I EAS THE SAME AGE AS JANET LENNON CALL ME CORNY BUT I LOVED AND ENJOY THE LAWRENCE WELK SHOW BUT WHEN THE LENNON SISTERS LEFT I WAS BROKEN HEARTED. IT SO NICE TO RELIVE MY YOUTH
Actually this episode aired on July 11th 1964. The February 15th 1964 episode was the French show. The ending credits of that episode are also on youtube.
There's nothing sweeter than sitting down in front of a big TV set and watch The Lawrence Welk Show on a saturday night on ABC-TV. In my home Chicago it was seen on WBKB-tv Ch 7 in 1964. 4 years later they changed the station name to WLS-Tv now known as ABC 7.
I've alway thought this closing number was more creative than the later 'Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehen" that came in the 70's. I like the later closing too, but you can't beat this take on "Goodnight Ladies"
Most extraordinary. I had no idea that Lawrence was ever sponsored by a tobacco company, and especially as late as 1964! Wonderful to hear that special Champagne Sound of the early days.
Larry Hooper (with the deep, deep voice) used to say "Dodge had a good time, too!" when the show was sponsored by Dodge.
