  • I Really Like The Video Wes Studi as Magua In The Last Of The Mohicans From Your

  • Wes Studi nearly stole the movie! Maybe did, in fact. The scene where he beckons to the (understandably) scared, Munro daughter (who is standing on the edge of a cliff) blew me away. So much expression was condensed in his face, and his gesture! And then he just turns and moves on--his group had been in a hurry, to begin with, before that ... diversion.

  • There would have been no story or movie except for MAGUA! Ferocious Huron War Captain. Wes Studi - Needs a belated oscar! Really makes me wonder about discrimination.

  • Awesome movie!!

  • Wes definitely should've won an Oscar. Incredible performance, absolutely seamless and believable.

  • I can't believe he didn't get nominated for an Oscar for this?

  • "I am not in the military"

  • he does not have to speak a word..he is the story

  • I want to find the sence where magua speaks of his hatred for the grayhair to the french Lt.

  • Wes Studie is the Coolest Villian Ever!!!

  • Lol did u see tht horses butt

  • i wonder if wes studi is of native american heritage

  • @frips1000 he is, hes cherokee.

  • @DrmrGuy1979 Wes Studi is so great that he had the whole background story in his face the first time we saw him.

  • I was rooting for Magua.

  • awesome movie, they dont make them like this any more.

  • We donot disagree.

BTW it still is a great movie.

  • @DrmrGuy1979

    That's what i said.

  • I've seen him in a few movie's and he plays a bad man,but I still find him sexy.Yes I've seen him play "the good guy" too. Very sexy man.

  • I gotta say Wes Studi did his thing in this movie he put out total maximum effort!!!

  • James Fenimore Cooper in his (great!) book portrayed Maqua as a tragic man, torn apart by grief, bitterness and hatred for the whites, because of what they did to his family and people. Although mr. Studi is a very charismatic actor who did a great job, the scriptwriters could have made more of this character than they did in this movie.

  • @TheLiveTech lol!

  • He's a great actor. And what a face, made for the big screen

  • -scots were hired by many countries to fight their wars-scots were known to be ferocious-so fought in canada against the iroquois there-sometime w only promise of plenty good whisky-i saw a mural of scots massacre of native indians in the scots blackguard armory montreal.quebec in memory of their victory over the natives there-thats why this music is in the movie-but be better to have 1/2 native flutes or chant-no iroquois mistreated women prisoner-but magua got twisted by whites

  • Does anyone know where the audio track is from?

  • @derek96720 last of the mohicans soundtrack, i think it's "river walk and discovery" but i'm not sure

  • The book was written during the French & Indian War, which made it that much more inspirational in US & English history.

Wes Studi is Magua... He isn't an actor playing his role but rather being the role no other actor could have accomplished. He is truly incredible. I also loved him in HEAT as Al Pacino's partner... Bad ass!

  • i takes a great actor to play so good that you would actually hates his guts. ladies and gentlemen, wes studi

  • Just met him about 5 min ago here @ The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. A very nice man.

  • @angeldivina28

    Lucky you!

I've heard he's a great guy with a wonderul sense of humour. This is one bloke I would like to go for a pint with.

  • Magua in our language means Bear. I thought Wes did a great job. Fred Jack Manitoumahwhingon, Chippewa Elder

  • really sucks that the mohawks get paid to fight for the dirty white man... >:/ if only the natives destroyed the first settlers when they saw them...

  • la musica y la pelicola para me son de las mejores de tudos los tenpos

  • das ist toll gemacht

  • nice pictures

  • Wes you were awesome in this movie. My vote is for you.

  • should have gotten an Oscar.

  • Magua kill all white ass.

  • wes studi always did a great characters in all his film.. thumb up for this guy. is he a real native american?

  • @TheMimiejolie

He is from the Cherokee Nation.

  • Magua really fucked up those Yengeeze bastards

  • I love my people! I am 100% Proud Ki'che!!

From guatemala! Im proud of being native american!

  • @ProudNativo hey brother im maori and im from new zealand just like to say your culture is truely inspirational and what your culture has been threw my is simular my dream one day is to visit your home lands and have an great experince and learn about your cultures ways

  • Wes Studi the baddest MOFO in the world

  • Has anyone ever read the last on the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper?

  • That look on his face when Alice Munro jumps off the cliff. Incredible, should have gotten an Oscar.

  • you know, in the film i didnt hate Magua, he was doing all that for the good of his tribe, he knew that being with france or england will be the same, (and as a youtube user once wrote: if Magua didnt die and scucceded in his plan America now would be called United States of Magua, i laughed alot) , so you cant be against him because he was with the french, perhaps you wont like him because of the romantic story between D.D. Lewis and the lady there. The performance of the actor was the maximum.

  • Wes Studi rules.

  • Magua understands that the white man is a dog to his women. When they are tired, he puts down his tomahawk to feed their laziness.

  • @anglekan My favorite quote ever and one I repeat often... which is why I'm still single but I'm no dog!

  • @puffrooster lol, good one buddy.

  • I'll never forget looking over at a Cadillac next to me at a stop light & seeing Wes at the wheel..!

  • He was unbelievable in this film. The energies that accumulated through this movie was so awesome.

  • as usual instead of hollywood giving a deserving living actor like wes studi an oscar they will wait until he is deceased then award it as a posthumous award. he should have gotten one for this performance.

  • on 017 magua coming out of shadows to reveal himself as the guide.....menacing!! what a tremendous actor/film/soundtrack watch every time its on telly

  • Fantastic performance by Wes Studi - as always!

  • boojoo, I am a Chippewa. Magua means bear. I would like to meet Wes. He is a fine actor. I watch the movie primarily for the outfits. As far as the movie itself, it is just another anglo-american who is a better indian than the indians. This seems to be a popular theme in the movie business.

  • Wes Studi was awesome. I agree he should have been given serious consideration for an Oscar. What an oversight.

  • didnt he also play like a warlord thing in dances with wolves

  • MAGUA.

  • magua will did the chef voice in the avatar movie

  • Deep respect to magua

  • "Magua was forced to become blood brother to the Mohawk...but always in his heart, he is Huron."

  • Wes Studi did a phenomenal job portraying Magua as a truly menacing and terrifying character.

  • When the Grey Hair is dead, Magua will eat his heart. Before he dies, Magua will put his children under the knife, so the Grey Hair will know his seed is wiped out forever. ~Magua~ 01:45 (Best line ever.....in my opinion!)

  • A great actor. Needs to be in more....

  • the best indian character in fiction.......i'm always on his side

  • I can't imagine anyone else in the role of Magua. Wes Studi owns it. Magua was bad, but he was complicated, we feel his angst, so we like him. No?

  • how did they cut their hair so well in the real mohawk tribe? It looks too clean cut in the movie:-)... I just noticed this.. love the movie!

  • Wes Studi was brilliant! as Magua; those final scenes along with the music score leave one with a loss of words.

  • Wes Studi is an incredible actor. He is also a Vietnam vet. All respect and honor to Mr. Studi!

  • he was like stunning, like the whole movie. it was the first non cartoon movie i´ve seen in my life when i was 5 or 6 XD

btw, whats the first song sil vous plait ? :D

  • what music did you use in this video ?

Wes Studi kick ass in this movie :)

  • He would scare livin' crap out of me if I would see him alive, excellent acting though!

  • Magua = racist

  • Comment removed

  • Wes Studi does a wonderful job playing his ancestors. Great actor!

  • wes studi is the man!...he play the role FANTASTIC!

  • The whole film was grossly overlooked - not only with regards to Wes Studi but in all categories

  • Love Stdi's films-this,Geronimo,Dances w/ Wolves.

  • i like the song at the beginning

  • Wes Studi is one of the finest actors in the world. Great post!

  • Wes Studi as Magua. On a VERY short list of the greatest villains in the history of cinema!!

  • @roanokedude i would not call him a villain. He fought for his people and for what he believed in. Our enemy or not, that makes him a warrior. Not evil.

  • @bodypowr I do not disagree with what you are saying .I did not call him evil in my post i called him the villain in the movie which i believe to be accurate. The very fact that you are argueing on his behalf in a way proves my point. His portrayal of Magua was so well done that even though we are glad the good guys won we are still a bit sad to see magua end the way he did.

  • Very good actor, really deserved an award for such a great performance!

  • wes studi is awsome in "last of.." but i also like him in heat.he plays one of pacino's detectives.

  • @ojicreewarcry Yup and he even was clearly the best 'scout' in the shootout. He knew where everyone was and what was going to happen.

  • genial magua!!! papelon extraordinario!!!

  • Bad Ass

  • As a result of his stunning portrayal of Magua, Wes Studi became a member of my fantasy world!

  • But in the novel Cora was killed my Magua.

  • Q cara la de este actor!!!!!!!!!!!El papel ideal para él.

  • I met Wes Studi a few years ago. He is a true gentleman and one of the nicest person I ever met

  • @b42baritone - always good to hear that, I would like to meet him, interesting man it seems.

  • an amazing actor indeed

  • wouldn't it have been funny if stone cold steve austin appeared half way through the movie and stunned magua?

  • Lol that what you said is soo random

  • Good Cherokee. Proud to see him doing well. We are returning. Amen

  • magua is really an asshole for killing the last of the mohicans

  • Magua¨s family was slaughtered by whites. It was the reason for his behaviour.

    Think about it.

  • I agree. he saw no future along side the whites and would fight to the end for his children. He is not evil, he is extremely fierce and mentally strong just like a lot of the native american warriors who fought their whole lives.

  • Good point LastBreedOfWarriors , you are absolutely right !!

Magua was proud and strong son of his people.

  • exuse me?

u said he's not evil??then why did he killed uncas, uncas is not white too

and 2nd is cora and alice didn't kill or whatever the whites did with magua's family

    yes he is evil

then why did he want to marry alice?

if you watch the whole movie ,when magua and decing who will he take alice or cora he chose alice to marry him and they were in their way to the place to marry each other.

alice didn't want to marry him that's why she threw her self top the cliff

  • @onealx1

magua was not evil.. his soul was filled with a need for revenge. Additionally he has been corrupted into the whiteman's way of thinking in regards to power. Hence "his way is not the Huron way" uttered by the chief of the huron

  • But the question comes up, who is evil? Is not Magua evil, if his heart is full of anger and he can think only about making pain to Gray Hair?

  • @saoci

Evil would be a dedication to harm without just cause. The General had deeply wronged magua. The higher road would obviously be forgivness but revenge is acceptable.

  • In both respects. The French do not represent the western way since their secret alliance with the Huron is just as dishonorable.

Last of the Mohicans is one of the last movies I can remember which put white man and indian on the same footing...as people.

  • and there's 2 reasons why did alice kill her self:

1.she loved uncas and after he died she was going to be nothing without

2.magua was going to marry her and she didn't wantto marry magua

is she going to marry someone who killed the one she loved!!

    i dont think so

  • didnt she love the last mohican son that wes killed on the mountain?

  • Not by whites. By BRITISH whites. That's, why he was fighting an collaborating with the french. ;)

  • The French were also whites....I think his agro was with the British soldiers, specially with that coronel,...my question is why did his daughters have to pay for her father nastiness

  • No, his daughters did not have to pay.

Magua treated them in his way. He wanted Alice to become his wife.

It is noble behaviour towards daughter of a man, who slaughtered his family.

Do not you think roni ?

  • @ roni14518,

    (1 of 3)

Native American culture didn't make children "pay" for the misdeeds of the parents. It was a warrior cultue. Even the women were brave and very tough...like Sparta.

When the men from a tribe were killed; it was the norm to take the women and children as captives for wives and for "replacements" for children who had died.

Women and children were not left to starve in the Native American society.

  • @ roni14518,

    (2 of 3)

(The film at this point doesn't follow Native American norms.)

Duncan was sentenced to die first to give time for: Alice to beg Magua to also, take Cora as his wife. Or, during that time; another brave could have asked for Cora's life to be spared to be his wife.

If neither of the above happened...

Before her execution; Cora would have been forced to run the gauntlet. IF she was brave and exhibited valor; her life would have been spared.

  • @ roni14518,

    (3 of 3)

Bloodlines were traced through the mother's clan. A woman who was made a wife or a child adopted as a replacement would have been formally adopted into the mother-in-law's (or the mother's) clan.

The idea of "total war" with the destruction of whole villages was an introduction by the Europeans.

  • its only a movie dick!

  • He didn't kill the last of the mohicans...

  • Chingachgook snuffs him so good at the end!

  • Like Val Kilmer as Doc in Tombstone

Wes Studi as Maqua should have got the

    Oscar....but did not.

  • how about val kilmer as Batman i thought he was pretty good

  • @salinagrrrl69 tehehe are you native american :P

  • @salinagrrrl69 Doc holiday Is my favorite character from any movie. I also like Magua's character..

  • 为什么他总演反派

  • hard lookin bastard , best film , best acting , best soundtrack

  • anyway, does anybody know the title from the song ? =)

  • whoa. i still have to cry when i watch this movie.

  • do u know on which site i can watch it?

  • unfortunately not,sorry :)

  • i must watch this movie!

  • you can actually watch the full movie on the internet

  • Wes Studi also played General Linus Abner in the short-lived NBC tv series Kings

  • Magua is awaesome!

  • The Huron/Wyandot were fearsome warriors. Wes Studi, as usual is a badass in most of his movies. I especially liked him as "Toughest Pawnee" The Pawnees are originally from my home state of Nebraska so I have a soft spot for them anyway. Wes Studi is one of my favorite actors.

  • I agree Wes Studi does all the indian roles like no other I have ever seen. If he's in the movie it's worth paying to see.

  • Wes Studi deserves an Oscar. He is absolutely brilliant in everything I've ever seen him in. Except maybe as the Sphinx in Mystery Men. :)

  • hahaha I loved him as the Sphinx !! Such a random role for Wes Studi....

  • Wes studi, aCherokke, had two tours of duty in Vietnam. His portrayl of Magua was the personification of evil. No was no other equal: Bruce Cabot, TVs Alstair Cooke presentation. There were others; however, none of them surpassed

    Wes Studi.

  • shame the woods indians were driven out on to the plains,of amarica, as an englishmen i have a lot of sympathy, with the indians..they fought for us..and the usa never forgave them for that...

  • Some were; however, there were others such as the Apache, Kiowa, Blackfoot, and the Lakota. They fought for the French, the English, and the Americans. Many reside today in America. They have fought in time of war for this Nation and will continue to do so in the future.

  • it's an amazing movie. i have watched it so many times but still i want to watch it again and again. it's really amazing, and the soundtrack at the end of the movie when they r killing wes studi is really superb. it's a masterpiece. love it.

  • I LOVE WES STUDI !!! He's a great actor

He looks just like my dad

  • I truly, really hope, my husband would looks like Wes ;-D

  • Wes is absolutely amazing in this movie. He is a fearsome Magua, much more evil than in the novel, and Wes is remarkably convincing. A great performance in a great movie.

  • i guess wes misses the old times, when white or black people weren't there...

  • yes we do

  • what tribe?

  • i want to be an indian.....

  • This guy scared the crap out of me when I saw this movie. I never forgot the performance and have admired his work since.

  • Yeah I saw the movie in theaters when I was pretty young on Halloween... pretty spine tingling portrayal ha ha... I'm thinking he's a Tulsa, OK native or somewhere around here.

  • Wes Studi is from Nofire Hollow, OK. Did you see him in the PBS special "Trail of Tears?" It was the first role he'd played where he was able to speak his native Cherokee

  • I love the music from this movie!!!

  • Magua's heart is twisted, he would make himself into what twisted him.

  • 4:25 I'm the king of the woooorrrlld! oops...wrong movie.

  • How about Michael Wincott...playing "Moxica" in 1492-The Conquest of Paradise? Remember the scene with the stallion? Just add Vangelis...

  • there are a lot of underrated actors,,,Sean Bean(boromir) Andy Serkis,Wes Studi etc...

    i don't give a fuck about Jessica Alba,she is beautiful,but talented?NO!!!!!

  • "Wes Studi, another underrated minority actor who should've won an Oscar for playing Geronimo"

    I could not agree more..

    He is an Inspiration..

..and no longer a minority actor!

  • I meant TREMENDOUS actor.

  • Wes Studi is a tremedous actor.

  • Wes Studi, another underrated minority actor who should've won an Oscar for playing Geronimo.

  • Magua The Last of the Hurons, Wes Study the living legend.

  • no hes cherokee retard

  • Right, but in the movie he is a Huron chief!!!

  • but in here hes a mohawk lol get ur facts stright

  • From Wikipedia: "Magua is a Huron Indian chief and the main villain in the novel The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper. This historical novel is set at the time of the French and Indian War. He is also known by the French alias "Le Renard Subtil". [...] Magua reveals how his life was shattered by being abducted himself by the Mohawks, the traditional enemies of the Huron. His life was spared and he was adopted into the tribe..." Magua is a Huron and he never will be a Mohawk! Enough!

  • Didn't Magua say to the French general, ". . . in his heart, he is Huron."?

You're right, man. Whoever voted you down is an idiot.

  • ohh and ur right but dont get mohawk and mohican confused the tribe that chicanghook or whtever his name is are mohicans not mohawks even though they sound the same which is not coinsidential because they r from around the same area though they r substantially different

  • u get ur facts right in fact he is a huron in the movie and there are no mohawks in the movie its the mohicans they r different tribes look it up

  • no fuking dip

  • The Mohawks, loyal allies of the British, were at the Fort William and Mary. The chief was played by the actual chief of the modern Mohawk tribe. The Mohican tribe had been defeated and dispersed some 30 yrs before by the Mohawks in the English-Dutch war. The Huron people were allies of the French.

  • i love ur name
