Huh? Was that the guy from Ikki/Boomeran/Farmer's Rebellion I see in the end? I guess Sunsoft didn't have anybody else better to make a cameo back then! XD
What glitch/bug did they use? It seems that what the player in the video is doing is that if you die beside a door (Even if the door is closed) you will end up in the room beyond that closed door?
Reminds me of Mighty Bomb Jack, inasmuch as it looks like you have to dodge enemies all over the place, there are a million levels and secrets everywhere, and you have to follow incredibly arcane rules to win. Would this fall into the "acquired taste but fun if you're up for it" category?
I have a love hate relationship with these kinda games, I love just much secrets can be packed everywhere, but I just get so pissed of on how I'm supposed to figure out some of this stuff without any guide or FAQ.
In Japan, the word for all ordinal numbers is the same, (as opposed to ours, where it's 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) so a translation error like that is generally accepted, especially considering that this game never found a release outside of Japan.
I was doing a little research on the NES game SUPER PITFALL when I found mention of ATLANTIS NO NAZO in the Wiki entry. I just had to check YouTube to see if anyone uploaded video of this game. Lo and behold I stumble upon this speed run. Incredible. The final zone looks SO hard! How did this guy complete it? And where's the ending? Does the game just stop?
The name of the player's character is Wynn. The green guy (known as Gonbe from Sunsoft's other game, Ikki) at the end is actually saying "Congratulation" without the letter "s" at then end of it.
The music is very well done, the graphics are polished, considering this is one of the earliest Famicom games, it has a ton of variety with 100 full levels and a non-linear path, there's lots of secret rooms to find and shortcuts, and considering games like Deadly Towers, Bible Adventures, and Heroes of the Lance exist, I highly doubt that it's the worst NES game ever.
I agree. The music in the first stage makes me think of an old-school train. It has the chuga-chuga sound of a train running across the track + the sound of the train's whistle + the sound of the train's bell.
yukiuchi8 3 days ago

I played this game again and again when I was a kid. I'm shocked it takes only 3 minutes to beat it.

marionette915 1 year ago

the ending is just the guy saying "congraturation". the screen never turns black or anything. the player in the game killed him self too.

Why are japanese people so good at videogames compared to everyone else?

Probably because they are the ones who make them. XD
