I must say, these are some wicked moves he's showing. Some guy here says he's not backing it in? The wheel automaticly wants to go straight back to the original position offcourse. you cant hold a non-power slide into the corner.. if you use a powerslide it could. But who cares, this video is sick :D

Why are they just cornering the slow way , if your at a track , ride your bike like its spose to be ridden , when you have to lean the bike down extremely quickly , you lean into the corner and turn the bars ever so slightly opersite lock , it will drop your bike down alot quicker asif it were "falling over " , but you just re-correct the steering , and boom you're gone , just a tip , try it if you like , if not buy a blimming supermoto! , btw nice bikes :)

One person claims he can't hold the slide to the apex because it is a 'decreasing radius turn.' Wrong. It is a turn, it has a line, it has an apex. Those bikes just can't do it.

Yes, you're obviously much more intelligent than me. That's why you can't figure out that what he's doing and what is "backing in" is essentially the same thing. The only difference being the decreasing radius corner he's going into won't let him carry the slide deep into the breaking zone.

your a moron, I'd like to see you ride you retard.....I've raced for years and I know that isn't the fastest way around a track, maybe it is cool to see, but it's not fast. Skill....FOR SURE!!! That takes skill and I don't even like to slide, mainly because it isn't fast, sure everyone would be trying it if you became faster around the track doing it. Also, the dude is either downshifting wayyy to much or using the rear brake and turing his handle bars. Show some power slides, those are cool

there were power slides on there if you weren't paying attention. Coming out of turn 2 going down the hill...and no he isn't downshifting too much. That's just his style and he uses clutch, brake, engine braking, and rear brake to do this. He used to dirt track. And about it being fast...well for some. Couple years ago he had the track record ;)

That ain't no power slide made... power slides are when you exit corners and open the throttle wide. What you see here is a rider with good control of the back brake. By applying the back brake (without locking the wheel of course) the rear wheel is turning slower than the front wheel and it makes the bike go sideways which can be very practical to set up for a tight corner.

The clutch only "feathers" the engine braking actually, if you select a gear too low for the speed you're doing, the engine will do the braking, and it brakes so hard the wheel locks up, the clutch is there just to let the rider choose how much engine braking he wants on the downshift.

It is obvious that slipper clutches are common nowadays, but it wasn't such an easy thing to have 4 years ago.

And apparently Mitchell's bike doesn't have this device fitted. That's what makes it so hard and that's why only a skilled rider such as the one portrayed in this video can do it
