OK, the video shows lots of people on their smartphones. What percentage of smartphones are running Wind River code? I'm thinking close to zero. However, they are a very big player in other embedded systems, the number of which is very large.
Nice video Interesting that McAfee is partnering with Wind River to do embedded antivirus, especially since both companies are owned by Intel.
Seems like they could get good integration and not have rough edges that sometimes occur when completely separate companies try to integrate certain types of complex system software.
In the long run, I hope by 2020 we have made a lot of progress away from using languages for writing mobile apps that can have buffer overruns or double-frees, etc.
