it?

Clean up your own yard before you try to tell others how to manage their yard.

  • I am in no way attacking the general populations of any Islamic country including Afghanistan or Pakistan. I have read accounts of people's travels to these populations being some of the most accommodating people in the world. I sympathize with them, not with radical extremists such as the Taliban. Don't tell me I don't have a voice when sadly domestic abuse is existent in every society on this planet. And perhaps to your surprise, I do respect and condone the proper treatment of women.

  • Appreciate your approach. I would rather encourage you to denounce the foreign illegitimate occupation of muslim lands which provide bases for all kind of evils inside and outside. Also considering you a reasonable person, I would suggest to look more into matters and avoid trusting anything coming from mainstream media without doing thorough research. Peace.

  • My pashtonkhaw....the day will come when will be reunited with our motherland. inshallah!

  • WASHINGTON - The U.S.A. Senate voted Friday, July 13, 2007, to double the bounty on Osama bin Laden to $50 million dollars. By a vote of 87-1, the Senate set the reward for the killing or capture, or information leading to the capture, of the mastermind of the September 11 attacks on the U.S.A. Shortly after the September 11 attacks, President Bush said he wanted bin Laden caught, dead or alive. Bin Laden, is thought to be hiding in a region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

  • Face it. Bin Laden is dead . He is kept alive by the U.S. government so George Bush can continue his war Iraq. Nancy Pelosi plays into his myth because she does not want the democrats to come up with the short end of the stick if there is a terrorist attack between now and the elections. The U.S goverment will never have to pay out the 50 million dollars !

  • Man, you visited to my region but in vein. you could't see the reality. You are studying books that has writen on holding openions not our reloigious. You suposed to study that first then pay a visit,You will find that what is bad and what is good.

  • Man you took me back to my home... thank you!

  • Excellent video which captures the local flavor! Almost felt as though I was there myself! Must have been a great experience!

  • Excellent video, sums up the place perfectly

  • Once again, I dont watch American news, I stated my opinion from the book I was reading. of course the Women are important in families, they are slaves. they do all the work, they don't seem to have much choice.

  • Ha, i like how the kid follows the gaze of the camera. The Boys are beautiful, just a shame they are potentially going to grow up being assholes to their women. I am reading the bookseller of Kabul at the moment, so it is great to see what things look like from the book. Thank you for posting this.

  • asshole to women, every 3min 911 call for domestic violence, rape every 7min in america baby, open your eyes & search beyond cnn,fox & newyork time,u ignorent, arrogant, lowest in IQ as useall american

  • I'm not american, but you are according to your profile, I don't watch and form opinions from the news (especially US 'news') I stated that I was reading a book, which is a story written from an account of a Woman who actually lived in Kabul with a family. That is where I got my opinion from. Maybe you should try reading it. And as for domestic abuse, it is unaccepatable by societys standards in my country. Women are not forced to marry without protest.

  • If you don't like the way they live in Afghanistan, then lock yourself in your closet and kill yourself. Just stop terrorizing the Aghan people and bringing them opium, misery and death, you nazis.

  • certainly the people there are poor, i didnt see anything "wild" about them.

  • In response to your feeling that people here are merely poor,

I think that you need to take a trip to the tribal lands between

Pakistan and Aghanistan for a reality check

  • I must say - Having traveled there overland from Europe in 1976, Landi

Kotal has not changed much. It stiil is the "real"- wild state that it was then. I think this is where young people in America who have a thirst

for "reality" experiences like we see on t.v. need to visit. It is not artificial, - I think my experiences there helped round me into the

person that I am today. I certainly have no regrets.

    Northern California Guy.

  • Real adventure!

  • Did you meet any spies?
