You are completely right, Mr @gewerh44. I recorded some covers too, but I didn't make any money with them. To me it's a tribute to great music, and they should thank as to play them. For sure we are not "the real thing". I'll agree if they want use our covers to get commercial spots, but I can't understand the attitude to close our accounts. Coño!

They get mad when you play it better than the orginal artist. If you got paid everytime one of your videos played that would be different, but you don't. I really don't see what their problem is. It pissed me off when I saw "Since I've Been Loving You" got blocked. Freaking creeps!

YT seems to forget what made them great...I won't name all the cover artists that I subscribe to, but, you can probably guess who most of them are....I come here to listen to Real talent, not the garbage that the music industry wants us to buy...When YT shuts down all you guys, then I'll close my account . I have some copyright violations and blocked videos as well. But I have never been formally told that I have one strike against me. How do you know you have a strike against you?  Did YT contact you?

Yes, they contact you.

You can go to Settings, then Manage Account. And check out your Account Status: Copyright. Thats the place where you can see if you have strikes.

@gewerh44 Mine says, "Your account is in good standing. " But I know I have a few vids that were tagged with copyright violations. I think that if you speed up or slow down the videos just a small bit, they will not get detected when you load them. I have not tried that yet.

well yeah, "Matched third party content" and "strikes" are different things.

You can have a lot of videos with "Matched third party content" problem. And thats no biggie right now unless youtube changes its policies.

Strikes are serious thing. You get 3 of them and youre out of YT
